Must be horrible to work at Apple on the iPhone or iOS in the days after a launch. I would probably get anxious disabling Airplane Mode in the morning for fear of waking up to this kind of "news".
Everything gets put under the microscope - a raster electron microscope.
... and this why I’m sticking to my iPhone X .And they say the non "S" buyers are the guinea pigs for a new design.
... and this why I’m sticking to my iPhone X .
There is nothing compelling in xs to make me switch/upgrade as usual.
Waiting for new iPad Pro12’9 with the baited breath though
Wireless charging in a OKMy Wife wants my phone (iPhone 8 plus) So I am at a holding pattern waiting to see what the fix is for this issue. I wonder if it affects wireless charging as well.
Why are you defending a trillion dollar company?
Any bug in any Apple product should always be blown out of proportion. Many problems in the past Apple has taken them YEARS to acknowledge. Millions of customers over the years had to waste their time and shell out thousands of dollars to fix faulty graphic cards, swelling batteries, and broken antennas only for Apple to acknowledge the problem years later. Without apologizing and without compensating people.
Why do you assume it can be fixed via software? Had it not crossed your mind it's a hardware issue?
I was walking the other day and noticed my foot hurts, i thought it is a cable lolI was having problems the other day charging from a battery pack. I thought something was wrong with the cable...
Quick answer - SOFTWARE ISSUE!!! Will be resolved in next iOS update, it is resolved in current betaI was just about to order a XS Max and now... I'll wait until this is resolved. There's seems to be differing reports going on here and I don't know how many are plants and how many are real. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle (isn't it always).
Don't be fooled into thinking that every post saying they have it is real... just like the a certain witch hunt movement we shouldn't believe everybody. But we should believe that it's definitely happening.
I'm actually more concerned about the wifi/LTE issue. I'll be using the new phone solely as my internet connection for work (will get a stonking 50gig of data per month at LTE speeds) and it has to work smoothly with tethering otherwise I'm Danny La Rooted.
I literally typed 118 characters including a quote from his title. I’m not worked up over his video or what he wrote, I’m more angry that people like you are shoving words in my mouth or using a crisis situation to try and make a point.
There are a lot bigger issues in this world than a YouTube video, yes. However using other people’s plight to make yourself look better is just terrible.
Okay, I screwed up. There were people referring to "Lew" and so forth, and I mistakenly thought they were referring to Louis Rossmann. My bad. I think, though, that my comments were kind of apropos, though this guy isn't especially an engineer. Sorry. Not enough coffee this morning. Cheers.
I don't have that issue, probably cause I have a public beta tester IOS 12.1.
Anyway I don't think these is a big deal.
You’re joking, right?Seriously glad I've been using Samsung phones exclusively since BlackBerry days.
Tap it before charging, problem solvedPlugging in your phone before you sleep, then waking up to it not charged. That’s not a big deal?
This is so right. Lord knows my BMW isn’t perfect. It’s great, but not perfect. To be honest, it's kinda sad that most people here resort to the "It's $2,000 so it should be perfect".
That shows that most of you do not buy luxury goods often. Being $2k does not mean that it's going to be perfect. Nothing is perfect. Yes that bug is annoying, but what really matters is how and how long it's going to take for Apple to fix the issue.
I constantly buy what people would consider luxury goods, and sometimes defects happens. What matters is that they replace the good/fix it (even 4-5 years after I've bought it), whereas if I would get the same issues at, let's say H&M, they'd probably just laugh and do nothing about it.
Also, remember that Apple will probably patch this in the next week or so, whereas if this issue was happening with an Android device, it could take up to two months before it would be patched so... Let that sink it.
You’re joking, right?
Samsung phone? Really? You’re actually using this crap?

Tap it before charging, problem solved
Haha, the EU standard is by far the best plug you can get, the UK one might be stronger but it's too bulky, US is indeed one of the worst ones, and the states supposed to be all in on safety, well, not on their plugs.
As for the issue at Hand, my Xs has no problem charging, what it does have is bad call quality, I bought a (Folio) case for it, microphones are all free but people complain they can't always hear me well, I found out you shouldn't flip the lid to the back, this causes the microphone on the back in between the lenses to be (partly) blocked so call quality goes down the drain, if I mover the microphone which is nearest to my mouth (underside) just an inch people also complain, will be going back later on this week.
Yeah, incredibly difficult task to achieve -1 tap...That's right. It's a handy feature![]()
Lol to all exploding Samsung userslol @ all these people defending Apple to the death.
Let’s be real here... Would you not complain if your phone didn’t charge? (Think outside the Apple box for this one.)[doublepost=1538322309][/doublepost]I need!!!!! clicks!! on my youtube channel!!! so I just complaint!!!!!!-first world problems or actually spoil little brats
Anti-Apple hatred? Defensive much? I have pre-ordered every iPhone since the 4 (excluding 4S), the original SS Apple Watch, new SS series 4, and have a MacBook Air, Mac mini, and the newest iPad... man, I must really hate Apple. The more serious issue has been reported as being much rarer occurrence. And if that happens to you, you can walk in to the Apple store and they would replace it with a brand new phone on the spot. So for you to keep emphasizing the cost of the phone, as if you are “out” that money, is very disengeneous of you. You are not out anything.
As for expecting a new electronic device to never ever have any bug/issue... give me a break. Spare your anti Apple hatred.
I don’t think it’s the slightest bit unreasonable to expect your phone to charge when you plug it in.That's true of course, and nothing's gonna be perfect. However, we pay a large premium for Apple products, which have gotten increasingly more expensive over the last few years. Therefore, people tend to expect more from Apple, whether the expectations are reasonable or not.
So you didn’t watch the video. Gotcha.I’m not downplaying anything and if you think I am you’re obviously not paying attention
Its a big deal sure, I never said it wasn’t and you’re putting words in my mouth. But it’s not a serious issue unless it’s hardware or it doesn’t charge at all. 5 out of 8 phones? Where are you getting bull stats like that because I’ve seen most people say they don’t have a problem. If you’re gna get stats from a forum about the issue obviously the results are gna be screwed towards more people having the problem.
I’m not downpaying it, of course it’s a problem that’s needs attention, every bug and problem deserves to be fixed, but your acting like I said it’s no biggie when I CERALY didn’t and you’re antagonizing me for it. I siad it’s a big deal, but not a serious problem yet, it’s a difference in words and you’re completely over reacting to my view on it because a few damn words
This is by far the worst feature of Apple products: its rabid sheep fanbase, who get deeply and personally insulted by any semi-negative comment about Apple.lol @ all these people defending Apple to the death.
