Folks, this is the most incredible iOS updated Apple has ever made to iOS. The new Lock Screen customizations allow customers an incredible level of personalization. The new unsend features in Messages and delayed sending in Mail are the kind of incredible pro-level features Apple is known for, making these incredible apps a powerhouse of productivity. The new Focus modes enable an incredible degree of control over what apps, mail, and calendars you see, helping customers better make their iPhones responsive when needed and quiet when needed. With all these incredible advances in iOS, Apple didn’t just stop at software! For the first time ever, Apple produced a once-in-a-generation upgrade to the camera, making it the best iPhone camera Apple has ever released in an iPhone.

If you bask in the warm glow of Apple’s PR, all these silly little bugs will blissfully fade away.

I had to turn off "Always on" (Ironically) for my battery to not drain tremendously. With minimal use battery would drop 20% by my second cup of coffee

My iPhone X is dropping battery significantly faster than the previous ios, and I'm noticing that the phone is warm to the touch quite often. What might have happened once in a blue moon before now happens most days at some point.

Battery drain is most likely related to the Facebook app that is doing who knows what in the background for hours upon hours. The background activity is happening on iOS 15 as well for that app, and they released an app update at the same time as iOS 16 was releasing.

They’re listening to your mic and using your camera in the background even if you’ve denied permissions. Nobody believes me, but they do this and I’m sure of it.

I’ve talked to coworkers about things, for instance one day in the breakroom we were discussing sparkling water, a specific brand. I wasn’t in Facebook while I was using my phone. I never Googled the water brand, I have never purchased the water brand.

Later that day, that evening, I was getting ads in my FB feed of the exact brand we had discussed - and it isn’t popular or a major known brand. There is absolutely no other way unless they were listening through the mic.

FWIW I decided to ditch my iPhone backup and set up my iPhone as new and have no excessive battery drain.
PITA yes, it took me well over an hour to get everything how I wanted it, but everything works great!

I think I saw a John Oliver show about this a few months back.

I believe you that it’s a thing, but I fortunately haven’t experienced this. In fact, my FB usage is so negligible for battery usage that it’s a “-“.

I love my iPhone 14 Pro, but I am finding the battery is draining fairly quickly. But I'm wondering if I'm noticing this now because the percentage is being reflected -- whereas I never knew the percentage on my iPhone 13.

Add unresponsive home swap gesture and swapping between pages as well to the list. The only fix is to press power button to lock the iPhone then unlock it with FaceID. This is with my iPhone 14 Pro max.

The next stabilization update can't come soon enough. I'm running into so many bugs daily and awful battery drain. I just want a stable OS. From just playing some YouTube videos for ~15 min and light news browsing before heading to work I'm already down 25% disgusting.

Then why would you update to a new OS immediately after release?

Also, “disgusting”? Dramatic, much?
