My son has a screen time and other child safety things enabled and I no longer get request for apps to approve. Apple is of no help

This is such a shame. It shouldn’t have to be a gamble when you’re updating to release-ready software. Not to mention how most (?) people probably have auto updates turned on. It’s borderline criminal, I think, to make people’s devices worse with a software update, unwittingly or not.

This is why I’ve held back and am still rocking 15.7. I’m beginning to doubt whether I’ll ever upgrade.

Needs a Snow Leopard release that focuses on quality and stability instead of pushing out new features.

A company with the talent and resources of Apple should be able to do both reasonably well. It shouldn't have to be one (quality/stability) over the other (new features).

While it is nice that Apple supports iPhones as long as they do, it takes away some of the benefit if people are hesitant to update due to quality/stability concerns.

This is why I don't report bugs anymore.

I've taken my time to report like 15 bugs a few years ago and some of them still haven't been fixed.

BTW, the keyboard that goes in landscape while the app is in portrait : I've had this since AT LEAST 2018. On my iPhone 6s, Xr, 12 and now 14 Pro. It's making me crazy why Apple won't fix this.

Your perception of what is a bug and what Apple sees as intended working functionality is why you don't report bugs anymore. That's probably a good thing too, since the less erroneous bug reports filed the better.

As if I only reported normal behavior things that I considered bugs. 😅

Out of 15 things, I reported 1 thing that I simply didn't like the way it was made (the all-new "Eddy Cue" Music App in iOS 7), and 14 bugs, including a critical SpriteKit bug in iOS 9 that would randomly NOT load some assets. I even reduced it in about 10 lines of code for them to test, and they still released iOS 9 without fixing it.

But anyway, if you have a problem with an apple product, tell them rather than ********ing on Twitter: https://www.apple.com/feedback/

They fixed the three I submitted within 2 minor releases (one issue with reminders and one issue with notes)
This. It takes a couple minutes to report issues with details.

Apple probably isn’t scouring forums or threads for issues so if they aren’t getting direct reports, it’s likely off their radar or not prioritized because it’s not a showstopper. The feedback link, the app (beta testers) cases fielded by their support channels and analytics IF turned on are what they go from so the more of us actually experiencing issues AND providing info, the better.

Feel free to s***post too! It feels great to vent. But submitting feedback could maybe be the first step.

iOS 17 is supposed to make iOS 16 stable and won't offer many new features which IMO is a wise decision. Apart from the stability issues I think that they need to reiterate and improve on the existing features rather than throw a bunch of new ones and introduce yet again a new set of problems. Apple is very obviously struggling with fleeing talent especially in the software area, it's very ironic given their unlimited budget which indicates unaddressed management issues.
Yikes . Didn’t know about the software talent exodus . We’ve heard over the past few years of critical people leaving on the hardware and chip side . Wonder if there’s a not-so-great corporate culture over there or if other companies are just throwing more money at them with promises of greater work/life balance

I often try to keep my report as detailed as possible, but not everyone Would do the same. Instead of trying to create some sort of novice mode where stuff is recorded automatically, they rely on user knowing What a feedback should be, essentially wishing every iOS user be a professional software tester. Like what the hell?
Agree I am techie and don't understand why so many questions. Can't they detect some of it?

I gotta say that on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, 16.2 has been the most stable one compared to the earlier builds of iOS 16. I don’t experience any bugs or freezes, and my battery is finally seeing the same levels as on iOS 15.

I am shocked at all these bug reports. I am not having any and I have excellent battery life on my 14PM. How weird.
Yeah I’ve got numerous annoying bugs but I have to give kudos regarding the battery life on mine . It’s awesome

I'm glad the headline was clear, starting with: "Some users....".

You sound surprised. Doesn't MacRumors normally qualify users experiences like this by saying something like "some users"? Have they ever stated "all users" when it was really only some users?

Obviously, user experiences (good and bad) can vary. This article is no different.
