Apple sold and shipped 10 million iPhone 6's in the first weekend - and I'm seeing reports of how Apple shipped 20% of ~1.7 million pre-orders... Or call that ~500,000 watches in the first weekend.

Are we to believe Apple only had 20 x the inventory of phones than they did for watches?

That's why I think Apple is gaming demand and holding back inventory to the detriment of the loyal pre-order fans. My gut says they're holding back inventory and they'll let it trickle out through early June. I'm sure then they'll want anyone and everyone who wants a watch now to get one by the end of June (their fiscal year end).

Anybody read about the faulty Taptic engines? It may be the cause of the pushed date for me I guess.

That's a really bad comparison. iPhones have been around a long time so they have had plenty of time to refine the manufacturing process. The Watch is completely new and they have not optimized any of that process yet. Also, there are far more customization options for the Watch, which increases the complexity exponentially with each available option.

Personally I think they should have separated the bands from the main watch which would have dramatically reduced the complexity there. It's probably not the Apple "experience" they want to provide, but sticking the watch band on isn't exactly difficult.

Order still processing, card not charged. Talked to Apple rep today and all he could say was that was one of the most popular orders and that it should come in the stated timeframe.

can we please keep pictures of watches OUT of this forum...yes we are all happy you have your watch but you dont need to show it to us.

Well, the upside to all of this is I once had to look at my password app so I could retrieve my very complex password for my chase card. I no longer need to do that as I have it memorized.
 
Just a reminder to be optimistic. I haven't gotten mine and for the past 5 days i have been so down and frustrated. Just remember that one minute you will be feeling sad and then another moment a small buzzing sound will project from your pocket. In no time, your apple watch will be at your front door and shortly on your wrist. With all of these hate posts, I'd like to shine some nice bright light on this annoying process. Have a good day?

Thank you. I know we're all a bit obsessive when it comes to these things, but it should never mean we **** on people just cause we don't have the latest and greatest devices immediately. Be thankful you can afford one and are in a position to be able to order one.
 
hey guys just wanted to share. Ordered at 3:06 EST on April 10. Got charged overnight, received tracking info about 2 hours ago. Delivered by end of tomorrow. 42mm SG Sport.:)
