I agree. Mine didn’t activate until the next afternoon for the first iPhone! Today mine activated immediately but my son’s won’t activate.mine worked fine this morning, but my wife is now home and unable to get hers to activate. both on AT&T. i've plugged hers into iTunes to try it that way too, no go... anyone have other tips?
this feels like the original iPhone launch, when I think my phone took about 12 hours to finally activate with AT&T!
RE: Update: --- I purchased an iPhone X through VZW, and I am in fact having activation issues. Very frustrating. Going on 2 hours now.
Only hold with VZW for 45+ minutes... tier 2 tech support still not able to solve my issue.RE: Update: --- I purchased an iPhone X through VZW, and I am in fact having activation issues. Very frustrating. Going on 2 hours now.
Same here. But after I put in my SSN and Zip Code, it says my info is incorrect. Customer Service has no idea what to do..
At least it's not just me. Although I'm having the issue with AT&TAlso struggling verifying my account information. Have been on the phone with Verizon & Apple for nearly 3 hours now...
Any insight would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Verizon confirms Apple activation servers down. AT&T clients having same issue. My new phone's ID and IMEI show on my Verizon account. When plugged in via USB in iTunes everyone gets blank screen and no response from Apple and iTunes.
I'm on a chat with their senior advisor. I have little faith though...On hold with AppleCare now. Hoping to get it resolved. So frustrating!
Haven't had great success on the Apple side, my gut says it's a Verizon issue -- I was disconnected and am now holding again for level 1 service... more to come.On hold with AppleCare now. Hoping to get it resolved. So frustrating!
Mine failed the first try. Then asked if I wanted to try again using wifi or LTE. Did the wifi option and it activated without issue.

Meh, it gets the time, battery, and wifi out of the way so you have even more screen real estate. You may notice it now but like anything, you won't even notice it after a couple days of use and love the extra screen you get.
Surprisingly no trouble activating with crappy Tmo but you do have to call in. It was quick though all went smooth.

Notch does stand out but yeah could just take time getting used to. I was kinda eye shocked at the smaller screen size, I'm used to 7 Plus the screen looks pretty tiny but when you look at the specs on the Apple web site X has the largest screen size hmmm. When you look at both phones side by side the X appears much smaller. I do like the smaller frame though for sticking in pocket but let's see how the screen size works out.
