Glad to find this thread. I was just getting on here to ask about sizing. I got my braided loop in today and it’s too big. I can’t believe they’re backordered til November! :(

I guess I’m just gonna start a return, but I really love these. I like not having the bulk of the buckles and stuff!

Solo Loop / 44mm watch
In my experience the sizing was spot on. I initially measured as a size 10 using the measurement of my wrist. Then printed out the actual Apple size chart and was on the high end of 9 (right below a 10)

So I just went with a size 10 and it's an absolute perfect fit for me.

I would suggest ordering a size down. I ordered an 8 from the sizing tool... I fell right in the middle. It's too loose.

Again I’m irritated...I have a small wrist but prefer the larger watch...many of the watch bands are too big for my wrist, now the latest bands are not small enough for my wrist. i cannot imagine I’m the only small wrist AW44 out there...not sure why Apple doesn’t consider that.

I measured exactly 1/2 between 8 and 9. I ordered both. Definitely go with the smaller one if you are in between. 8 works best for me. I went for a run and it was chilly and the even the 8 got a little loose but I pushed it up my wrist to get a good heart rate reading. The 9 would have been way too loose running.

Back inside later in the day the 8 feels snug but not too tight.

I really like the solo loop so far.

Using the print out from apple I was in between a 3 and 4. Also tested using a measuring tape and I was apparently a 4 /5 (15cm wrist). Tried a size 3 braided loop in store and it was a little loose so tried a 2 and it is perfect. Have ordered one online but shipping isn't for 5 - 6 weeks now :( Just goes to show you really need to try on before ordering.

From the comments here and in other media, it seems that Apple's lo-tech measuring system is pretty poor and will cause more problems and disappointment than intended. Great jobo_O

Does anyone know if you can return just the band if the fit us off or does the whole unit also need to be swapped/returned?
Last yearI didn’t like the band I got with the S5 watch so they sent me my new choice and I had to either return the original band to the Apple Store or mail it back to them.

Over time, it will stretch and get a little more loose. Same for the Solo loop, depending on how often one takes the band on and off and much stretching is involved to get the band over the wrist.

Not that I don’t think Braided won’t stretch over time, but I noticed this morning that Apple only has an asterisk by the Solo Loops. Maybe the Braided are much less likely to stretch out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Given the style and construction, I would agree that the braided probably won’t stretch out as much and as quickly as the Solo. I really like the blue braid. I just gots to have one. :D

I measured 16.5cm and ordered a braided solo loop size 6, however it’s not due to arrive until November. Might have to order a size 5 instead, but will wait and see.

In case anyone was wondering, the solo loop works for the Series 3. Keep in mind the sizing is made for the series 4 or newer so the case size of the smaller series 3 will make the fit a juuussst a tad tighter. The measure tool had me smack in the middle of size 6 and it fits me perfectly.

My wrist measured 7 in so it told me to order a 8 or 9. I ordered the 8 but now I’m worried it might be too big. My Apple Stores are closed so I can’t try one on. My shipping date is in November so I have time to cancel and order a different size.

From what I have seen and experienced, the guide is not accurate. Hopefully, you won’t have to return.
Why the heck did Apple not focus group test this measuring guide on employees? It seems as if some poor intern was tasked with creating it the night before the launch last week. Is this the best a 2 trillion $$ company can do? They create some great things but then this.

I have the size 10. But to get a constant reliable oxygen reading I push the watch up my arm about 1cm where the veins are thicker.

I just measured my wrist with a cloth measuring tape and I am 6.1/16” and the Apple store app said I need to order a 5. After seeing the braided YouTube video above that i posted, I saw that the difference in sizes is very small. I received a 7 which was little too big so, hopefully, the size 5 Solo will fit well. I canceled the size 6 I ordered yesterday.

All the braid loops are pushed another 1.5 - 2 months. I shall wait a week or so and see if the dates change. So frustrating I can’t go to an Apple store and get fitted, as well as purchase and return.

I just saw iJustine on YouTube measuring her wrist as a 5 (?) but when she got her testing unit, the 2 actually fit her perfectly

And she was an ditz in the way she measured herself. Totally not what you'd expect from her.

My 44mm size 8 woven gray should be delivered today. My wrist is just under 7” diameter. Will report back.

Sounds like you and I share the same measurements. Like you, I ordered an 8.

Very interested in how it fits you...looking forward to your post!
