Glad I picked up a 14” M1 Pro MacBook Pro a few weeks ago. I was going to order a Mac Studio, but needed something sooner than it would arrive. Got the 14” Pro and it is an amazing machine! Still going to get a Studio once shipping times decrease but pretty happy now that I didn’t wait!

Ming Chi Kuo is filled with nothing but negative rumors right now. iPhone SEs aren’t selling. Airpods 3 aren’t selling. The iPhone non-Pro 14s may stick with the A15 chip. The new MacBook Air will stick with the M1 processor. All in all the second half of the year appears to possibly be a fairly bad one for Apple (if the rumors turn out to be true).

Ya their vaccines they use there aren't really good. I remember reading awhile back they were only around 50% effective, and that was before Delta came out. So they are even worse with Delta and Omicron.

As far as being mandatory, I thought they were also, but I keep reading that a lot of elderly aren't vaccinated, so who knows.

- I'm for sure not part of that "we", M2 Macs ship in fall
- The production lines for the Mini, MBA and MBnotP will just switch over to making M2 based stuff or not if there is another lockdown wherever those are made
- These lockdowns should end soon and if they don't everything gets delayed which no reason to skip innovating
I would like if these products were in market yesterday. But not even Apple is immune (for lack of a better word) to supply chain issues around the world. I hope they figure it out, maybe moving manufacturing and packaging to the USA would be helpful. But even if they were to aspire do that, it would take years before any products are unleashed from a USA assembly line.

Apple should introduce a program called make your own MacBook Pro. They send you all the parts and you make yourself and charge you double the price. ?
Given how many screws are supplied in most laptops, I sure you’ll easily run into the situation of where does this additional screw go that was kitted for people trying to accomplish that. :D

I've been waiting for my cool new recliner since the middle of last June because of rationing of foam for furniture. Frankly, I'm glad I got my Mac Studio last week before Covid put it on the same wait list.

We were going to buy a new sofa but didn’t want to wait the 6+ months it would take to get it.

China's upside down on vaccinations. More young are vaccinated than old, so elderly are very vulnerable and that can put more pressure on the healthcare system. Secondly, China's sinovac vaccine is grossly inferior to Moderna and Pfizer. Their hubris/arrogance in not using mRNA vaccines is really hurting them now, since the isolation measures that worked with Delta and earlier variants are ineffective with Omicron.

Covid didn't halt production. It's been with us continuously for a couple of years. Actions by local authorities halted production.

Or the Apple Refurbished store has a great selection right now with immediate delivery.
Thank you so much for suggesting this!!! I had looked a few weeks ago, and they didn’t have the configuration I was looking for. Now they have the one I was looking for with a bigger hard drive for almost the same money, and it will arrive on Friday!!! I just bought it, and will cancel the one that I ordered on March 12 (that is in processing, scheduled for delivery April 21-29, but will probably be delayed).

I ordered a 16" with the 10/32/16 Max & 64GB on March 4th. My card got charged Monday April 11th. My order still says processing with delivery April 22-29th.

At a client it's been common for a Mac to arrive before Apple's order site shows that it shipped. Fingers crossed...

My Studio Ultra has been stuck in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong since April 4. They are no longer even giving an estimated delivery date. Yes, they have charged my CC. Not that I mind. Better to have the payment out of the way. I do hope that if the delivery is no longer possible, they give me a refund. I hope it does not come down to that.

My order for a MBP 16" with add-ons was recently pushed back by a month. As least my MBP mid 2012 is still plugging along.

sounds like aapl runs a tight order to delivery schedule - it could be a good thing or not so good thing

What I find interesting is that Dell notebooks are requiring 2 months after order to ship also. Its not just Apple. Just configured a Dell notebook and they quoted delivery date of June 10. (no I am really not going to order one!)
