Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my sizing experience. I started off by printing out the sizing template per Apples instructions. It showed 11-12! I didn’t think that was right so I measured my wrist using a cloth measuring tape and it showed 19cm and according to the Apple website, that’d be a 10. I went into an Apple Store and tried out the template there and that showed me as an 11. I finally tried on 9, 10, 11 and 12. 9 was way too tight. I typically wear my watch snug (4th hole from the end M/L Sports Band and Nike Sports Band) and it was hard to put the band over my hand. It was tight around my wrist and a bit uncomfortable. 11 and 12 were way too loose. 10 was perfect. I’m wearing it now and the watch doesn’t move and I barely notice that’s on. I’d say, if possible, try using the flexible measuring in centimeters. I hope this was somewhat helpful.
Tape measure. A very logical approach.👏

If you go to the store they have bands available for try-on also.
I'm pretty sure they do but due to covid-19, I prefer not to walk in, plus need to make an appointment to go inside. Therefore I'll just order it online and try it on that way. I did purchase the size 8 yesterday and picked it up. Unfortunately it was big so I ended up returning it. so either 6 or 7 will likely fit for me.

I measured at 15cm, the website recommended a 4 and I received my watch today and it fits fine, watch doesn't move at all, personally I would have preferred it to be slightly tighter, but there is nothing wrong with the fit I got.

The blood oxygen app reads reliably also.

Solo or Braided? Cause I’m 15 cm and just returned a 4 size braided. It moved a lot, not a perfect fit.

It looks like this makes a difference, based on the 19 pages of comments here. Braided seems to fit generally at least 1 size smaller than the solo loop and is more stretchy. There are some videos that demonstrate this as well - someone who fits a size 7 solo fit the size 4 braided without issue.
I wish my apple store wasn't 5 hours away over a mountain ...

Maybe everyone can post the following to help us keep track:

Solo Loop or Braided Solo Loop?
What size did the tool say?
Does it fit?
If no, what size do you actually need?

braided loop.
tool was much closer to 9 than 10.
9 was much too big.
8 feels perfect, but also feels like it may end up too loose in a few years.

Just an update to my earlier post(s) in case it helps anyone. Got the Solo Loop. Apple site print out was a size 6, got it and was too loose. Tried a size 5 and it was almost perfect but still could move a bit a couple inches each way, occasionally below my wrist bone. Was fairly easy to spin all the way around my wrist.

Went to an Apple store in person today to exchange and this time tried their in-store sizing device. It measured me as being in between a 4 and 5. So I got a size 4 and it is perfect, finally. It is snug but not uncomfortable. They really need to implement a better sizing system.

Very nice experience considering Covid, btw. Entire pick up area was outside the store under tents and they require masks. They sprayed the new band's box with alcohol for me before giving it to me. Some moron woman was there with a mask around her neck who didn't want to put it on (seriously, why even wear one if you are going to do that) and they forced her to put it on. Kudos to the store for not putting up with idiots.

Did anyone with a size 16cm wrist purchase a braided loop for their 44mm watch? Which size fit well for a watch position just behind the wrist bone? The PDF tool (printed properly) and the home tool size guide say size 6, I have a 5 coming, but I'm worried it should be a 4 after all.
I agree with Ilissalo that it would be helpful if people started posting more successes, that include the wrist size, watch size, position of band, and type of loop + loop band size.

i'm about 160-165mm and i find 6 huge (slides all over) and 5 tends to sit properly behind the wrist bone in general but will slide forward with a lot of arm motion like in running and rest cocked against the wrist bone. i have a 4 coming and i'm fairly confident that will be the right one. this is all solo loop... people here say if anything braided loop requires the same or even lower number. i'd suspect 5 will be ok if you like a "loose" feel but 4 likely is the right number.

As promise... bad luck. Almost.
For 15 cm measured exactly and tight, they recommended me size 4 for snug fit. And look that size 4 in the braided one:

So mixing feelings. Now I know for that loop the 3 is my size but... 8 weeks to wait for a new one. It's super comfy, but it moves a little, so not sure what to do, keep it or not...

Whats more I have one solo loop size 4 coming. Should I cancel it? Or -as I've read- it's tigher than this one and will fit better?

Any advice? 😢

I also have a 15cm wrist and have the 40mm watch. I tried on a size 2 braided loop in store and it was perfect, the 3 was a little too loose. The sizing tool I printed out and the one in store showed in between a 4 and 5. Both far too big. I also tried on the sport loop and a size 3 is perfect for that.

Here’s my experience. Originally measured with Apple online tool between 3 and 4. I ordered a size 4 and way too loose. Went to the Apple store today and they did not size me. They only asked what size I thought I might be. I said 2 or 3. I ended up going with the 2 because the 3 was just a tad too loose. I was told to go with a snug fit because of the sensors. Here is my size 4 vs size 2. Pink citrus band is size 4, navy blue is size 2.

love the navy and gold! Is that the aluminum gold or stainless?

What’s your wrist size in cm? (Where the watch sits)

Does anybody know if the braided loop bands are washable? I couldn’t find anything regarding this on Apple web site. I’m concerned about sweat, skin oils, hand lotion, dirt etc.

The 300D construction offers a soft, textured feel and is both sweat-resistant and water-resistant.

That is what is mentioned on the website. I don’t know if it’d be washable though.

I did not have a printer when I ordered my watch with the sports solo loop.
So I used a tape measure to measure the circumference of my wrist.
19cm correspond to size 10 according to Apple. In fact, the bracelet fits perfectly!
I hope this helps...

Hi, I ordered an Apple Watch with a size 10 braided solo loop after measuring my wrist at 19cm. But because I was reading a lot of complaints I went into an apple store today to try them on and actually for me a size 9 was better. The 10 was just a bit too loose for my taste. I had to cancel my order and order it again in the right size. They couldn't change my order to a 9 which was disappointing as many people are finding out that the size is not easy to get right without fitting it. So I lost my place in the cue and have to wait even longer now.
P.S.: I ordered it online so had to call as the store can't help for online purchases.

40mm watch
13.5cm wrist
Normally wear S/M sport band in 3rd hole, 2nd is a bit tight
Solo loop size 2 fits great-snug but not tight

hi! You have my measures! Do you mind posting some pictures of your 40mm with the braided loop on your wrist? Thank you!

Ordered size 10 with a measured 19cm wrist. Fits and feels great!

I measured (several times) in cm and using the Apple website calculation which put me at size 9. Received it today and sadly it’s way too loose and rolls around my wrist. I can fit a finger inside the band without stretching it. All stores are closed here due to covid lockdown so I have to return it and order a new size which has blown out to 6-8 weeks shipping.
