Ordered at 8:01am est, I lucked out I had zero issues with using my Apple Card to pre order my phone.
I am on the iUp as well, did the preapproval as soon as I saw it, still failed to take my AppleCard.I had many friends unable to order for a while who were on IUP. I did ACMI and had no issues right at store opening. This year my car was pre authorized during preorder setup on Tuesday, don’t remember that from last year but maybe that helped matters for me.
Same here. I (luckily) got in a 8:01 EDT, had the pre-order thing show up, and paid with the Apple Card.guess I was one of the lucky ones ... worked for me fine at 8:02 EST ... but looking at online forums a ton of people had the issue ... wonder why its only happening for some.
I used Apple Card on the pre pre order, and it went through and charged me the tax back on Tuesday. I don't have a charge for the actual phone yet, but my available balance has dropped $1600.
How? I didn’t even have the option…I did not have any issues with using my Apple Account Balance. Charged up with Apple Gift Cards from Target with 5% RedCard discount!!! 😎😃
And this is the wealthiest tech company on the planet…This happened to me. Best part was this is the response from Apple support.

Finally got through to Apple Card/Goldman phone support and they said there was no record of a failed/declined transaction. They didn’t confirm but certainly sounded like this has been all they’ve been dealing with all morning.
At first I was told Citizens would email me in 24 hours like you.I was able to purchase one device using Apple Card, however, the two Apple Upgrade (Citizens) devices kept failing telling me I will get an email from Citizens in 24hrs why my upgrade could not be completed, granted this is after pre-approval. In the end I ended up buying the two devices on Apple Card Payments but will not be able to leverage the Apple Upgrade Program and loan forgiveness.
But Cook claims and states regularly that Apple provides industry leading customer service and everything they do is to make the lives of its users easier. How can this be?This happened to me. Best part was this is the response from Apple support.

Huh?Folks, I just got finished talking to an Apple Senior Advisor. They assured me this is not a problem at all because they have not received any reports of an issue with using the Apple Card for iPhone pre-orders. They assured me that if this was a problem, they would know about it before any customer would, because Apple literally talks to millions of customers a minute. So, if you’re experiencing an issue, you will need to restart your device. If the issue persists, you will need to erase and reinstall the AppleCard OS only. To do this, you need to plug your Apple Card only (not your device) into iTunes and complete a Restore. Be sure to set-up the Apple Card as new - do not restore from a backup. If the issue persists, they will need to initiate an RTA to Engineering. Because this is a known issue, Engineering will need Apple Card logs. Because you cannot access those, Apple’s official position on the matter is that no further support will be provided until you provide the logs you cannot access.
I thought I had this too until I clicked on the "For Me" tab and my pre-order was waiting there.
