I really think its more about the teams being extremely tired and used up, I'd wonder if either side could go another 15 innings if need be.

nice pic. the fans waving black flags of the evil empire... :D

yanks are gonna need it - it's a do or die game for them too. they would have lost any and all mental "advantage" if they lose this one.

for sox, it's been much simpler - if they lose, they go home. they haven't had to worry about trying to wrap up a series or facing the pressure of avoiding a dismal collapse.

btw, if i were torre, i'd walk ortiz in any late innings, much like how sox should have done with matsui in the first three games.

Tonight's game...

6-3...Yankees.

Don't think so....
1-0 Red Sox (run scored in the last ininng)

EDIT: Do you think sports in general, should have a referee watching the game in a TV in the stadium? To help clarify plays like that home run in the 4th ininng?

I'm undecided on this subject. I think it's a good idea to have them it will clarify plays like this. But, then I think. That is what the referee is for, even if bad calls are made. After all, that is what a referee, umpire, etc are their for. To call the game as they see it happening.

What do you all think about this?

i don't know how this game will end, but man, this is a gutsy outing from schilling. gutsy. all heart.

schilling is done. to me, franconia made the correct call. sox bullpen might blow this lead but i still wouldn't question this call. yes, schilling was dominating. but unlike grady little, franconia decided to trust the bullpen - which, from the last two games, he has the right to.

i realize it's bottom of the order coming up for the yankees, but to push schilling for another inning would be getting greedy. he did more than he was asked - franconia is making the right call in trusting the rest of the pitching staff that got him to this position to begin with.

last two innigs... it would really help to pound yankee bullpen for a few more runs, but i somehow doubt it. yankees are tough - they probably won't give up another run in this game.

Agreed - the bullpen has done well the past couple of games, so I'd trust them as well. It would have been nice to see him go a complete game, though.

Still, Boston could be the first team ever in MLB to force a game 7 after going 0-3.

man, a-rod. what a prick. i'm glad umps got it right. that was such a terrible play. this isn't football, a-rod.

Yankees are getting screwed...

I am glad I sold my tickets or else I would be there, cold, wet, whiny, AND angry...

Schilling is a washed up old man. He's done.

that's tasteless and classless, man. he just shut down your team to one run over 7 innings on a semi-broken ankle. if you want to be a fan of baseball (and not just yanks), then you should at least acknowledge that he was good and earned his win. you don't have to like him - but you can still show some class.

No, I KNOW so. Go Yankees!

You Know so...? Are you serious!? If you knew anything about baseball, you'd know that Schilling just kicked your ass.

I said it earlier - Sox world series.

LEGENDS OF THE FALL

Wow , As Much as I have been raised to hate the Red Sox i have to give them thier due. I really didn't think Schilling had it in him.

I will 1st say that I am not a religious person, but I do believe in fate sometimes and this is as close to fate and Devine intervention as u can get.
It's like these teams are Destined to face each other in an Ultimate battle evertime October comes. It can't just be a one sided battle.

I honestly believe if the Sox were up 3-0 it would have been the same outcome. So here we are Finally at Game 7 either way it will be......... One for the Ages.

P.S. I think both of these teams have gone as far as they can go and have drained each other too much. they will both end up as prey for the NLCS winner who will be Fresh and Hungry

You are right. I do admit that he played well so perhaps I should rephrase it that he is now washed up. I just think his career is over pretty soon. That's all. He pitched a nice game and gave it everything he had left.

First of all, I am serious. I believe Schilling is washed up and pretty soon his career is done. It's my opinion and it has nothing to do with being a fan of any particular team.
Second, Schilling did not kick anything of mine, as I am not a member of the New York ball club, and did not play against him.

You guys get all worked up for nothing. If we were talking A-Rod or Jeter in the same fashion I would respect your opinion and move on. It's that simple. We are all fans of baseball, no matter who's playing, winning, or losing.

Edit: One more thing...I wish that both teams could get at least a few days rest and play on Friday or Saturday. Both teams are drained and everyone wants to see a completely fair matchup.

The riots have begun full swing here at UMass Dartmouth. I've been listening for about a half an hour. the police issued some kind of ultimatum over loud speaker, but i couln't make out anything except for "...this is your last chance to..." pretty crazy.

The Yankee Gods are upset and when the Gods get upset bad things happen, beware Red Sox tomorrow will be a massacre. And for the record Arod was impeded in running to first base. Second of all Jeter should of been allowed to take second as even if the play is at first the runner advances.

Ok after further review of the rules Jeter has to go back to First.
