Didn’t work for me 2 hours ago when I tried this combo. I’ll try again now....
 
Waited a few hours on sprint. Used the chat service on the website and gave them my P# and IMEI# and activated no problem.
 
Activated, updated and working beautifully. My God this phone looks sweet! FaceID seems lightning fast too. So convenient =O.
 
SUCCESS! My wife and I had been having issues for HOURS. We are both on Verizon Wireless. I just got both of our phones activated almost immediately after calling Verizon. They said for some reason, they're only able to activate that manually. Just call them up and give them your IMEI and ICCID numbers and they'll get you sorted right away.

To add a little wrench to this, it looks like if you have an LTE watch, it can cause additional issues on their side if they don’t transfer the link to the new sim. They still haven’t sorted me out, but hopefully we are close, as others are posting success using the steps they’ve had me doing on repeat the last few hours.
 
Verizon finally worked like a charm for me. Was hung on the phone # screen, I backed out, started from scratch, and it went through with the quickness. Issues resolved?
 
For those on Verizon, I was able to activate my phone online by logging into Verizon, clicking on the phone I am swapping and choosing activate phone on an existing line. I bought my iPhone X via Apple, but Verizon had the order details and it activated my phone. I turned off the X and back and and it worked, went through the activation no problem. This after hours of trying Wi-Fi, cellular and iTunes (iTunes only show d blank screen and the work iPhone, helpless). Hopefully this will help someone. Good luck.
 
I have AT&T and was facing errors for hours. Even a call to Apple didn't help. I tried a restart, a soft reset, and plugging in to iTunes. Nothing worked. I finally called AT&T and they activated it manually. Should have started off by calling AT&T in the first place, since it was an activation issue.
 
Finally activated mine. Was stuck on the phone number verification screen for about 20 -30 mins. I unplugged my phone from itunes and then plugged it back in and it promoted me to enter my zip code and last 4 of my SS# -now to restore from back up! I can't wait!!!

So I bought the Verizon model but tried to activate with AT&T SIM card. Still took me to the Verizon activation page. Phone still isn't activated but I don't think I'm getting out of that $30 charge from Vzw. :/
 
Im having this issue with Verizon, now they said to let the phone trying to activate for 1 hour, they said that the problem is on apple side, I don't believe them.
 
Please tell me you all can’t log in in you Apple ID account. I wanted to buy Apple Care for my X and I can’t log in at all. Not even in the “normal” Apple ID overview. Always get the error “Failed to verify your identity. Try again.”
