Ordered my M1 Max 16" MacBook Pro on February 9. Was supposed to be delivered April 8-18. Now due between May 3-10.

Apple just charged my credit card for the machine and AppleCare last weekend, but the order is still listed as "Processing…"

I'm hoping that will get updated soon.

Delivery on the 14" MBP I ordered on 3/30 was originally expected 4/20-4/27, and is now expected 6/2-6/17.

:-(
My local Apple store had a base model in stock, so I bought it and canceled my order. The one I'd ordered was a base model with a SSD upgrade to 1TB, so I have to live without that. I can manage, I've got cloud storage and a couple high-capacity USB-C thumb drives.

Happy to finally have the 14" MBP! I hope the rest of you are able to get the models you want sooner rather than later.

I had an order in for a Green M1 iMac 16/512 with a full sized keyboard. I had an estimated delivery date of 4/29 to 5/6.

I was checking Apple's website and a Blue 16/1 TB with the smaller keyboard was in stock and ready to order. I didn't really need a 1 TB SSD, and I really wanted a full size keyboard, but I didn't want to take a chance in having my Green one I ordered getting pushed back, so I ordering it on Wednesday and and got in yesterday. I was happy to get it the next day.

I set it up today and am loving it so far. The Magic Mouse isn't bad, and I am working on getting used to the smaller keyboard. Today I cancelled the order for the Green model.

It has arrived and been set up.

I'm in Canada and my M1 Pro 14" ship date is now June 6-17.
Optimistic me is secretly hoping it ends up being because an M2 launches at the Keynote, realistic me is sad for the delay.

Sounds to me like a glitch as normally you aren't charged until shipped With the latest shutdowns there may be even more delays so it might be worthwhile to see if they can reverse the charges if you care. But there might be risks in doing that if the systems see it as a cancelled order.

Waiting on my M1 Max (with 64GB RAM upgrade).
Ordered 29th March.
Estimated delivery was 4-10th May upon ordering.

Currently still on 'processing' and the estimated delivery is still the same.......not holding my breath though.....

High-end MacBook Pro models are experiencing extended delivery times due to component shortages and ongoing lockdowns in China caused by the global pandemic, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In the online Apple Store, M1 Max and custom M1 Pro versions of the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro deliveries are delayed until late May or early June, and in-store pickups are unavailable until June.

We have also heard from several MacRumors readers who were waiting on MacBook Pro models ordered in March and April and who have now had their shipments significantly delayed because of Apple's supply issues.

MacRumors reader Eric, for example, ordered in March and was supposed to receive his machine by April 22, but now his order has been delayed until mid-May. MacRumors reader Vera was supposed to get an M1 Max MacBook Pro on April 13, but now the estimated delivery date is May 9 to May 16.

We've received several reports from frustrated Apple customers who have been patiently waiting for their MacBook Pro models to arrive in April, and many of them are now being forced to wait until at least May as Apple tries to solve its supply issues.

Apple might provide more color on its supply chain problems during Q2 2022 earnings call which is set to take place on Thursday, April 28. In addition to MacBook Pro shipping delays, Apple is also seeing delays for the Mac Studio with M1 Ultra chips, and some Intel-based Mac Pro models.

The MacBook Air, Mac mini, and iMac appear to be readily available, as do Apple's iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches.

Looks like I may never get the Studio that I ordered early April, now they are saying delivery in late June
By that time should know what the next gen will look like and wish I Haden't ordered, meanwhile they sit on my money

As I have always stated before: buy what you need today, you can always upgrade in the future.

As far as next gen goes, any performance gains and/or features will be an incremental improvement, much like A14 to A15 on iOS devices (as the M1 series were based on the same core architecture as A14). The next gen chips will most likely be a derivative of A15. The performance won't be as impressive as the jump from Intel to the M series.

I was lucky person to got "Preparing for Ship" status today on my MacBook Pro 16" 2021's order. It's now arrives on April 21-28, 2022. The same order date was March 20, 2022 with my sister's M1 MacBook Air 2020. Her M1 MacBook Air 2020 arrived on March 28, 2022, so she was a lucky person.

My MacBook Pro 16" 2021's order was still "processing" status yesterday. My MacBook Pro 16" 2021's original delivery date was April 28-May 5 at time of ordering (March 20, 2022) by my dad.

My MacBook Pro 16" 2021 specs:
  • Apple M1 Max with 32 GPU core
  • 32GB memory
  • 1TB SSD
  • No custom configuration
My MacBook Pro 16" 2021 is now arrives on April 19, 2022. It was shipped from Tennessee, USA instead of China via UPS. I was so lucky person to get new MacBook Pro 2021.

Apple has had a considerable amount to time to work on all of their supply issues and start the necessary steps to mitigate these problems. It has cost Apple a considerable amount of money, but the question is, is it enough to actually do something? Judging by Apple's response, the answer is NO! They have very little incentive to change. So expect the same song and dance until Apple's market share is really impacted or there is a major change in leadership. I would not be surprised to find the 2021 MBP still being manufactured and shipped in 2023. The question is, when will everyone decide to cancel because the new and improved will be released in a few months leaving Apple with a large inventory of last year's model? Apple is in a bad place now and have not handled well so far.

A few weeks, one month isn't as bad as a year backlog or 180 days from companies like Dell, Cisco, Lenovo. I like to put it in that perspective. IT Procurement has to deal 1 year backlog is painful.

That used to mean it was built and should ship in a couple days.

Charged or did they make a reservation?

Two charges appeared on my credit card statement on April 12. The full amount for the computer, and a separate charge for what I assume is the AppleCare. Both charges are still marked as “pending” so they haven’t been processed yet. Still no update in order status, so we’ll see what happens when the charges are finally processed.

I was in the same situation and ultimately decided to cancel. With wait times those long, I figured I might as well see what WWDC brings. And even though I'm ready to replace this Intel mini, everything is still working well enough that I can stick it out through the end of this year comfortably.

If you keep your order, you'll surely likely be able to cancel by WWDC, or worst case, be in their return period.
