@IphoneIssues Nice! You know, I thought the yellow would look sharp, but it just looked too pastel-yellow when I looked at it in the store - now seeing how it pops out in the wild on your arm, methinks I may just have to pick that one up!!
I have the (Red) sport band - love it. Also a bunch of 2-piece heavy Nato's from Clockworksynergy, the Apple black sport band and black link bracelet. I need to pester the CWS folks to make a red heavy nato band!![]()
Yep, stands to reason that the DLC coating would be the thinnest there at the tip of the sharp edge. (Still, I didn't think the wear there was much)Mine has the same wear line since the moment I took it out of the box. It's not visible with a band installed or in poor lighting without a band installed, but in bright light you can see the silver all along the connector rail edges. I think it's just due to the way they colour the steel black etc
As one who's had that watch (with the link band) over a year now - price was really steep for it (especially up here - $1600+ taxes in), but I'm glad now that I have that band. It's very elegant. Wear it all of the time for nights out or executive meetings.Had stainless steel link since day 1. Switched to space black watch and link band yesterday. Not as flashy and more subtle. Still iffy on it. Looks amazing in the sun light tho!
Curious. Is anyone else seeing wear on the edge of the band connector on their casing? The one I have now is actually a replacement I received about 4 months ago (the crown became defective for presses). I typically swap out my bands on average about once every couple of weeks.
Noticed it the other day - changing the band near a window with good light and it caught bare metal along the edge.
Considering I haven't had a single mark appear on the rest of the watch since we received them last year (mine finally arrived in June) a little surprised that there's any wear from this. Not really disappointed, just a little surprised.
Was wondering if anyone else has seen this.
Hey Guys,
Last time around I bought a SS 42mm BSB on launch day, but always wanted a SB one, it was just too expensive... This time around I got a series 2 42mm BSB, but in black.
I just want to ask current owners, how is the scratching ? Is it really noticeable ? Does apple take care of it under warranty ? Can you polish it if needed ?
What scratching? Nadda. Going on 15 months, not a mark. (and I've banged it off of lots of stuff).Hey Guys,

Who?I think he actually got the space gray aluminum with BSB (as the SB was too expensive).
Who?@yozh? He could've gotten the SBSS with a BSB, as Apple made that available after the initial SB's were sold with the link bracelet.
Yep, just checked - the SBSS Series 2 is basically the same price as what we paid. There's no way Apple would replace the coating and charge the same price....it would be a PR nightmare.Right, couldn't tell if he got that or space gray aluminum with BSB. Many people casually call SG "black."
Some members are even of the opinion that they've ditched the DLC for Series 2 because Apple is no longer advertising it. I have my doubt because they're still selling for the same premium over SS.
Just joined the SB SS owners club, too. Found a seller on eBay selling his for $475 with the link bracelet. He said it was a gift and only wore it two times. It's a couple of months old, but this deal was too good to pass up. Includes the watch and all accessories including the original box. I have a SS, but thought it would be nice to have some variety.

The DLC coating is super durable. If you actually DO manage to find something approaching the hardness of diamond (some particulates in some bricks and concrete DO, so be careful around those), yes, you can scratch it. If you do, you'll have silver scratches on your watch, as it's the same stainless shell underneath that's on the other watches.
