I think these are for those iPhone 12 users who plan to reduce the volume to save their battery /s

On another note, they look tremendous value at £49 and oozes quality /s

At least two customers who have purchased iPhone 12 cases have received defective cases that do not have speaker holes, which obscures the sound.

An early prototype that accidentally got mixed up with actual product.

Maybe Apple was considering removing the speakers so users would have to buy AirPods, like how it's rumored that Apple wants to remove the lightning port in future iPhones so users will have to buy their MagSafe charger because it'll be more environmentally friendly. ;)

So to the Apple advisor who said this ( from the OP)

“One customer was told by an Apple advisor that the case wasn't meant to have speaker holes, which is, of course, incorrect.”

go home, your drunk as or better yet resign. How can you say something silly like that, of course phone cases are meant to have holes ( or not be covered at all)

I remember when I went with my mum to buy my first iPhone (an iPhone 4) in 2010. As we came out of the store I decided to call my Dad to test out the calls. I remember the earpiece volume being extremely low and almost unusable, which made me really confused and worried. I honestly had no idea what was going on and thought maybe this was just how iPhones were and that it was something I'd have to get used to.

After about an hour it finally realised that the plastic screen protector was still covering the earpiece 😂😂😂.

I suspect a few people may run into something similar with this.

It is a feature of the seamless new design...

Mine has holes, 3 on one side and 5 on the other, not liking this non balanced symmetry, though that's the way they show it on Apple's website (12 Pro)
