Oh. I already set it up on the phone for an exchange. Though I haven’t sent anything or got instructions. Maybe I can call and ask to pay the difference?

I’ll throw in another data point:

I measured my wrist with a cloth measuring tape at home. It came out at about 7 1/4 inches, or 18.4 cm. Apple’s size guide said I should get a 9, so I did (silicone).

If I wear it at the same spot I wear all my other bands (fairly far down my wrist), it’s just a hair looser than I’d like it to be, especially if the band loosens more over time. If I wear the watch a couple centimetres higher up on my wrist (slightly farther up my forearm, but definitely still in wrist country), it fits snugly and securely.

Based on this, I think size 8 probably would have been too tight and uncomfortable, so I’m happy with what I got.

How tight are your solo loops for the size you are happy with?

I’m getting imprints on my wrist at the end the day. Is this normal or is it too tight?

I tried one size up in store and it felt bit loose and the watch would move up and down my wrist when I shake it.

Curious to see if you all get imprints too.

No, I don't get imprints on mine, but that's not to say its right/wrong as such, its just how I like to wear my watches. On the solo loop and the braided ones, if I shake vigorously it would probably move slightly, but not much. I can get my index finger under each one with not much effort, but it does stretch the strap.

I think to get the strap to the point where there were imprints, I'd have to go down 2 sizes?

I guess the slight concern I have is if the bands get looser over time, but I'm hoping Apple have thought of that...

They did, they put a warning that it may stretch over time. Which makes the somewhat loose on average recommendation more confounding... it's not the wearing that will likely do it so much as the amount of stretching done to put it on and remove it.

Looks great to me. I think the main thing is you don't want your wrist really squeezed, like bulging out from the sides. Mine has just the slightest hint of that and probably about 1/2 size tighter than what you show. I can get an imprint just wearing for say 10 minutes, but it's not much worse than that initial imprint after a full day of wear.

I used Apple's sizing protocols by measuring my wrist with a tape measure. 7 inches yielded between an 8 and a 9, Apple recommended 8 and that's what I bought. I then found this thread and started to mildly panic because I wear the 42" s/m sports band on the third hole so I should have ordered a 7.

My watch arrived and the size 8 feels great. I put it to the main test yesterday by playing a round of golf, and the band and new watch performed perfectly. I think actually I was wearing the sports band too tight!

And a PS, after upgrading from the Series 3, the Series 6 is lightning fast and amazing on the golf course. I use Golfshot Plus and the yardages updated much faster. Was a real pleasure to use the new Series 6.

I could not try them on today at my local Apple store. They said it was because of covid. Maybe different areas have different rules about that

Definitely different rules for different areas. I'm in Singapore and went to an Apple store a couple of days ago, and they had no issues with letting me try on the different sized solo loops. They had plenty of alcohol wipes and were wiping things down after people had tried them on or touched them.

Here in the US (well, in Denver) they are fine letting us try on various bands. Simple enough to rub down w/ alcohol afterward.

I am just between 5 and 6, If I adjust the guide tightly on 5.

Should I buy the 4 or 5 (solo loop)??

I think if you are getting an imprint it's probably one size too tight. As others have said, it MAY stretch a bit, but nobody really knows how much. That type of constant imprinting probably isn't too good over extended periods of time for the skin

If it's secure enough to not move during vigorous exercise, I don't see how you could avoid having it at least that tight. It's a pretty stretchy band after-all... if sorta needs to be at least a bit under tension.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the solo loop and braided loop sizes fit the same? I was looking to get a braided loop (when every the charcoal size 9 is back in stock) and wanted to see if they have the same fit. The solo loop size 9 fits me perfectly.

It's been shown in a few places that the braided loop is actually a bit longer, like a half size or so. Why exactly? Possible due to having a lower degree of elasticity. I've handled both in a size 5 and it wasn't terribly obvious to me the difference, and both fit reasonably well with the braided maybe feeling a bit looser.

My Solo Loop arrived today. Using Apple’s measurement tool, I came in between 7-8. I went with 7 and it’s a perfect fit. If I were to get the braided nylon, I think I’d go with a 6.

FYI I got the solo loop size 8 (fits fine and thats what the guide suggested), and also picked up the braided solo loop, but definitely go a size down for the braided version. 7 was slightly tight initially but after a few stretches fits like the size 8 solo loop. The size 8 i tried in the apple store was loose.

FYI I love these, dont have to mess with buckles and getting lengths right like on sport loop. Use the solo for workout/water stuff and the braided for everyday.

I can also say that my solo loop fits perfectly in size 7, but would need a size 6 for the braided solo loop.

What size did you come in at for the measurements? either in cm and/or using the tool. I have a 44mm and I'm waiting on my braided loop. I am 16cm, but the tool ranges between 5.5 and 4.5 depending on how tight I pull the paper. I've ordered a size 4 in the braided and I wear my watch just above the wrist bone.

the size 4 should be fine, you always want to size down for these is what ive learned, 4 is the smallest you can get in 44mm so. also you may just want to go into your local apple store if you can they usually have some even if it doesnt show on the site and they can measure you there as well. they only list in store if they have an a lot in stock so if its not listed doesnt mean that they are completely out just limited stock

My gold stainless steel watch with size 4 black solo loop was just delivered. I used the paper tool printed off the website to measure. Put it over the non-tanned area of my wrist where I normally wear my watch. It measured between 5 and 4. I ordered the 4 and it is a bit loose. I like to wear the band loose but this is just a little bit too loose.

Are stores allowing exchanges of just the bands?
