We have been seeing orders take 3-4 months. We ordered 16 inch, M1 Max, 64GB, 4TB on day one of launch and they took 3 months. Ordered 16 inch M1 Max 64GB 1TB machines in January and we are still waiting delivery.

We're now seeing standard build configs on MacBook Air's taking 1-2 months.

Similar with Dell. We have had to wait 5 months for some displays. Some XPS machines we can't even place and order as Dell and vendors have no idea when they can get stock.

My Apple card was finally charged this morning. I hope that means the "slow boat" has begun to move forward. Although I've received no notice from apple other than for the charge being processed. Fingers crossed.

Just treated myself to a birthday gift and ordered a maxed out m1 max 16 inch macbook pro. It says my shipping isn't unitl June. I mine likely going to get delayed even more? Or will that depend on the shanghai lockdowns? I guess for now I'll just keep using my current M1 13 inch macbook pro 16gb and I guess enjoy that touch bar as much as I can before getting the 16 in June.

I'm in similar situation with w/VESA mount. Scheduled delivery on Apr 22nd, waiting for information but expecting it to be delivered in summer :(
I was charged yesterday, status updated to preparing to ship. Today the parcel is being handed over to DHL for tomorrow's delivery in Prague. Fingers crossed :)

I ordered a customized 14MBP on the 14th and it is still processing. Hope I can get it anywhere between April 30 - May 10 as scheduled.

Ordered mine on 2/3. 14” MBP Max with 64gb, 2tb. Originally supposed to be delivered April 14-27, now delayed until June 15-28.
Dang. When you say "2/3" do you mean February 3 or March 2?

I ordered my 16" MBP Max 64 GB / 1 TB on February 9. Initial estimated delivery was April 8-18, and is now May 3-10. My credit card has been charged (April 12) but the transaction is still marked as "pending," and the order is still in the "processing" stage.

I'm hoping it doesn't get pushed back until June.

I ordered my custom mbp 14 inch on March 2nd, estimate delivery was April 14-21. Card charge was pending last week, the day after the delivery estimate changed to June 3-21. My card just got refunded the pending charge. Very upset about this.

Two charges appeared on my credit card statement on April 12. The full amount for the computer, and a separate charge for what I assume is the AppleCare. Both charges are still marked as “pending” so they haven’t been processed yet. Still no update in order status, so we’ll see what happens when the charges are finally processed.
So, it's a reservation. Apple does that when they expect to start production of your MacBook. Once it's ready to ship they change it into a real charge and get your money... and that has to be done within 7 days. Except... these days they do expect to start production, but they don't and are not able to ship within 7 days.
So after 7 days of cc reservation at Apple's end they cannot really charge your card anymore. Only problem is that your bank or cc company cannot remove the reservation for 21 days.
Then the problem begins. A week later Apple again expects to start production of your MacBook and again reserves this amount on your cc. Only, the first reservation has not been cancelled on your end by your bank, so you end up with a double cc reservation for the same order. In my case they postponed production for a second time, so I got a triple cc reservation for a single order. That's 3x 2200 Euro.
So they now postponed it for a third time, but this time until early June. Cancelled the order and ordered a same spec MacBook Air from a local reseller. Estimated arrival: Tomorrow.

Interesting information, thanks.

My CC has had now had the “hold” on it for 7 days, with no changes in the order status (still "Processing”), and no new charges have appeared. I wonder if the rules around removing those “reservation” or “hold” charges differs between the EU and Canada or the USA.

I guess the next 24 hours may be where I see if the delivery date gets pushed out again.

I really hope this is a wake-up call for Apple with regard to the installed-at-factory-only upgrades to RAM and storage. The only configurations readily available right now are the base versions of the machines, and you're stuck with the RAM and storage installed at the factory.

I just looked at possibly getting a Studio instead of a MBP, and it was the same deal.

Base model (M1 Max, 10 core, 24 GPU, 32 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD):
Pick up in store May 5.

Upgrade Storage to 1 TB:
Pick up in store June 9.

Upgrade RAM to 64 GB:
Pick up in store July 22!

That's just ridiculous. I miss the days of being able to order a stock midrange machine with solid CPU and GPU, and adding more RAM and Storage as needs change and budget allows.

The base model MBPs are really not well spec'd for long-term use. 16 MB of RAM on anything but the base Max is pretty inadequate for anyone doing heavy graphic design work or media production. They really should double that RAM.

Well, the pending charge on my credit card has now disappeared… order status still "Processing" with an estimated arrival of May 3-10, but I'm bracing myself for another pushed back delivery date.

Hopefully Apple steps up with something like complimentary AppleCare or a full year of Apple TV+ or something like that which will cost them nothing, but at least shows a goodwill gesture for customers who have been waiting an extraordinarily long time for machines.

Looks like my post was wrong. I checked and the $4300 was just a pending charge. The mobile app did not match the online banking desktop app. Then I checked my order and now it is pushed back June 6 to 21. If there is a WDDC announcement, I will not hesitate to cancel.

I am waiting to see if anything is announced as well and make a decision after that.

Add me to the list. Ordered March 13. Apple charged my card 4 days ago and was expecting delivery this week but the order status hadn't moved from Processing and today delivery window has changed to the first 2 weeks of June. I don't think I'd be as frustrated if they hadn't billed my card because I really expected it was imminent, but it is what it is I guess!

Edit: the credit card charge is 'pending' so I expect it'll get retracted soon.

I have ordered my MacBook pro-16 32/1TB on 9th April 2022 . I am supposed to receive the item in the 29th April.

Hopefully there won’t be another delay :)

Still no updates on my order. Pending charge has expired and removed from my credit card statement, order status as of 11:00 EDT today is still "Processing," with an expected delivery of May 3-10.

MBP Max 64 GB / 1 TB, ordered February 9, 2022.

I see that the Studio is getting pushed back as well. What a mess. That is solved if you make upgrades user upgradable like the old mini, and don't tell me there's not enough space in that chassis not to have all the components glued on.
