I’m not triggered 😤 I’m trying to warn people that the silver sides are a scratch fest. Saving people one return/exchange cycle.Won’t have that issue if screen protector and casing are applied immediately outta box. Feel sorry that you are triggered for other’s personal preference.
But I validate professionally. I’m not against the color silver, just against the scratch-prone sidesI was being sarcastic.
I think it is interesting why someone would tell people that they feel sorry for their choice of color. I don’t choose a color based on anyone’s validation. I choose a color based on what I like. I think all the colors look sharp this year. I really like the contrast of polished and matte finishes. I have gone for silver in past years and wanted something a little different. That is why I chose the Pacific blue.
If I'm not mistaken, all 4 frames for the pros have a PVD coating (gold processed differently), but this would mean you can't buff the silver stainless steel like prior phones unless you want to strip the PVD coating off.I see your little tag line at the bottom says you‘ve been going hard on macrumors since 2005. Saw your contribution and I’ve already outpaced you in one year. I must be the rock of Gibraltar in hardness. Regarding the silver 12, scratch heaven on the sides. Don’t want to spend time buffing the damn thing during ownership. I’ll stay with the more involved coating process on the gold color or possibly the blue if I’m feeling squirrley. Now that’s funny
Bored with it?! You must be playing with that iPad AirI've had Gold iPhone 12 Pro 512 Sim-Free version for almost 2 weeks now. I'm already bored with it. So, Pacific Blue it is. I honestly think it comes down to personal preference.
I remember after announcement of the new phones you did mention GOLD all the way. Well so did I. I've gone back and forth between gold and silver. I believe I will end up with silver. I don't want a dark phone. Last year went with MG and regretted it after 1-2 weeks. Due to busy life and what not never went and exchange it.I've had Gold iPhone 12 Pro 512 Sim-Free version for almost 2 weeks now. I'm already bored with it. So, Pacific Blue it is. I’m not sure of the longer terms effects of doing this, but @Brettka7 already posted results of his polishing the finish on his silver pro in this Thread. His results are flawless, and confirms to me at least, my choice to go with the silver 12 PM.If I'm not mistaken, all 4 frames for the pros have a PVD coating (gold processed differently), but this would mean you can't buff the silver stainless steel like prior phones unless you want to strip the PVD coating off.
This is why I keep on going back to gold. Also on a case silver/gold rear lenses section really pops out. That's why I don't want a dark phone. I also could care less about scratches. I'm on apple UP. The comments on this thread because of color preferences are ridiculous. Like really still in 2020 people put others down because of iPhone color preference. I call those fanatics. Just get whatever you like and enjoy it. Simple.Gold. I thought about going with Silver again because I like the classic Apple Silver/white combo but the gold stainless band really pops this year and the back glass is much lighter than previous years where the glass was champagne.
It’s a navy blue phone? Outside of black it’s like the most ‘manly’ phone color possible, if it actually matteredI will say the PB does look much better in person than their pics. Not sure it’s a color for a man tho. Lol
Yep, definitely no PVD coating on the 12 Pro. If there was, I would have sanded through it and created a pretty ugly hazy look around the corner I polished.
no i was kidding. everyone so testy so close to the election...lol..But no it is not blue. it is more light, turquoise i would say closer to.It’s a navy blue phone? Outside of black it’s like the most ‘manly’ phone color possible, if it actually mattered
What was it about the blue pro that was “meh”I was set on blue. My sister has the blue pro meh. Love the way gold looks in stores. I am now leaning to graphite but I am sure I’ll waffle up until the time to order it.
