I ordered a custom model 16" back in mid January and it didn't arrive until mid March, about 9 weeks later. A 5 week delay for a custom configuration is nothing. :)

I’m sure Tim Cook will figure out what to do next stage, he’s damn smart business mind.

This is just the beginning. Apple is too reliant on China for the supply of the majority (if not all) of its products. The stupid policies in China will result in mass lockdowns for a prolonged period of time in many cities. This will never end.

We're experiencing the same issue. We ordered computers for our office the first week of February. They haven't shipped and now have been pushed back to mid-May. For a logistics guy, Tim Cook is pretty terrible at diversifying their suppliers.

He's got several suppliers, all over China. ?‍♂️

Yikes. I almost placed an order for a 16" M1 Max a few weeks ago, and it had a pretty long lead time (mid-May, iirc). On a whim, I checked B&H Photo... and literally had the configuration I wanted in my hands the next day. Talk about lucking out.

My Studio Ultra has been stuck in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong since April 4. They are no longer even giving an estimated delivery date. Yes, they have charged my CC. Not that I mind. Better to have the payment out of the way. I do hope that if the delivery is no longer possible, they give me a refund. I hope it does not come down to that.
My Ultra arrived in Hong Kong on April 2, moved to Taiwan on April 9, and arrived at my home on April 11 (5 days past original UPS delivery date). Things are pretty backlogged, but once it leaves HK, it should get to you quickly.

Got my studio 3 weeks ago, but my 2 displays with the height adjust were showing delivery April 15-22.. no update yet but thinking that's looking unlikely..

I feel for apple. You can bet that they would move supply chains elsewhere if it was possible. It isn't. There just isn't anywhere that can do what is needed on the scale and speed that china can do it. Changing that game will take 20-30 years, and has already begun.

hrm wonder if I can resell my studio display as I don't like the matte finish version.

Canceled my order and bought a refurb 16" Max/64GB/4TB, it will be here on Monday. I originally ordered a 16" Pro/32GB/4TB for slightly less coin, hadn't been charged for it yet.
Probably a good deal since refurbs will probably be bought up depending on how bad delays get. And it sounds like the price wasn’t too different even with double the RAM.

High-end MacBook Pro models are experiencing extended delivery times due to component shortages and ongoing lockdowns in China caused by the global pandemic, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In the online Apple Store, M1 Max and custom M1 Pro versions of the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro deliveries are delayed until late May or early June, and in-store pickups are unavailable until June.

We have also heard from several MacRumors readers who were waiting on MacBook Pro models ordered in March and April and who have now had their shipments significantly delayed because of Apple's supply issues.

MacRumors reader Eric, for example, ordered in March and was supposed to receive his machine by April 22, but now his order has been delayed until mid-May. MacRumors reader Vera was supposed to get an M1 Max MacBook Pro on April 13, but now the estimated delivery date is May 9 to May 16.

We've received several reports from frustrated Apple customers who have been patiently waiting for their MacBook Pro models to arrive in April, and many of them are now being forced to wait until at least May as Apple tries to solve its supply issues.

Apple might provide more color on its supply chain problems during Q2 2022 earnings call which is set to take place on Thursday, April 28. In addition to MacBook Pro shipping delays, Apple is also seeing delays for the Mac Studio with M1 Ultra chips, and some Intel-based Mac Pro models.

The MacBook Air, Mac mini, and iMac appear to be readily available, as do Apple's iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches.

I ordered a 16" M1 Max chip with 64GB memory and 2TB storage on January 4th and the status changed to preparing to ship this week. They originally told me 6-10 weeks.

Does this mean a new Mac now will have to undergo 2 weeks of quarantine before turning it on or handling it?
Leave it in the box for 2 weeks?
Contaminated box?
Contaminated packing materials?
Contaminated outer enclosure?
Contaminated inner components that the fan will blow into the room?

Soon we'll hear about Qurantine-gate, you're not quarantining it right!
