When I run, my wrist gets pretty damn sweaty. I usually wear a sport loop and about 1/3 into my runs I have to crank down on the size to keep it from slipping or losing a heart-rate signal, and loosen it back up again the moment I stop (or it hurts my wrist). I just can’t see myself wearing the solo loops for running given how much I adjust the size while running.

My quest for one band to rule them all will continue.

yup which is annoying but I did hear from runners the Nike band Sport band with breathable holes is one of the best for runners.

The Apple store yesterday was allowing exchanges of the band because of the issues with the sizing guide

They were asking all buyers with solo loops and the woven bands to try on their watch right there. If the band didn’t fit - they exchanged it
Hi I am in Texas no open stores here, do you know if I can return just the band and no the watch? I have size 5 and I need size 2.

Home print out 7
Apple Store version w adhesive 6
Actual Solo Loop 5

With a 5 it felt really snug, especially for the Blood Oxygen sensors.. the 6 & 7 felt too loose.. the watch would move on my wrist.

Boyfriend had a same 2 measure different: 6>5>4

Any ladies or gentlemen have the "child wrist" like me? I have a 14 cm wrist. I don't have any Apple Store around me, and I can't print that damn Apple tool...but typing 14 cm on their website I get a size 2. Since everyone suggests to go at least 1 size down I've been wondering if I need the size 1, basically the smallest size available.
I like a pretty snug fit. To give you a more objective clue, this is my 40 mm series 5 with an S/M sport band (3rd hole, I can fit the 2nd but it's uncomfortable), and with a sport loop (you can see the top bottom popping up the top of my wrist).
Anyone with this kind of wrist?

Tiny wristed gent here! I’m about 13.5cm and on the 2nd hole on sport bands, so slightly smaller wrists than yours by the sound of it. I’ve ordered a braided in size 2 which should come mid next week, so I’ll let you know how that fits when I get it! also slightly Worried that I’ll need a 1 not a 2...

I was in the Apple store yesterday. With tool, my arm size is 10 but in reality, the loop was much better with a 8/9

Is this loopgate?
Nope. A gate is a way to make a gap in a fence that you want to be able to open and close.

This is trying to find an online measuring system that works.

Some people are bad at measuring.
Some people are bad at printing and following instructions.
Some people like a tight fit.
Some people like a lose fit.
Some people wear their watches higher up the wrist.
Some people wear their watches lower down the wrist.

I never buy clothes online. I have medium T-shirts that are too lose on me. I have an XL T-shirt that is too snug.
Of course now you can't try clothes on in store I just don't buy clothes!

Thank you! I'll wait for your feedback right here then 🤞

Since new watches should be arriving today, was wondering if we could get some feedback on Apple’s solo loop sizing accuracy

I printed the sizing chart (checked the scale with a credit card), and ordered a size 8. My watch doesn’t arrive until Monday.

Anyone mind posting how the solo loop fits compared to the sizing chart? I.e., sizing chart said I was a 7 and it fits tight, loose, perfect?
I ordered a 6, I’ve heard that you should order the smaller size if you are in between. And it makes sense because it’s very elastic and it won’t bother you, if you order the loose one it will stay loose and a normal sport loop is better if you need two different regulations for different occasions

The fun part about this is that preview scales down the PDF for printing (without the option of going "Print 100%") while acrobat dos not. :D
I printed with AirPrint from iPhone But I didn’t find the option to print it 100% and it was scaled down, I had to use the Mac. Do you know how to set 100% from iPhone?

Measured at home: 8
Measured in store: 7
Purchased braided: 6

I tried on the 7 and it was loose despite the Apple store measuring paper showed me exactly in the middle of a 7. I’d highly suggest trying your band on before you leave the store in case you have to return it.

My actual purchased braided band is consistent with yours. I measured 8 in-store and actually got 1 size smaller. When I got 1 size smaller of the silicone loop I had to return because it was too tight. Like EXTREMELY tight. The 8 silicone was perfect.

All your points are valid; however, you would think most people will measure the wrist in the spot they’ll wear the AW. Moreover, you’d think Apple would create a better how-to system. How hard would it be for them to put out a video using the measuring tool they provide showing exactly how to measure. Then illustrating how tight or loose the band will be based upon that measurement. Under each band size (4, 5, 6, etc) they could’ve shown multiple sized wrists (with measuring tool), and how the bands fit accordingly. In other words...if you fell on the line between 7/8, this is what an 8 will look like. If you fell in the middle of the 8, this is what an 8 will look like. If you fell between 8/9, this is what an 8 will look like.

Yes, we can exchange the watch bands...but the point is, we are in a COVID environment and it isn’t easy to do so. All stores in my area are closed. Additionally, there is a back order of loop bands (precisely because people are now going to order 3 different sizes to see which fits best).

All of which could’ve been avoided had they just put a bit of effort into educating the customers on how to use the tool, and how that particular measurement will look/feel. If it’s a loose/snug feel...some will say Great! Others will want to size down for a tighter feel.

Finally, Apple never showed how stretchy the bands were during the key note. Had I know that, it would’ve help in my decision process.

Hmmm, I don't understand the problem people are having here. I measured a 9 with the sizing guide and that's what I ordered and its an absolute perfect fit.

when I measured I did it a little loose. The band was too loose and I returned it to order a size down.
When you measure be sure the tape is snug.

I picked up a solo loop yesterday...

I have small wrists. I usually wear a typical Apple Watch sport band, the small size, on the third hole for general wear and on the second hole for working out. I prefer the second hole overall for a good fit.

I measured between a 1 and a 2 for the solo loop. I tried the 1 on in store and bought it. It’s snug but a good fit. If you prefer it a tiny bit looser I would say get a 2 if your situation sounds similar to mine.

I totally agree.

The biggest problem was releasing this new chart at the exact moment when every Apple fan was trying to get through the checkout as quickly as possible to guarantee launch date delivery.

Why not release the models/guide first on the website and then open preorders the following day, or even an hour later?

It would have allowed us more time to measure properly.
