Just some input from another iPad Pro buyer here. I haven't had this issue so far and I've done a full recharge at least twice. Interestingly, I didn't do an iCloud backup restore. My old iPad Mini was kind of a mess from so many apps I installed, so I decided to do a fresh install with the iPad Pro and install only the apps I really use.

I literally just experienced this problem... Apple will get it fixed. It's happened twice already to me, but the first time I thought it was my imagination.

For those who set up their phones and iPads as new that would mean you lose all your music, photos notes and pretty much everything else correct? Or do you back it up on your computer the set it as new then do a restore from your computer? I would hate the thought of losing all contacts, notes and photos every time I bought a new iPhone.

Just one of the reasons why I will never be an early adopter of new Apple tech. I would be extremely annoyed to spend that sort of money and experience issues with something as basic as charging.
This isn't just Apple tech. It's one of the reasons I never buy anything new from anyone, at least not for several months or more.

The other reason is money. In that I don't have any.

I'm going to assume that this kind of things happen because NOTHING IN LIFE IS PERFECT.

It happens to cars, phones, computers, appliances. It's just life. I understand the frustration, but if it happens, take it back.

And my iPad Air 2 won't let me delete apps since the latest iOS 9.1. I can touch (longer) an icon, it will start the wiggle dance, and that was it. No more input possible. The wiggle dance of all icons will last until the battery is drained. Needs hard reboot.

And no, the other possibility (as suggested in the official Apple forums) won't help here, since I'm testing apps (I have 80 gigs of apps on board, hundreds, literally). Deleting apps should still work via system settings (the other method) but the list is too long and confusing (for me)—there isn't even a simple search function. I didn't try it yet, but people in the Apple forums said that even a system reset (set up as new) won't help. Awaiting iOS 9.1.1 urgently. Maybe tomorrow?

Please, Apple, get your things done. iOS App Store and Mac App Store got unreliable as well; never seen that before (watching since eight years carefully).

I ordered an iPad Pro and hope that it will work well. I tested an iPhone 6S Plus and sent it back—the optical video stabilizer works worse that the digital video stabilizer in my good ol' iPhone 6!

And I'm remembering the times when such fears (will it work?) weren't an issue at all…

One of my few rants about Apple, sorry.

Not for me. El Crapitan hosed my ability to use Apple Mail. Confirmed by an Apple genius.

Same here. El Capitan has been a nightmare on my machine...

I've actually had it happen to my old 1st Gen iPad Air. It was just a month or so ago... scared the bejeezus out of me (thought it was dead!).
Same here, except it was the original ipad. Took it into Apple, they did a hard reset (when exactly did we stop saying reboot?) and all was good. But it was scary that something I had spent so much might have been dead. Thankfully have not had the issue since.

I'm in this same boat. It's happened 4 times for me so far that I've woke up in the morning, and tried turning it on and it wouldn't without a restart even though it charged 100%

Looks like we might be looking at some sort of OS glitch, I have seen the same thing happen to an iPhone 6s.

Ok, I can confirm that this has happened to me also *AND* I used the iCloud restore. I'm going to try setting it up as a new iPad(no iCloud restore) and see if the problem is fixed.

Haven't experienced this issue so far. Took the battery down to around 35% the first day I had the Pro, then charged it overnight and it awoke normally. I used the 12W charger that's included with the Pro. Older iPad chargers are 10W.

I have no issues with mine, I set it up as a new device.

I set up a a new device and have not seen this problem.

It depends on where your things are stored. All my notes and photos are in iCloud and my files in Dropbox so it's a pretty simple process to set up as a new device. You do lose your Messages history though.

Mine died yesterday. $300 for a device swap.

I have an iPro Pro 128GB LTE that I did restore from an iCloud backup when I initially set it up. Last night was the first night I plugged it in overnight for a full recharge and woke up this morning to this issue. The iPad appeared "dead" and I have to press and hold power and home button for a while to hard reboot it. It booted up ok and showed 100%.
