Some iPhone XS and XS Max Deliveries May Be Delayed Until Monday in the United States [Updated]

Woot! My status just updated back to Friday 9/21 for delivery.

I think it's just UPS systems being overwhelmed. It had been showing 9/21 until this morning, when it departed Alaska around 8:52am and said delivery status unknown. But about 5 minutes ago it is now saying it's back on for delivery tomorrow. :)

My earlier post shows scheduled for the 24th, but it just updated to “Scheduled Delivery”
I don’t know if this makes me feel better or worse. Took tomorrow off just for the heck of it....

Click on the UPS only button and limit it to UPS flights. There are currently seven aircraft in the air going between Anchorage and Louisville (the NA UPS hub), that left between 2PM and 4:30PM AKDT. Your phone is probably on one of those. Hopefully your tracking will update again (and maybe we'll get more accurate dates) when the plane lands and they are scanned in. My wayward phone "left" ANC at 8:52am, so it's likely on the ones that left before 3pm (I know a lot of people's phones "left" ANC around 3). So hopefully in the next hour I'll get an update.

Very confusing just checked mine again and it switches from Monday to unavailable and now back to Friday still shows departed Anchorage Alaska at 8:52 AM for reference I live in New York. Please anyone let me know if yours has updated to show any similar changes.

Who would you use instead? Fed-Ex has repeatedly had similar problems and UPS and Fed-Ex are the only 2 delivery services that cover a significant part of the US (neither one really covers the whole country) and has the vehicles to have a chance to do it.

It’s unfortunate really. Haven’t heard fed up before. Lol
 
I also got pushed back to the 24th. Here’s my last destination info, anyone else with a 3:26pm Alaska departure?

working in the transportation industry I suspect this pushback to Monday has to do with tracking system and the estimated delivery time. If a plane is late for some reason and past the cut off for a plane to get UPS tracking system automatically push out the estimated arrival date to the next business day. Given that the 2:10 pm departure date from Anchorage has a scheduled arrival time of 12:56 a.m. this may have caused UPS tracking system to just push the dates out. That only what can I suspect as to what has occured. It will be interesting to see what happens in the morning.
 
So, in the course of reading over this thread I've seen my delivery go from saying Monday to Unavailable and now it's back to showing Friday. Here's to hoping everyone else gets back to Friday, too. And that UPS actually shows up.

Same here this has been a crazy and chaotic ride have never had this kind of an issue with an iPhone preorder, hoping for all our phones arrive tomorrow!

Yep, mine just snapped back to Friday delivery. Out of the doghouse for now...
 
If mine left Alaska at 3:27, that puts it into Kentucky around 2am I think, wonder if that’s to late and my new 9/24 date is accurate. It’s coming to Charlotte

See my previous post. Planes haven't landed yet.

UPS tracking says it "left" anchorage, but that means it left the UPS Sort facility. That's not when it got on a plane, nor is it when the plane actually took off. Like I said before, there's 7 planes that left in a 2 1/2 hour span, all headed to Louisville. More location updates should start right around midnight EST.
