Maybe Apple wanted to keep the iPhone out of corporate people's hands. Could you imagine the military using this?

Real men wouldn't be bothered by that or pastel colors as they would be secure in who they are and funky colors on a phone wouldn't change that.

Also, not all people in the military are guys.

I'm talking about while working. Or even in the medical setting. It's seems like it would be distracting.

Why would they be using phones while working or especially in a medical setting, at all? Seems like they've got more important things to do than to fiddle with their phones.

I don't get it. I absolutely love the look of this revision. Makes ios 6 look horrid. Functionality is a different story.

Unless you work for a company where everyone sits around on beanbags all the time, they're not corporate.

By far the worst aspect of iOS 7.

Corporations don't give a **** about colors of the OS. They care about quality, apps, and most of all security. Apple does a good job at these things which is why some corporations choose to use the iPhone.

It looks good with the right wallpaper, but I think people will be bored of the design in 3 or so years.

let it go will ya?
If you don't like it, switch platform, whining on forums 24/7 wont change anything.
BTW, once you change that wallpaper to something with darker colors, iOS 7 looks excellent.

We live in a time where people talk to others around the world using handheld computers which push electrical currents through refined sand. We also complain about colors being manly or girly. Can we just drop the useless vestiges of our cultures and make room for more awesome tech? :)

That's an excellent point. More than any previous iOS version, this one is a chameleon that changes its appearance quite a bit with a simple change of wallpaper.

It's too early to tell what iOS 7 really is. I'm not knocking it.

So do you hate the look of OS X too? It takes after iOS 6.

You mean OS X which pre-dates iOS and was the inspiration for iOS (not the other way around)? Not only is it a straw man, it isn't even true.

What I'm confused by is why folks are really surprised at iOS 7's look when Jony Ive is also known for design like this:

and the same designers who brought us OS X's original look:

There was always the chance that concepts like what the original iMac and OS X used would make some sort of comeback. I'm just surprised they had to punt Forestall to the curb before it did.

These new icons look fine but the colors... Ugh they look like my 8 year old daughter colored them in coloring book or something.

Here's to hoping we get some different color schemes.

or at least the jailbreak offers us some options like that.

Nothing In his post was misogynistic.

Actually, using "girly" to denote something's worth in a negative way, is the definition of misogynistic.

Also, to everyone calling it "pastel". IT'S NOT PASTEL! Pastel (in definition of color tone) is light and soft.

The word you're looking for is "saturated".

Interesting. I may like iOS 7 if I can understand it.

iOS and OS X are now being divorced. Which is the opposite of how they pitched OS X Mountain Lion when it came out.

OS X Mountain Lion makes your Mac more like your iPhone

iMessage on Mac. Many people have been asking for this, and finally we’re going to get it. The Messages app, which will appear very familiar to iOS users, replaces iChat. It’ll let you start a conversation on a Mac and continue it on a different device, like your iPhone or iPad.

Straw man or not, it's true. How can you say iOS 7 makes iOS 6 look bad, and continue to humbly use OS X, which has design iOS 6 design cues?

It doesn't matter really, I just think it's hypocritical.

It depends on what aspect of iOS 7 specifically you think make iOS 6 look bad. The overt similarities of OS X and iOS. 6 are in the skeuomorphism, which is going away in Mavericks.

I'm cool with that. I was getting tired of linen, weren't you? And all that chrome.

But you know what I'm really glad that's going away? When developers make their apps look like boxes! :D

Haha bye bye and good riddance!

I already did... 4 days ago infact :D. Nexus 4 with stock Android... and... I'm AMAZED by it! I cannot believe I disregarded and criticized Android so much in the past. It's actually blowing my mind, it is way ahead of iOS, even ahead of iOS 7 too with all it's new features. And the best part, is the liberty Android offers me, I can do almost anything :D Loving the experience so far :D

That's because people who don't like the changes in iOS7 have already moved on. The ones that remain in the forums are those that love iOS7 and get a little tingle in their dingle just from thinking and waiting (and waiting...) for it to be released - sad IMO.

You picked the wrong Android phone. Hope you love 3G forever.
