Printed out their sizer and it showed 8/almost to the line separating 9. Ordered the 8 and am pleasantly surprised that the silicone solo loop fits quite well and is very comfortable. Curious to see the woven one now.

I origninally thought the band ws too large, but I realized it fits fine if I wear it further up on my wrist than I normally do. Maybe this is designed to make the oxygen sensor work more reliably. I read some reviews that stated that the oxygen sensor only works well if the watch is positioned higher up on the wrist.

Eh, no. They botched the sizing tool. I was an 8 on it, very snug. 7 was cut circulation level and I could barely get it there. I got an 8, should have gone 7.

I’m just going to return it. It’s nice, but not $100 nice (braided).

Hm. I will reassess my size 7 fit on Monday when the 6 arrives and test the SPO2 with different positions. Thanks for the post.

I ordered my braided solo loop in a size 7 for my 44mm watch and it arrived today. I had measured my wrist both ways - 16.5cm and with the cut-out paper. The size 7 is HUGE! (I can fit at least 2 fingers under the band without stretching it). It fits like a bracelet and slides down to my hand. I have to return the loop and order at least a size 5 and hope for the best. The new size 5 band will arrive at the end of November :(

The printable sizing chart Apple has is way, way off, even their official one in store that looks like the printable one. Says I'm around a 10/11 (tried the measuring in store as well) but trying the actual band on in store my perfect fit was a 7.

10/11 were hanging on my wrist, 8 was a bit loose and 7 was as comfortable as decently tight nike sports band that I usually wear.

Apple needs to tweak that chart ASAP as they are going to have tons of returns.

I sized as a 7 on both the cut-out and manually (170mm wrist). I picked up a 6 today in store because I prefer a snug fit, and it feels like maybe just a *bit* too tight. I think I should have gone with a 7, it would've been spot on. Surprised to see some major discrepancies here in this thread.

My wrist is almost exactly 180 mm. When I wear the sport band, I use the M/L one and use the third pin hole for a looser/everyday fit, and the second pin hole for athletic fit if I'm running or swimming.

On the sizing chart, I came in right on the line between 8 and 9 which was frustrating.

The 8 correlates to the second pinhole, the 9 correlates to the third.

I ended up picking up an 8, figuring that the material could stretch over time, and a little tight but stretchy is better than loose and also stretchy.

I'm conflicted. It fits snug but I can't tell if it's just a little too snug. At first I didn't think so, it felt basically perfect, but it doesn't slide as much as I would expect. But, I feel like the 9 will probably be, like I said, a little loose but maybe a little too loose.

Might pick one up just to find out. Of course I had to be right in the middle lol.

Measured 7. Got 7. Fits perfectly. To make blood oxygen test work I have to move it up a bit on the wrist. Now that I know that the test works every time.

I was skeptical but really like the solo loop. The blue combo especially. Measures size 7. Fits great.

Do you know the actual size of your wrist? I am just shy of 6” and trying to figure out which size I would need.
143mm to be exact but I would just go the Apple store to get it sized. There are too many factors including where you measure your wrist and how snug you are measuring.

I sized mine and it fits perfectly. Not too tight but right at where I wore the sport loop band at from a comfort standpoint. Really like this band a lot.

Soooo bummed.

On the day of the Apple Event this week, I measured my wrist with a string then tape measured the string and used the Apple scale: I even played around with what if I were off by a 1/16 of an inch (up and down to ½ inch possibly off.) Apple scale said I'm at the upper end of a 6, could possibly wear a 7. So I felt good about ordering the 6, thinking, maybe like a lot of other people, that it would be maybe a bit snug and get looser with wear.

Welllll...

The loop came today and it's at least a size or two too big. I could make it work, but that would be me making it work. So I either have to risk the Apple Store and try on a few different sizes to find the right size or just order a couple different sizes to see what fits and return what doesn't. I don't want to be wasteful or to wait, but I also don't want to mill around an Apple store around a release day (even if it is just a watch.) Mais c'est la vie.

The positive note is that I get to do a whole Apple unboxing again! And the band is beautiful and comfortable, so it'll be awesome when I get the size that fits!

TL;DR
Size 6 solo loop was too big on my ~6 ½" wrist. Thinking 4 or 5 might be better.

Measured for size 6 using the online tools, measured size 5 in the store, but size 4 was the best fit.

Got the braided loop in today. Followed the size guide and got a 9. Feels a tad loose like it could slip down, but it doesn’t quite slip down unless I shake my arm around. I feel like I could use one size down as well.

Also thinking about this... will it stretch out with use and become even looser?

Did you get the braided loop or the other one? I'm surprised to read your post because we have almost the same wrist measurement, yet my braided loop was falling off of me. The apple care person I called even suggested I go down to a size 4, but I didn't want to risk dropping 3 sizes. My size 7 is on its way back to apple now.

Size down. I was smack dab in the middle of a 9 on their sizing guide and when I went to the store to get more straps today I ended up being a 7.

Over time, it will stretch and get a little more loose. Same for the Solo loop, depending on how often one takes the band on and off and much stretching is involved to get the band over the wrist.

Just got back from the Apple store today, tried on the rubber solo loops for both the 40mm and the 44mm. Here is my take

1. Forget about the printable tape, go with the "everyday object" option on the Apple site, which is that for a 6" wrist, it is a size 5. For every 1/4 inch up, add a size, for every 1/4 down, subtract a size. So get a real tape measure, preferably one used by tailors.
2. I measure 6", which is a size 5. I wear the regular size Nike sport loop with the pin in the third hole from the end.
If the pin is in the second hole, the watch would move around, if the pin is in the fourth hole, it would be snug. Having the pin in the fifth hole is impossible.
3. I decided that the most comfortable solo loop is a size 5, both for the 40mm and the 44mm. It does not stretch, and it does not move. Size 6 moves a little. It lays flat all around my wrist.
4. It is important to know that the solo loop is perfectly smooth on the underside, it does not have any bump or buckle or anything that would help to keep the watch in place. Consequently it is important to get the perfect fit. One size too small and you feel like wearing a rubber hand, one size too big and it moves around.
5. The rubber solo loop is extremely comfortable. I would get it even if I don't get a new watch.

It’s the regular solo loop, not the braided one (although I want one of those too).

Excellent info! I just tried the everyday objects method. I measure 6 3/4”. Adding a size up from 5 per 1/4” suggests an 8. This is what I order. I like my watch snug so my fingers are crossed it works!

Size 8 seems good so far. The measure tool was extra tight to get to the next size down (7). But the solo loop (to me) is more slippery while working out. Not sure if 7 would make any difference in that regard.

Band should be tight but not enough for the “tunicate” look.
