I am having multiple touch issues with both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPad mini 6.

Iphone in particular does not respond to tap to wake if it has been placed face down for a short period of time. iPad mini not so bad but does not always respond to initial taps!

Spoke with Apple Support who confirmed they had received multiple enquiries relating to the issue:

"Please give me a few minutes to check this here on my end. As I think we've been receiving multiple contacts regarding the same issue."

"Thank you so much for waiting. I really do appreciate it. Upon carefully checking, this concern is now being reviewed by our engineering team to have this issue addressed. The fix should be included in the upcoming software rereleases. Thank you so much for bringing this up just so we can track on how many users are currently affected so we'll be able to release the latest updates as soon as possible."

"No need to worry about the hardware since most issues are only from the software itself."

The option to update to iOS 15.0 is tempting while fully up to date on iOS 14.8

My prediction of iOS 15.0 a half-baked release and iOS 15.1 to follow a week later was already incorrect since iOS 15.1 beta 1 was released... But I guess the first part was correct somewhat...

The changes they made to Safari was initially the reason I decided to skip iOS 15.0 and from what I am reading about iOS 15.0 it seems I have made the right decision...

And with this, my theory/opinion of odd and even numbered releases seem to be correct... iOS 10 - good, iOS 11 - bad, iOS 12 - good, iOS 13 - bad, iOS 14 - good, iOS 15 - bad

I experienced this issue with YouTube a few times now. I thought it was YouTube's issue because the touch event appeared to register. The YouTube video would change colors like it is being tapped, but nothing is happening.

Wait, this pattern is used to be reserved for Microsoft Windows!

If I long press the App Store icon and select Updates, I frequently get prompted to confirm I want to delete the App Store app…
I reported that as a bug in the betas. Was particularly there if you held then swiped, rather than removed your finger after the "long press"

This is 100% accurate. iPhone 12 updated to iOS 15 and immediately have touch screen issues. Sometimes takes multiple swipes, sometimes it’s laggy, sometimes apps will stick halfway.
Same here, observed on my iPhone 12 after IOS 15. Doesn't happen with all apps.

This is really noticeable for me on the Settings --> Battery screen

Try selecting individual day bars (mine are tiny because I'm not a heavy user) - sometimes it works, other times you're tapping away and nothing happens. A lot of times you have to double press to get it to register.

Edit: 12 Pro Max here.
The only thing I see there are apps told not to background refresh, like pandora, REFRESHING ANYWAY! geeze...

Both my wife and I had something similar before updating our iPhones to iOS 15. Her iPhone 12 Pro Max and my 10 S would occasionally not respond to anything. We would have to close the active app and then it would respond again
Same here. The issue you describe definitely predates iOS 15. I noticed it in Safari usually, but also in third-party apps.

You nailed it. That is exactly what happens. Try unlocking the phone from sleep, but don't lift your finger. It freezes until you put the phone to sleep and awake again. Apple please fix!

You might want to take a look at this:

Thank you very much for sharing the information. I sincerely appreciate the help.

Unfortunately, the final line of the page indicated "The program covers affected iPhone X devices for 3 years after the first retail sale of the unit."
Mine is approaching its 4th birthday this November. 😢

No issues with Apple Watch unlock neither these touch issues with my 13PM and iOS 15.0. I wonder what causes these bugs for so many of you.

Count me in for this, I felt like something was off so much so, I was looking for like the accessibility settings to tune the touch sensitivity. Not only does my touch sometimes not register, but I seem ‘less accurate’ when tapping on specific things and it’s frustrating

My daughter noticed something which is probably a different issue. She types very fast. She is plagued by the iPhone occasionally producing numbers when she is typing letters. She has experimented thoroughly and is convinced it is not user error. I guess I should read through the 5 pages of posts to find anyone else mentioning that :)

P.S. This is a new iPhone 13 with the latest iOS

silly of me to update to a .0 release, should have waited

iOS 14.1 was released 5 weeks after 14.0
iOS 13.1 was released 5 days after 13.0
iOS 12.1 was released 6 weeks after 12.0
iOS 11.1 was released 6 weeks after 11.0

Software hasn’t been on the same level since Scott Forstall left.

Has anyone else noticed this bug (I’ve just noticed it now): the one time code (that you receive in texts) doesn’t show up as a suggestion on the keyboard. It worked without issue on iOS 14.

Mine never did that. Odd.
