I just want an aluminium watch, as if/when the case get scratched you can buff it out easy. With any type of finish on the watch, you then have a silver scratch in the colour finish. Also like others are saying it now doesn't match my Mac or iPhone!
The screen is visibly bigger on the AW7.You know what?! I have a AW4 and the AW7 does not excite me one bit to actually research what upgrades it entails, it looks like the same watch exterior wise. Sure it might have better/different sensors now but you cant see it.
Can you? It only let me “save” my configuration— no link to buy. Also, it wasn’t live when ore-orders started, and I was hoping for launch day delivery. Sadly, I think they silver SS was already delivering late October when it all started. It was just weird that gold SS had multiple band configs but not silver. You can order it however you want in design studio section if app.
After saving my config, I am redirected to the shopping cart where I can order it. Which exact config did you try?Can you? It only let me “save” my configuration— no link to buy. True. But there are some people who like silver things no matter what the trendy colors are. And others who prefer dark colors devoid of hue.
My guess is starlight is very similar to white gold, which is fine. My wife and I have WG wedding bands.
But no matter what the current trend, car companies always sell white and black cars. And bath fixtures are always offered in chrome. Locksets always offered in polished brass.
Metal watches are always offered in silver color, be it titanium or stainless or white gold. Sport watches are always offered in black or silver. That’s over a century of history for a reason.
I may just get my wife an SE instead. She doesn’t care about always on watchface or blood sugar. So we save $120…
You should see the watch with a white band, like the Nike combination shown elsewhere in this thread, and you'll see the difference.how is this goldish? are people colorblind or something?

I prefer silver or white as well. My iPhone 13 Pro is silver but my new iPad mini will be starlight since I have no choice. I will wait for Apple Watch serie 8 for new design with silver titanium for next year.True. But there are some people who like silver things no matter what the trendy colors are. Yet another new low for MacRumors.
With no trumped up "-gates" to chase after, they are now down to this - - some customers are unhappy with color options.
Worst of all, they use this twitter quote in the front page article to backup their case:
"I mean, not that I'm getting a Watch this year anyway, but I actually don't know what I would pick if I were."MacRumors would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic.
So according to you news would be to copy & paste every Apple press release. Doesn't matter what's the general thinking in one of the main social networks. SillyIt’s pretty sad that random tweets are now considered news.
yes and almost twice the price.I wonder why people are upset with the lack of gold aluminium when there's gold stainless steel...
I‘ve just now realized that Apple also stopped selling the black Solo Loop and black Sports Band. At least with the watch itself you can get upsold to Watch Edition for the matt colors dark grey and silver. But if they don’t offer any black silicon bands anymore, my S6 might be my first and last Apple Watch.
Yes, Apple’s research showed them that the two most popular colors were so hated that they had to go…The thing to remember is that Apple, unlike internet forum members with anecdotal personal choices and limited global insight, is in possession of customer color preferences data and trends after selling many millions of watches (roughly 30 million/year 2020) and phones (roughly 200 million/year 2020), over many years.
I suspect Apple knows what it is doing and in the end will enjoy another record breaking quarter in sales of watches and phones, and continue being one of the most successful companies in the world.
And a significant weight increase. And higher repair/AppleCare costs. And poor resale value.yes and almost twice the price.
You can get knockoffs for much less anyway. Not quite as thick, but I have been wearing knockoff nike style bands for years and they are great. You can choose the main and hole colors at a much wider gamut than Apple.Incredible, huh?
With pre-orders for the Apple Watch Series 7 opening today, dissatisfaction with Apple's new color options has been expressed by some customers and pundits on social media.

The aluminum Apple Watch Series 6 was available in Space Gray, Silver, Gold, Blue, and (PRODUCT)RED aluminum color options, while the aluminum Apple Watch Series 7 overhauled the lineup of colors, and is available in Midnight, Starlight, Green, Blue, and (PRODUCT)RED.
These are the same colors offered with the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13, except there is a Pink option instead of Green. The new iPad mini is also available in a mix of colors, mirroring Starlight and Pink from the Apple Watch Series 7 and iPhone 13, carrying over Space Gray, and introducing a new Purple color.
The Apple Watch's Blue and Red tones have been slightly tweaked from last year's offerings, while Green is a totally new option. Midnight replaces Space Gray with a very dark navy, while Starlight replaces Silver and Gold with a subtle champagne color.
With such significant changes coming to the Apple Watch's color options this year, some customers have expressed confusion and irritation with the new hues. The replacement of Silver and Gold with Starlight has attracted particular ire, with some fans of the previous options being disappointed with the single new champagne-style color. Some fans of Silver have criticized Starlight for being too warm, while some fans of Gold have found it to be too desaturated.
While there are still Silver and Gold stainless steel Apple Watch options this year, Space Black has been replaced by Graphite, except on the Hermés models.
Stainless steel Link Bracelet users have also noted incongruity with some Series 7 models. This is particularly evident with the Graphite Stainless Steel Apple Watch, which no longer matches its accompanying Link Bracelet.
Although the Link Bracelet is a stainless steel band designed to twin with a stainless steel Apple Watch, some users have enjoyed using the band with the Silver aluminum Apple Watch in previous years. With Starlight replacing Silver, some users have noted that the cool silver of the Link bracelet now clashes with the warm tone of Starlight.
Other mismatching band and casing combinations have been noted by users across various social media platforms and websites, with some claiming that the Series 7's colors mismatch with more bands, more severely compared to the color options offered in previous years.
There is now an unprecedented level of fragmentation with Apple's color options across its product lines. The iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 7 now contrast with the iPad Air and AirPods Max models, as well as the 24-inch iMac and iPhone 12, with other devices like the iPad mini overlapping the divide.
Apple effectively now has three separate color palettes for its devices, in addition to the pre-existing tonal differences with the same shade that was common to see with the likes of Space Gray. Other product lines, such as the iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and HomePod mini, also no longer have any matching colors with the aluminum Apple Watch Series 7 or standard iPhone 13 models. This appears to have irked some users who like to have matching colors across multiple Apple devices.
As yet, there are no rumors about what colors Apple's redesigned MacBook Pro and Mac mini machines could be available in. When they do arrive, likely at an event later this month, there may be some more clarity about Apple's plans for color options going forward.

Alright. But the watch still always comes with a band that you pay for. Solo Loop is available in 4 (!) shades of orange but there was no room for the color black? What bigger strategy or concept am I missing here? You can get knockoffs for much less anyway. Not quite as thick, but I have been wearing knockoff nike style bands for years and they are great.
