I used Apple’s own sizing tool in-store this morning. Measured as a size 8, so I tried the braided solo in an 8 and it was significantly loose. Tried a 7, and not much difference. Ended up with size 6.

Same. I followed Apple's guide and it's still too big. It was printed at 100%, my  Card fit the box perfectly, and I even made it really tight around my wrist going against the instructions as I like it tight.

What's odd is that I can't even get their instructions to go down a size as the paper is already as tight as it can be. I know a size smaller would probably be perfect, but I find it strange I can't get to that number when using the size guide.

Yep, I'm in the club too.

One size too big. A size 9 was perfect with the cutout, but it's definitely one size too big in real life for my Deep Navy Solo Loop. A size 9 seems to correlate to the biggest hole on the standard sport band size S/M.

Also, mine smells bad :(

Add me to the club. I just canceled my Blue Braid as well, as I ordered a 7 for both the solo loop and braid.

I followed the instructions very carefully and ordered exactly what showed on my wrist. There are no stores open in my state so, I will have to return the size 7. I went ahead and ordered another Citrus Solo in size 6 for a snugger fit.

I'm beginning to think the sizing might be off by 1 size unless Apple wants us to wear these fairly loose. My biggest concern is that mine almost flops around on my wrist and would probably lock at some point during the day.

FWIW, I measured my wrist and input the measurements and it still told me to order the size I did, which is too big.
I just ordered one size down for next week delivery. We'll see how that goes. This is the Solo Loop too, not Braided. I have a Braided one coming with my watch, which will also get exchanged.

I was very excited to order a new Solo Loop, because I love silicone bands but hate the buckle bump. My navy Solo Loop arrived today, and even though I measured carefully per the instructions, it's too big. Apple Stores are all still closed in my area, so I can't go to try on in person. My issue is, I don't know what the difference is between each size, so I don't know if I should go down one size or two. Anyone with experience trying on different sizes who can help? Other than it being the wrong size, I can tell I will absolutely love it once I get the proper size. It's soft and smooth and feels great.
Try this, stole from Reddit Apple solo band sizing guide with sport band

I would say definitely size down. New pink citrus solo loop band on AW4 size 4. Apple’s paper measurements said between 3 and 4. I have to size down prob to a 2.

Same here! I thought oh I’ll just order a size down and it’s back ordered til November. And the size I chose was tight as recommended based on the sizing kit.

My wrist is 17.5cm. Ordered the 8....hoping it fits good. Arrives on Monday! Our Apple store is temporarily closed for COVID, so can’t drive over to get an accurate sizing.

Ordered the Leather Link yesterday...arrives mid-November!!!! Yikes! Oh well, can always use my old watch band if needed!

I just saw iJustine on YouTube measuring her wrist as a 5 (?) but when she got her testing unit, the 2 actually fit her perfectly

I saw her video also, but the way she fumbled with the measuring tool gave me the impression that she really was not using it correctly! When I try using it, getting a measurement seems very straightforward (but I'll admit that I haven't ordered one yet or been able to verify that the band turns out to be accurate for my wrist).

Measured wrist size at Apple store, came out between 9 & 10. Bought 10 and its a perfect fit. Not too tight not too loose. When wearing or removing it there's a little struggle but my hands are big. And i think size 11 will be big & loose and size 9 small & too tight.

OK, I've got this figured out. 44mm for all bands/photos.

In the attached pictures, the green band is using the S/M length and on my comfortable size, and the Solo is a Size 9. You can see they're exactly the same length (regardless of the photo angle).

The problem is the overlap/thickness of the sport band adds a "space". So, shrinking down 1 size should be right. Maybe go two spaces if you like it really tight, or expect the Solo to really stretch out over time.
