Oh, so the thing didn't end up messed up aesthetically? Something just happened on the inside?

If you're really interested in that kind of activity, Catalyst makes a waterproof case. Probably what I would do if I could swim ;)
No it was fine apart from the touchscreen completely stopped responding to touch. Everything else was fine.

1 week later and it started working again on it's own, so I now have 2 watches - SS & SBSS. Annoyingly I sold all my SS bands (including link!) so think i'll get rid of the watch and keep the SBSS.

Posted this in another thread...I just recently replaced my stainless steel with a space black (went swimming with the SS, turns out the watches are not as waterproof as you'd believe!)

Now all my bands are for the ss, so a few I'll sell but I thought I'd attempt replacing the adaptors on the saddle classic buckle, and painting the buckle myself in gloss black

What was the process you took to paint the buckle black? What type of paint? I've done the black lug conversion, but still debating on painting the buckle. Is it worth the extra cost and effort?

ha! no not yet, although oddly enough after a week the SS dried out enough and started working again! Now have a SS and a SSSB !

The whole watch started working again, or just the microphone/speaker? It's normal for the speaker to need to dry out to start working again, but if the whole thing wasn't working for a while then it's clearly defective and shouldn't happen. If it's still under warranty, I'd get it replaced lest it fails again.

The touchscreen was the only thing that stopped working, and started working fine again after a week

On,y took a few coats of automotive primer and gloss black spray paint. Masked up the rest of the strap with decent masking tape

Sounds like you have a defective AW and you should replace it if it's still under warranty. It's not a case of the AW not being as waterproof as you thought.
Youre probably right, but as it's working again now it'll be hard to take it for a swap

That's pretty nice, does it come in black??

Bought my Stainless Steel Space Black yesterday. A couple of things:
- why is the charging cable so long? I wish they offered a longer one for the iPhone
- best\reasonably priced charging stand for the Apple Watch; what say you?

They do offer Lightning to USB cable in 2m for purchase separately. Likewise, the magnetic charging pucks are available in shorter lengths (1m and 0.5m).

A lot of people suggest vertical charging stands but I think horizontal docks are the way to go now that the AW supports nightstand mode.

OULUOQI actually has a fantastic link bracelet that's almost identical to Apple's. The only issue is that if you have to take most or all of the links out for smaller wrists, it can get very stiff and almost hard to close. However, if you wear it with most links in, you shouldn't have a problem. Banged it a couple of times and it has stood up to wear. I would recommend it.

Has anyone thought of pairing the Space Black Watch with a silver link bracelet? Has anyone done this? Couldn't find photos, but thought it may turn out to be a good combination!

The apple oem Dock is a bit expensive but I love it.

I second this. Works with the lightning cable, you have the puck that came with the watch available for travel and this could stay on the nightstand. I like that it offers 2 positions and that the footprint is small. Easy to keep clean too.

My wife got me the Apple Blank Link Bracelet for my Apple Watch on Fathers day. I was quite surprised as it's very costly.

Surprised me how high quality it is, matches the watch quite nicely and is very very comfortable.

That looks neat Lion but I think the Stainless Steel (Silver) Apple Watch with the Black Link Bracelet looks nicer than the Black Apple Watch with the Silver bracelet.

I've been swimming 2 seasons now in a pool with my SS and its held up well. I wouldn't go into the ocean with it though. You may have gotten one where the gasket wasn't properly sealed, perhaps?
