Been carrying my note 3 for almost a year in my front pocket exclusively, no bent phone....

I try a lot of different phones. I have had the Note 3, OnePlus, OPPO Find 7 and all are 5.5 or larger. I carried them in my front pants pockets and have never had one bend or even thought it would bend.....
I don't wear tight jeans either....

we aren't even talking about bend tests. we are talking about simple every day use. if the iphone bends when put in certain pockets or if you sit a certain way then its clearly a flawed phone.

honestly ever since job's passing, has there been a product that has wowed you? the fact that there are multiple commercials mocking siri and yet apple cant even update siri speaks volumes to how badly apple lacks in talent and in the innovation department.

this clearly shows you dont have a iOS device running iOS 8, because Siri has been dramatically improved in iOS 8 to have real time text translation and better speech recognition, Siri actually works quite dam well in iOS 8 and is quite accurate now.

and yeah, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus completely wow me with its iPod touch like design and beast SoC and the best smartphone camera on the market and amazing LCD screens.

you act like this happens to everyone putting their phone in their front pocket people who have a i6/i6 plus, Ive been putting my i6 in my front pocket few times already for periods of time and it seems perfectly fine to me. I can see the 6 plus though having some more pressure on the pocket though since its pretty large ,bigger phones will have this issue, this does not seem to be a widespread issue at all yet,

just because it didnt happen to you doesnt mean it hasnt happened to other people,

theres been reports of M8's bending, EVO 4g LTE's bending, Xperia Z1/Z2 bending, and other phones aswell

Bending issues aside, which for the record are just wrong, but I cannot believe people leave mobile phones in their pockets for that length of time, especially when in situations that they dont need to be ie: when driving in a car for extended periods.
I know radiation issues are difficult to prove, but no way am I comfortable leaving phones that close to the "family jewels" for any longer than I absolutely have to.

Regardless of whether it bends or not, has anyone noticed that "classic" Apple products had a somewhat boxy design (iphone 4s, imac 2011, macbook pro non-retina) that's been replaced by a paper-thin design (imac 2013, iphone 6+). I wonder why nearly every "boxy" classic Apple design has been nixed in the past few years.

oh lord. and what about plastic phones that break?

you cant change physics. dont bend it.

If they made it out plastic the same people would complain about that, believe me, they find anything they can to to take issue with!

When the iPhone 3G came out the same people complained about the it, being plastic and cheap feeling, after the original aluminum iPhone!

People will always find a problem with something, for a lot people it in their nature to complain!!!

Yes the ipad Air and the iphone 6 have both wowed me, i've been buying apple products long enough to know that the second someone finds a flaw in them they try and make a big deal about it. Then some time passes and everyone forgets and Apple still sells a record number. The iphone 5 had the same "bendable" issue. These phones arent made to be indestructible. Take care of your device and it will work and look great for the entire two + years. I have never had a problem with everyday use not falling victim to one of these "terrible" design flaws.

Why. Is Aluminium a more desirable product?

Think about it. As there is absolutely no reality to this statement.
It is a very abundant and very common metal on the earth.

That is incorrect.

The pure metal itself is not abundant - it is almost always found in bauxite ore and is extremely difficult to extract.

It was only first produced in 1825 and was extremely rare and valuable...

Aluminium was selected as the material to use for the 100 ounces (2.8 kg) capstone of the Washington Monument in 1884, a time when one ounce (30 grams) cost the daily wage of a common worker on the project. The capstone, which was set in place on 6 December 1884, in an elaborate dedication ceremony, was the largest single piece of aluminium cast at the time, when aluminium was as expensive as silver.

learn about fulcrums and levers. the 4 is much shorter. it still blends...

Maybe you should learn something!! If that is the case they should have made it even stonger.!!

Why don't you learn about moncoque construction and how holes in the skin greatly reduce the strength an object.

Why do bigger aircraft have thicker skin? Because of fulcrums and levers! A larger phone should be designed stronger.just like a larger aircraft is designed stronger then a small Cessna. You would make a great accident investigator. Well what did you expect!! Look at that big airplane ! We were only suppose to look at it, not fly it!!

No more serious than people sitting on their car hoods and expecting them not to bend or dent. Seriously, would you put a banana in your pocket and do all that and then expect it not to be deformed?

Anytime you put an object in a small space (relative to the object's size) and then move that space around or bend in an unusual (for the object) way, then there is always a chance of an accident.

This is no different than putting a credit card (which is flexible) in a wallet, then getting pissed when it's bent in a curve after a month.

I have no sympathy.

Cell/smartphones phones were meant to, um, put in your pocket. At least that's what most everybody has done since, well, cell phones came into existence. In case you haven't noticed, everybody does it!

Don't know of too many people checking out new car purchases by sitting on the hood. Imagine somebody saying, "I'll just have to buy this car...not only is the hood comfortable, but it hardly bends!"

I also expect bananas to eventually deform in a pocket, especially when sitting down, but not a phone. Phones do not equal bananas or ice cream cones.

I have a relatively tight pants and I can tell you that there's NO WAY you can bend it unless the pants are so tight that it's essentially SQUEEZING the phone hard against your thigh. The amount of force required to bend it such that there's NO WAY you can not notice the pressure of the phone being exerted on your body. It would hurt your thigh.

Again, I'm saying this as someone who actually has a 6+ unlike MOST of you here.

That's only if this is actually true. It's all hearsay. I'll believe it if someone reputable can duplicate it. No, using your hands to bend it is not the same thing. You can probably bend most phones if you force it enough.

Well to be fair, pretty much every iPhone I've owned has had poor design issues with them, I had a white 3GS and had the "known Apple Issue" of the plastic cracking around the volume and power buttons, then I had an iPhone 4 which many people complained about the back glass, then we had anttenagate and the home button broke after about 18 months both of these were "known Apple Issues", then we had the iPhone 5 which had edges that chipped and scratched after being brushed on a table lightly and the power button would break after a few months, again both these were "known Apple Issues"

So yeah, that has been my experience with the iPhone, in fact they have been the most poorly made phones I've ever owned and I've owned a lot. So bending iPhones is no real surprise when it's Apple...

Would I buy another? Well if the iPhone 6 had OIS I would be tempted as the camera is very very good...

So what happened to 'premium build quality' ? Polycarb would've been better but of course its not as shiny and expensive looking.

Apple only makes this worse with those huge needless bezels. The 6+ is comically large for what it contains.

slow news day

...nothing better to report on but overweight people ruining their phones by sitting on them.
