I'm 8. My parents gave me my first MacBook Pro as soon as I learned to read.

(Just kidding of course. I'm sure there are a few obnoxious tweens on this forum, though...)

I'm 18.

I'm using for school (Graphic Design) and it's my second Mac after selling my 2.4ghz uMB to buy the uMBP 2.4ghz.

34 :) I am in sales , on the road all the time. Switched in year 2000 and never looked back.

48, I could afford it, and I use it for browsing, email, Usenet and Bittorrent downloading, DVD decrypting, watching movies/tv and light Windows gaming inside of Parallels. Did I need the power of a Macbook Pro? No, but it sure as hell is nice :)

Go for it if you can afford it.

Tom

17 turning 18 next october, been using 2 macbooks in the past 3 years of my high school, and now i'm bringing my macbook pro to uni!
currently on my first mbp with 2.5ghz penryn and love it the second i touched it-- SO SEXY

I'm 23, and from what I've noticed at a college campus like Harvard, I'd say around 40% of the student body use Macs (especially undergrads), and a good 1/2 of them have Macbook Pros. Just walk into the library and you'll see glowing Apple logos everywhere.

But you can go to one of a few "state" funded public universities within driving distance of Apple and see 10% percent of the student body with Macbook Pros. The students at SJSU, Cal, and Cal State East Bay don't often have the funds to get a Macbook or Macbook Pro. Lots of cheap PC usage (Office Depot and Best Buy $449 student specials) on those campuses. I would venture to say I have seen more high school students in Northern California with Macs than public university students, who have the added expense of rent, food, gas, clothing, and many of those kids also strapped with part-time jobs.

wow, after reading all your posts and reading the ranges of all our ages i think apple could do a commercial showing the diversity, from 10 year olds to 80 year olds, idk that windows can do that so easily...

o and btw, you guys convinced me to pursuit the macbook pro, imma see if i can sell my current mb to my dad since hes been eying the 2.4, but this is the 2.0, ill just talk him into it by saying how much he can save :)

Microsoft already took care of that one. They've already showed commercials featuring 4, 5 (uk) , 7 and 8 year olds. Next it will be "i'm a PC and i'm still in my mom's stomach" followed by "i'm a pc and i'm the oldest living thing on the planet".

I'm only 15. I guess I'm the youngest here. I got the pro because I'm into 3d animation. I also got it to use for video editing for class. Sure it was probably over-kill and I may not be a "pro" but I definitely use it to its full extent. I know a couple kids that have a baseline MBP but they only use it for basic school things. It's sad that they spend so much money when they rarely use it to its full extent.

I got the baseline unibody-MBP when it first came out.

almost 20 and on my second MBP. just got a 2.53 UMBP. use it for programming in xcode (computer science student), surfing the net, chatting, itunes, writing papers, and some windows gaming w/ bootcamp

20 and I'm on my 2nd MacBook Pro (1st was replaced under warranty) . I have previously had a White MacBook.

My current MBP is 15" 2.4ghz 4gb RAM 200gb HD(5400rpm). Looking to add an SSD when the prices drop by about 90% lol.
