No - saw it at the store. Faster processor/graphics, thinner, cameras - difinitely iPad 2.

There will be lines again in Sept. for iPad 2.5 (more memory, better cameras)...

;)

If there is a 2.5 in the fall, I expect it may very well be a 7" version. I just don't see any other hardware bells and whistles Apple can out into it right now...other than just slowly evolving spec wise. Would retina display warrant an x.5? Is it even cost effective yet?

I'm not certain there ever will be a 7", but if there is, it would live up to being an x.5. It would also come in at a lower price, which would make it a better seller for gift giving. Leave it to Apple to announce it a couple weeks early for availability on Black Friday...mayhem.

Where Apple can make a greater leap is in software rather than hardware. Let's see what iOS 5 has in store

So the poor sucker who ordered online from Apple has to wait 3-4 weeks for delivery while other lucky cats can take another day off work and stand in line at the Apple store for hours until they run out of stock again ?! Man, my head hurts!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

Just went into my local Apple store guy said try checking back here tomorrow at 9am. Also when I went in today I swear there had to be about 20 employees working.

Ok this is great. But what everyone wants to know is when the Sprint/t-mobile iphones are coming out. Why were there endless predictions of Verizon iphones posted here and no predictions of sprint iphones? The stories are out there. Just do a search in web crawler or your favorite search engine.

Personally I think Apple is waiting for Sprint to buy T-mobile.

Why would Apple wait until tomorrow morning to sell iPad's... even if they received them today? Seems unlikely to me.

Apple Store in St. Louis at the West County location was out. The employee I asked said, "No we're out, but we're hoping to get some tomorrow." He didn't mention anything about opening early tomorrow. In fact, he just suggested for me to order online, which was the plan anyway if I couldn't get one today.

I didn't asked the Apple store in at South Coast Plaza in Orange County if they were opening at 9am but they said to call back after 9am tomorrow to check if there are any iPads in stock.

Someone who loves the new ipad:

Howard Stern Loves His Apple, Do You?
By Roger Nachman
Benzinga Staff Writer
March 14, 2011 1:37 PM

Howard Stern was on his radio program on Sirius (NASDAQ: SIRI) this morning, saying how much he loves his new Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) computer, which could lead to a boost in sales of the already popular consumer electronics maker.

"I'm totally ********* into Apple,” Howard Stern announced on his Sirius XM program this morning.

“Listen, I'm not doing a commercial here,” Stern said. “I love it, I love it, I love it…. I don't know why I didn't do this years ago!”

“I love my iPad 2, too,” Stern went on to say.

Stern then went on to gleam about Steve Jobs to his sidekick, Robin Quivers. “This guy is a genius, Robin. A genius!”

“Right, Fred?” Stern asked Fred Norris, a fellow personality on the show. “You're an Apple guy right?” Norris replied, “Yes, I'm an Apple man all the way… Windows PC stuff, throw it out the window.”

Stern said, “I was duped [by Bill Gates]. PC my ass, I'm an Apple guy now… I love it, I love it!”

Quivers has also been talking about getting an Adroid phone in place of her Blackberry, but Stern said that he wants to check out the iPhone 4, and would get back to her on it. "Sit tight, I'll advise you once I check it out.”

If Howard Stern and his millions of loyal fans move to Apple products, such as the iPhone, iPad 2, and Apple computers, this can only be another boon for Apple and its shareholders.

I guess it's good to be the King, isn't it?

This should also get certain people on this board to go apoplectic. LOL

More iPads on Tuesday

I called the Apple Store in Akron, Ohio, and they confirmed that they will be open tomorrow 1 hour earlier. Wouldn't commit to having an iPads though. :D

As long as we get enough iPads on March 25th in the UK. Or else...

I was sixth in line Friday and the store manager told me though I can assure you will get an iPad I cannot guarantee it will be the one you want. Did I mention I was sixth in line?

I did get exactly what i wanted. :)

Seriously guys, you need to let these rumors go. One, Steve said that 7" tablets are DOA, and he's not one to change his mind (almost for spite sometimes). Two, they've got their product cycles down, and until the rest of the market stops trying to catch up and starts innovating for themselves I'm willing to bet you won't see another update to the ipad until this time next year. I'm betting they'll blow through inventory of ipad 2s during the holidays and then you'll be seeing all those iPad 3 rumors again in early 2012.

But hey, keep waiting for blu-ray drives in the computers, and SD ports in your iOS devices if it makes you happy...

i went to my apple store and the guy said maybe they will open at 9am. how can you maybe open a store.

And the point of this is?

They will sell out tomorrow, no matter what they anticipate shipments will be.

Or do they actually think they won't run out and will sell iPads for an additional hour? ~that would be incredible but sounds to god to be true.

The point is that they sell what they have and send the line home so the mall doesn't bitch at them all day.

They maybe get a shipment in the afternoon but the managers don't tell the staff so they have no clue. Next AM they do the same again.

Wash, rinse and repeat until the lines are gone

Someone please explain how can a multinational company not know what they shipped and where it was shipped to??

Apple Corporate knows, the warehouse knows. But the sales staff doesn't. It prevents them from saying "oh yeah we are getting like 1000 of them tomorrow morning. The truck shows up at 11 every day" to some joker that thinks what a great idea it would be to show up and try to steal a few, or all of them.

Not that hard to figure out.

There are no rumors because everyone knows, or finds out that Sprint and T-Mobile use different flavors of the tech and thus it is unlikely that Apple would split things up that far.
