i'm guessing... and hey, i'm just spitballing here... but after TEN iphones, and a brand new screen that everyone ELSE says is perfect... you still see defects.... is there ANY chance that the problem is YOURS? I'm just sayin... when you're the ONLY person who doesn't think you're an idiot... you're probably wrong.

good lord... are BLACKBERRY owners on here talking **** now? SERIOUSLY? ouch. just... ouch.

THIS IS TOTAL NONSENSE. YOU ARE LYING TO YOURSELF.

but hey... i get making up stories to justify your actions. it makes your brain hurt less, i'm sure. i'm sure if you try, you could justify just about anything! wow!

that guy camped out on a sidewalk for a week in june in dallas. he's been punished enough, believe me. that's got to be one of the most miserable ideas ever.

i walked outside the other day and it was like the sun punched me in the face.

Actually, us fanboys are telling him to relax, because he will be able to get it replaced for a brand new phone.

it's like someone who doesn't own and iphone can't understand that we can just get it replaced. like, that easy. hey dude.... WE DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. apple does it for us. :)

wow, that is tough. i have to connect my phone to the computer for an hour. good lord, what a pain. ie. wow, you are lazy.

Holy wacamoli, does someone really think clicking on a button and going to get a coke is a pain, hahaha. ;) No one who has has exchange their phone or ipad would for real would think that its a pain, actually its as painless as it can be, sure if you have 15 gig of music it can take time, so what its worth it every time, to take the phone back to the car and listen to that sweet sweet music. :D Bring up a good game of farcry 2 online  and let the phone do what it will do.

I'm glad I have to wait here in Canada this could get interesting LOL!!!!! Now there's reports of the reception crapping out when it's held in your bare hands because the antenna is the outside stainless ring.
:eek::eek::eek:

Many people already demonstrated that hand touching the antennas affects reception and not just the bar display. Just look at this video for the proof. The guy shows that when he holds the phone in his hand at best the down/up load speed goes down sharply and at worst the phone is not able to communicate at all.

So much for the beauty of the phone if it's gotta be wrapped in one of those stupid bumpers....... Ugh.

It looks like a software problem to me

I've only gotten this to happen twice today. Speeds were never affected. Hell I just noticed latency was much better with one bar.

If this is the future of any display-oriented item Apple makes, I may just rethink getting another display driven Mac down the road.

This is really sad, from the early 2009 iMacs to the current gen to the 2010 laptops and now the phones? Very embarrassing QC.

I love Apple's products but I really wish they'd fix and thoroughly test their items with displays/lighting (amongst other things) before they rush them out. Maybe they are being stretched too thin in the R&D departments.

And I hope everyone who has this issue with an iPhone gets a replacement quickly.

Never thought my picture would cause so much of an uproar. Heh.

I promise that there was no doctoring or photoshopping. Just as it appeared out of the box. I'm sure Apple will take care of it as they're able to, just sucks that I live nowhere near an Apple Store.

I say forgo the new iphone and just get a new mac mini. With their new smaller form factor, you can rock it in your pocket. Maybe add a bumper to it also... you know, to reduce scratches. Why settle for the crippled iOS when you can rock out Snow Leopard. Now what to do about the monitor. Hey! I can wear a backpack!!!!!!

Spoke to AT&T. You have 2 options. Go through their in-house buyers remorse BS or the Apple warranty. Option 3 is tie it to a brick and find your closest Apple or AT&T store LOL. Disclaimer: I do not condone option 3. ;-P

I'm sure 5-10% of new iPhones have a defect of some kind. I'm glad a got a good one. I'm sure Apple will make good on the issues.

I'm not sure if you realize that is wacked out high for a defect rate. 5% of 600K is 30K units. 10% would be 60K, and that is just w/ preorders!

Let's hope the defect rate isn't that high or Apple's got big problems. A typical manufacturer defect rate is around .5 to 1%.

On the bright side, with so many people will be returning their iPhone 4s, maybe we'll see refurbished ones sooner than later. :)

Nothing like lining up days in advance to get an iphone with a discolored screen...Once again another reason why never to buy a new apple product on day 1

... or to line up days in advance for something you could have ordered online and had shipped to you.

Here's a few pics. It really is hard to see, and even more difficult to photograph. Obviously it is much easier to see on a light background.

It isn't yellow, but more like someone hit the edge of the screen with Photoshop's Burn tool.

Here's also a pic of the screen compared to my 1G iPod Touch screen; note the difference in the App Store icons.

Regarding the reception issues, I don't understand how holding the phone would lower the reception. If anything, your body's electricity should help the iPhone's reception... the human body is a pretty good antenna.

As per the screen issues, I really hope that when mine arrives tomorrow everything is copacetic.

Thankfuly I don't have this problem. My bars are better, too. Even touching both sides. But then my reception here is a lot better than the metal building I was in earlier.
