I find it hard to believe a company with hundred billion dollars in cash is worried about 3% cash back from the people who don't default.Easy win for Apple here - disable Apple Card payments on iPhone pre-order day, those customers switch to another card and Apple doesn't have to pay the 3% cash back.
Yea, same here. I freaked out thinking my preparation for the pre-order was gone. So I just kept clicking around and noticed it was on the "For Me" tab. Crisis averted.I thought I had this too until I clicked on the "For Me" tab and my pre-order was waiting there.
Plus they don't care about the 3%. They WANT people to use the credit card...they make money when customers don't pay off the phone on time and are charged 10-20% interest.I find it hard to believe a company with hundred billion dollars in cash is worried about 3% cash back from the people who don't default.
Same thing here. Just got my loan number from Citizen One and was able to change future payments to my AppleCard, so that’s at least something.Had this happen to me as well, tried 4-5 times - didn’t want to lose my reserved spot so ended up using my other card and it worked
If they want me to the use the card then maybe the card should work. They better be making calls today to switch people to AC on existing orders without messing up ship dates.Plus they don't care about the 3%. I'm surprised mine worked since I only applied for the card yesterday
Apple owes you about 7 bucks.Same thing here. Just got my loan number from Citizen One and was able to change future payments to my AppleCard, so that’s at least something.
Not a great line of thinking take 6-7 bucks times how many orders they "saved" that money. This happened to me too. Tried 3-4 times and finally just used my normal card. Missed out on $6 cash back, but at least my order is in for 9/24. I’ve already updated the payment for the loan with citizens one to my Apple Card. Once I get my phone I may take the issue up with Apple and see if they can just give me some App Store credit or something similar, or I may just chalk it up and move on. Way more important things going on in the world. 🙏🏻
Oh yes! Just about everyone who had the issue had already accomplished the preapproval processCurious if you tried the "prepare for Preorder" option?
Not disagreeing with you at all. There’s a reason why I said I ultimately used my “normal card” and that doesn’t happen to be my “Apple Card;” they’re not ready for prime time. I still consider the Apple Card to be a novelty. Do I want my $6? Yes. Will I lose sleep over $6? Nope. Not a great line of thinking take 6-7 bucks times how many orders they "saved" that money.
No way in hell one of the richest companies in the world should get a pass because there are things going on in the world.
Make it right Apple.
iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro pre-orders started today, and while many customers have successfully placed their pre-orders, some have experienced issues when attempting to complete their purchase with an Apple Card or Apple Pay.

Some customers have turned to Twitter to express their frustration with the pre-ordering process, sharing screenshots of errors that they received, such as "there was a problem with the card details you entered" or "something went wrong." Apple's system status page does not yet reflect any widespread issues with the Apple Card or Apple Pay, but it's clear that quite a few customers have been impacted by the issues this morning.
In the U.S. and the U.K., some affected customers are trying to place their pre-order through the iPhone Upgrade Program, but this is not always the case.
There isn't a clear-cut solution to the issues for now beyond switching to a different payment method, but for Apple Card holders, this could mean missing out on 3% Daily Cash. The pre-ordering issues have also resulted in some customers missing out on securing their preferred iPhone 13 configuration for launch day delivery on September 24, as delivery estimates have already started slipping into October for some models.
