What Boston has achieved, being down 3-0 and getting to game 7, is unprecedented. They are to be admired for never giving up, and for fighting through the stigma of the alleged Curse to get this far, basically on fumes.

Darn shame they won't make it to the Series. Much as I'd love to see Boston win it all, and as much as I hate ther freakin' Yankees, Boston goes down tonight. I'll be rooting for the Sox all the way, but I expect to be disappointed tonight.

D-Lo on the road on two days rest is a very scary proposition. (Of course, so is three-finger kevin brown, as we saw last time.)

And there is no such thing as a curse. I'm afraid the sox will lose because their pitching is shot to hell and because Manny and Damon can't hit. Not because of some old wives tale about the ghost of Babe Ruth. No one actually believes in curses in the year 2004 do they??

(btw, why doesn't anyone talk about a white sox curse? They haven't won in longer than the red sox, second only to their city-mates, the cubs)

If you don't know the truth, you can't call it an urban legend.

"Need the info, scott."

Thats when something IS urban legend, when its a rumor and cant be verified or denied.

I think Fox got their wish of another game 7 nail bitter and a ratings boost.

Considering it was last night, the term 'urban legend' doesn't quite apply. I'm just trying to find out some more info on it, wiseguy.

st. louis starters don't match up nearly as well with sox's front two (i'll take injured schilling any day over jason maquis) and probably evenly with yankees. hitting wise, walker-pujols-rolen is no better than a-rod-sheffield-matsui...

i dont have the numbers right now, but pujols edmonds walker and roland had the 4th best batting average all time this year. if i can find that issue i will post it. Basically, i would take the front 4 cards over anyone in the mlb.

well, i believe you. i guess all i wanted to point out is that st. louis hitting is quite good, no question, they had the best record in the majors this year, but i don't think they are so good that the world series would be a blowout.

Heck, I'm a Cardinals fan, and right now I'm just hoping they get into the series. Except for Pujols and Walker, the batting has been spotty at best for most of the series.

And a 1-run lead against Houston in the 6th is meaningless. At least they're at home. Of course, they had the best road record in baseball this year and lost 3 straight in Houston.

Ouch.

Both Boston and New York have potent lineups (as evidenced by performance this series) and no one of the four currently in the running has shown consistently good pitching from both the starters and the bullpen. I say regardless of who's in the series, it will be a good one, and will likely go at least 6.

I want to Cardinals to loose. I dont want them to make it to the world Series

If you can not tell I want the Astros to there.

They're a game closer now! It has been an excellent playoff season in MLB!

Yeah, but they made us sweat!

Oh, and it's 6-0 Red Sox in the 2ND!

We'll find out tomorrow, I guess. I'm sure either way it will be a nail-biter. With these teams, you can't count either one out of the game until the final out, as evidenced by the 9th inning tonight...

That is very encouraging. Of course as Red Sox Fans know it isn't over till it's over. Go Sox!!!

8-1! Now I know the Yankees have the most come-back victories in the majors this year, but 7 runs? Let's hope not.

Curse has been broken - sox world series... who would've thunk it?

Don't say it till it's over. I'm a DIAHARD redsox fan. Always have been, always will be. We know not to count anything till it's over.

GO SOX!!!!!!

I just want to say that all of us Yankee fans who have come here and bashed the Sox or talked up the prowess of the Yanks should all bow down to the amazing Red Sox and their resilient fans. They may or may not win the World Series, but they are sure going to enjoy rubbing the Yanks face in it for the next year or so (or maybe longer :D )

I think that there was a "Black sox scandal and some kind of curse related to fixing a world series and the like, but people actually have to be passionate about a team to talk about it :D

No kidding. I live in Chicago, and it's pathetic - even when they're playing well they draw 10-15K a game. The only time they fill the park is when they play the Cubs.

don't say that (yet) knowing the red sox's repuation the yankees will probably start hittin homers and just pull in the runs..... in other words it ain't over til its over. :D

go sox :D

There are empty seats in the upper deck at Yankee stadium today. That's sick. Boston on the other hand (and throw out cubs stats too, if boston wasn't in this and the cubs were, I'd be a bandwagoner) has sold out EVERY game this season and about 80% of the end of the last season. I think I saw a stat that they have over 100 sold out games. Think about the money there.

Why are the Cubs so much more popular?
