I just tried bending my m8. Nada, nothing. This is clearly a pretty big apple fail to let this flaw out. Yes the m8 is a 'full 32% thicker', which translates into slightly thicker in the real world, but MUCH, MUCH stronger.

I did hold a 6 in my hand today and it felt VERY nice, probably a little nicer than my m8. But even without this flaw I have zero buyers remorse - after all its just a damn phone that I will be replacing in 2 years anyway, and neither Apple, Samsung or HTC is sharing their profits with me.

I would have to agree. I have had my iPhone 6 plus for several days now. It is in my front pocket or back pocket of my jeans during classes at school. 4-6 hours at a time. Sometimes I have a case on it, and sometimes I don't. It is not bent nor does feel like I am putting any pressure on it when sitting. Either this person is wearing some serious emo skinny jeans or something fishy is going on.

If story is true which is a big if, he was at a wedding and unlikely to have been wearing jeans.

I thought for sure this time we would at least see a liquidmetal inside frame, but, no, weak frame. Kinda sucks.

...I can't wait for liquidmetal instead of aluminum back & sides, then it will bounce instead of break, but, I may be waiting for iPhone 10 at this rate.

youll likely hear that the Chinese spit out a LOT of out of spec. Aluminum Alloy for the chassis

getting the perfect mix in specific aluminum alloys is actually DAHMN HARD

In that case, maybe it's really best I decided to wait for production to ramp up, not in a hurry, but, plan to get iPhone 6 (4.7) later this year, by then, perhaps they will work this out. I do like to put my phone in my front pocket, sometimes tight, surprisingly, my 2 yr old iPhone 5 hasn't bent; (no case most of that time, just full body invisible shield.)

Says who? :D According to a lot of evidence, fat people are also "in" (not a dig at fat people, the world has them - no problem - I am one of them)

Most people that aren't fat and have fashion sense. Also 'skinny' pants has expanded to all sorts of fashionable wears, not just girl pant wearing screamo kids a decade ago.

Re: topic, this is pretty hilarious. I would expect a premium phone to be able to withstand being in a pocket all day - no matter how roughly treated.

I think there are more bent forum members than iPhones. What a bunch of whiners. Can't wait for tomorrow's
iPhone 6's are bending story.

I don't "refuse" anything, except to be talked down to by some supercillious know-it-all person on a forum. It's not what you say, it's your tone. You must like stuffing words into peoples' mouths... I bid you a jolly good day, and take care - you have no further purpose to interact with me - I'm not losing my peace over you :)

Talk about sounding like an ***

Well...that didn't take long

My local CBS affiliate just ran a 10 pm news promo talking about "bend gate". *sigh*

And for those on here wanting to see the Note 3, here is Lewis from Unbox Therapy trying to bend the Note 3:

It is hilarious to see a lot of the comments to that video on Youtube - the negative ones all go: 'Yes, but it is because the 6 plus is a lot slimmer'

6 plus: 7.1 mm thickness
Note 3: 8.3 mm thickness

Yeah, I am sure that huge difference of 1.2 mm is all that is to it...

People really are doing this wrong. If I put a phone in my pocket and it felt uncomfortable enough to cause it to bend I'd sure as hell take it out by then.

"New" tech? Aluminium unibody?

If ya say so.

Plus one to Samsung I think.

Wow, really dumb, the pressure in your pockets is probably 10 times doing it with your hands (and its longer too), so what he hell is your point?

BTW, I've cracked the back of a 3GS plastic phones by repeatedly sitting on it. So, Hey! Plastic cracks instead of bends and it takes slightly longer, but you'll still break it.

Apple could easily spin this into a positive if they add additional internal bracing when the 6S and 6S+ models are released. They could tell everyone that the new iPhones are stronger and now pocket carrying won't be an issue. Everyone with a bent 6 or 6+ will upgrade early and ones that have been too afraid to carry their 6 or 6+ in their pocket will upgrade for the improved S "Stronger" model... Millions sold and billions in profit!

I will take a metal and glass built smartphone than a plastic one. I'm not idiotic enough to slap it on my back pocket and sit on it. This is a sophisticated piece of technology, and if you treat it like a piece of plastic, like a back pocket comb from the 70's, then yeah it will break or bend when you sit on it. Go sit on your Laptop, Flat screen TV, Tablet...see how that holds up. :p

How about looking up how many phablets from other manufacturers have this issue... #notnew

I used to have this massive Sony phablet, much bigger than the iPhone 6 Plus. It was known to bend. In the owners' forum people had a calm discussion on the issue and generally reached a conclusion that it's not unreasonable to expect users to be careful about avoiding putting a lot of pressure on a thin, large phone. Unlike that thread, the tone in this Macrumors thread is far more accusatory and the tempers are flying high, perhaps it's to be expected.
