Being able to categorize and add notes to pins dropped in Google Maps (interesting shops, restaurants to try, places with great pastries & coffee)

And of course make the pins searchable

What else...oh yeah. COPY & PASTE!!! And MMS. And AIM.

Movie capture would also be really nice. But we're getting there.

I am kind of curious why that wasn't added after the first update

Probably because they don't want to listen to people bitching about their batteries dying after 30 minutes. My dual core MBP can barely handle some Myspace pages. That is an extreme case but it illustrates the problem with flash and other infinately looping content (like ads).

Cover flow customized for the part of iPod u r in. Eg. I I am in podcasts and I tilt 90degrees I would like to see my podcasts only and same with video and In playlists only see album covers only fro
that playlist.

This was iphoned

I'd love it if there were no annoying lag when opening SMS. Other than that, A2DP, voice dial, iChat and deleting multiple e-mails would make it perfect for me. Truthfully though, I'm very happy with 1.1.3.

i'd kinda like the ability to upload photos to facebook without having to load the photos on to a computer to then load em on to facebook, it could be an option along with 'make wallpaper' or something! would make me happy!

Why not just email them to photos@facebook.com (it might be mobile@facebook.com now, actually)? I have EDGE disabled and I still do this over WiFi, it just puts them into a "mobile uploads" folder on facebook, then you can move them around and tag them as needed.

Unless you NEED full-size... but I don't know why that would be since the emailed versions are still a bit bigger than facebook shows.

OTA sync to .Mac
OTA sync to MS Exchange.

The OTA sync is what I miss most about my old Blackjack. There was none of this fooling around with plugging into my computer just to update my schedule.

What I would like in the next update...

As it stands now, my iPhone is great for what I need to do. However, reading some of your comments has made me ask myself how it could be better.

I reckon...
1. An easier way to scroll text in fields. It takes a while at the moment to tap-hold and then sort of slowly drag it across.

2. Home screen wallpapers would be great, it would make it a lot more personalised.

3. Cover flow needs to take note of where I am in the iPod app before it switches, the same as iCantWait suggested.

4. MMS would be great, but it's not a feature that I use too often. I find it better to email the pictures to people, but receiving MMS messages can be annoying as I can't view them straight away.

5. Additional Bluetooth profiles would be awesome, it'd be able to work with my TomTom, and if Apple should release some Bluetooth headphones, that would be cool.

6. Video recording for those moments when you've got to film it.

7. I'd also like to see the iPhone syncing with Mail's Notes & To-Dos.

To those requesting Flash, I'm not sure if that would be a great idea as I'm not sure if the iPhones processor would be up to it, especially sites with lots of animation etc.

- Copy/paste
- Multiple email delete at once
- Custom sound effects for email. I cannot hear the new mail alert, ever
- Save pics from email to phone directly.

- Ability to pick and choose which calls to clear one at a time or all at once.
- Ability to see what was outgoing, incoming, missed
- MMS is a must. I can't remember how many times I find something, take a picture and text it.

Just a few...

delete multiple emails
forward sms
save pictures from websites
birthday put in contacts show up in ical
speed dial icons on home page
assign any sound to any function
sms
be able to sync my own icons for speed dail numbers or websites on home page.

VPN 802.1x would be great. I have been asking for this from day one and didnt know why it wasnt included in the first place. I also want the leopard style dock like on the Ipod Touch. I had it when my phone was jailbroken, but lost it when I updated. oh well.. I would also like to be able to place .DOC and PDF Files on my iphone and actually view them offline instead of having to attach them in emails. Thats about it. If I could get those three things, then I think I am set.

My biggest want is a simple on/off toggle for bluetooth on the home screen. Other than that, I'll take the oft mentioned MMS and flash support.

AH! Edited to add "Delete All" option for emails, etc.

I was thinking, for copy/paste...

You put the cursor somewhere, then at the bottom of the screen there will be a "highlight" button, first push starts the highlighting, you place the cursor where you want it to end, press the "highlight" button again, and the selection is highlighted.

Then, to cut, the delete button already in the keyboard can take care of that. Then there is the addition of the "copy/paste" button. This will take the selection and allow you to obviously copy and paste it. I would think maybe the flip up corner would be useful for these additional buttons and features just like the new button additions 1.1.3 saw in the Maps feature.

Figured this is the easiest way because obviously holding and dragging the cursor just magnifies and moves it, so the button is essential without getting into too many complicated touch techniques I'm seeing people suggest.

I would say Flash would be on my list but to be honest it kind of scares me what it would to the iPhone. If it's a memory hog and a source of crashes on both Mac's and PC's is it something we really want to put on our phones?

For now I'll be very happy with 3rd party apps. It's a small thing, but I want to play Sudoku on my phone without having to rely on EDGE or wifi.

wifi sync iphone

i think it would be cool to bluetooth sync to iTunes... for instance if you had a MacBook air....:D

Why not instead of Bluetooth, use WiFi to sync with iTunes? It can be done right? Use a similar format to sync like :apple:tv does/will. Whenever a movie is rented or bought on :apple:tv it will automatically sync to iTunes library. Why can't everything be synced to and from iPhone to iTunes library by wifi just as :apple:tv is....

could this be done post-sdk, or do you think :apple: already has plans for that in the future?

One other minor UI thing - it would be very helpful to have some kind of gesture that would auto scroll to the bottom of a webpage in Safari.

Sometimes you have to sit there swiping for ages to just read a comment at the bottom etc…

Can we please get optional repeating missed call/txt/email alerts?

Oh, and Flash would be nice - maybe make that optional also, for those people who don't want to see the flash ads, etc...

I would be happy if they would just fix the reception and dropped calls problem. But, the phone really needs copy/paste capability and the ability to select multiple emails for deletion.
