Worried about all of this now, I’ve got my solo braided loop band coming next week as I ordered it separately.

I just checked the print out guide again and if I pull it really tight it’s a 9 but I ordered a 10 😬

Series 4-6 are identical as far as bands go, even my Series 0 Space Black link works on a Series 4-6 44mm.
Thanks. I liked my old bands but worry where it clicks in might not be the same and ruin my new watch

Since new watches should be arriving today, was wondering if we could get some feedback on Apple’s solo loop sizing accuracy

I printed the sizing chart (checked the scale with a credit card), and ordered a size 8. My watch doesn’t arrive until Monday.

Anyone mind posting how the solo loop fits compared to the sizing chart? I.e., sizing chart said I was a 7 and it fits tight, loose, perfect?

was able to buy one in store I went with a 5 as I used a tape measure instead of apples measurements. It suggests I go with an 8? Which would have been way to big. Size 5 fits like a glove..MKBHD said it best to go with a small size as the bands will stretch.

If that's the case, I wonder how that will affect the fit of these non-adjustable bands. Will they just be too tight or too loose half the time?
It is OK that they can be somewhat loose because the watch is mostly held in place by the clasp, which is elongated and prevents the watch from rotating around the wrist.

Do you have a sport loop where you know which hole the pin goes into for your size? A size 10 corresponds to the 3rd hole from the end on the M/L sport loop band.

3rd hole from the end on a S/M sport loop and a size 7 solo loop, identical fit.

I am also third hole from the end, but I prefer the size 6, because to me the fourth hole is snug. I cannot emphasize enough the size you wear your sport band might not be the size you want to wear your solo loop if you're not wearing your sport band snug. By snug I mean the next hole down would be impossible.

Yeah, there's some wiggle room a size up or down depending on how tight someone likes a flexible band. But I'm talking more about the people measuring themselves at home and being 3 sizes off. I used the paper print off, printing at 100% on a 8.5x11 sheet of paper and ordered on Tuesday. It came yesterday and was perfect for summer sizing, I just know I'm going to need a 6 when winter comes, which is why I ordered my Series 6 with a size 6 solo loop.

Serious question, does anyone else's wrist change size throughout the day?

I have a sport loop so I have the benefit of infinite adjustability, and I definitely notice having to adjust my strap to be tighter or looser by probably a cm or more each way depending on what I'm doing.

Yep

That was the same as me, if I pulled it really tight, it was an 8, but that didn’t feel right so went with a 9. I picked up a 9 in-store today and it feels great.

If the size of my loop is wrong when I get it - will I have to return the whole watch and loop back to Apple ? Or do they have a way to just return the strap and have a new one sent out ?

I'm a bit worried reading this thread as I've ordered a size 12 as my wrist was 20cm - but everyone else on this thread seems to be much smaller - I really didn't think my wrists were that large !

The Watch and Band come in separate boxes so you should be able to just exchange it at the store or order a correct band and return the other.

I ordered size 9 and feel the same. Do I have freakishly big wrists? Handy for when I used to do escapology.

First time AW for me. My wrist, at the narrowest point, measures 210mm circumference if I pull the tape measure really snug. I ordered an 11 sport loop. Never figured myself as having a thick wrist but we'll see come end of week when my watch arrives.

I suspect there might be quite a lot of these solo straps being returned for a smaller/larger size!

I picked up iWatch 6 with a white Solo Loop yesterday at our local store. My sizing experience is consistent with with the MacRumors "hands on" video that recommends going with the smaller size if you are in between sizes. If you are still unsure, you may want to visit an Apple store and try 2-3 sizes using their testing units. I'm pleasantly surprised to find the white Solo Loop to be pretty, pleasant to touch and comfortable for both day and night. I find it to be a nicer/softer material than the original silicone bands with a buckle (from gen 1). I ordered a fancier-looking loop from a 3rd party on Amazon and ended up switching back to the Solo Loop for comfort.

More details on my experience with a measurement and exchanging the Solo Loop for a different size: To get my measurements, I used the printed Apple tool and ensured it's "to scale" by placing a credit card to the square. My wrist measured between sizes 4/5. Since the tool instructions said not to make it too tight, I ordered 5. It turns out 5 was too loose, the watch was moving more than 1 inch back and forth to the point of being a bothersome. Luckily our store where I picked up the initial order had #4 still available (you can check online or by calling Apple. I was able to visit the store again the same day to make the exchange. No appointments were available but I was able to drop in and get help. I came for the exchange a few minutes before closing time, they were not particularly busy and were very helpful. Apple store has a bunch of open testing loops available along with the display units. They let me try size 5-4-3 to be sure (#3 was too tight, #5 too loose, #4 just right). The iWatch and the band come in separate boxes. I was helpful that I brought all boxes for the exchange: since they technically don't sell the watch and the band separately, they processed paperwork by scanning both iWatch+band #5 boxes for a return, and "repurchased" the same iWatch + the new band #4. It was NOT necessary to run the credit card again. The employees handled all the paperwork on my behalf using the boxes I brought.

Side note: The band exchange would have been more complicated if done by mail -- Apple phone support told me I would have to return both wach+band and repurchase watch+new band -> reason to make an exchange at the store if you can. Perhaps if you are concerned they may run out out stock of what's available, you can book iWatch+band to pick up + add an an additional separate band in a different size - then test at the store using testing unites to help you decide which "one" size to take home.

Safety notes: I had to choose a 15-min time slot to pick up the initial order. Apple employees had high quality masks for themselves. They limited how many people are in the store, ensured physical distance between everybody indoors and outdoors, kept repeatedly disinfecting everything (tables, watches, bands). Non-contact temperature was taken from all visitors. Disinfectants are available at the store, all visitors had to wear a mask, simple mask is offered to visitors who don't have any, or have a mask with vents, which is not allowed indoors unless the vents are covered.

Hope this helps!

I have exact same size, but for running its better 4th hole. From online measurement came size 7.
So I think 7 will be the best for me.
Yeah, I bounce between the 3rd and 4th hole depending on the weather, I'm liking the size 7 so far. Which should be their whole sizing philosophy. "Here's a chart but you may love or hate the suggested size based on subjective feelings able how tight a watch band should feel"

I highly recommend going to the Apple store for this. They have manufactured measuring kits they hand out for a better measurement.

I went into the store for my first watch thinking I was going to get a 40mm, but my wrist measurement was smack dab at 10, and only 44mm is an option.

Going to the store with a wait was worth it!

Sizing was dead on. Glad I went with the size I chose. The Sport Loop might be the most comfortable band I've ever had. I WILL be buying more of them, AMAZINGLY comfortable.

agreed!! My first Apple Watch and I’m stoked about these solo loops. I tried the solo loop on and then a sport loop on, and it’s no contest the solo loop is incredible.

Slip your watch on and go. I literally didn’t even notice I was wearing a watch.

Seems like a great and complete experience!
Im curious: have you measured your wrist? I think we are in a pretty similar situation, I’d love to check if my guessing with size 4 was correct (currently waiting for solo and braider band both in size 4, my wrist is 14.8 cm exactly in the spot where I wear the watch).
