More likely due to storage increment, cameras and wireless charging ( highly suspected ). That can make an expensive package there.
I'm going old school and wait for the iPhone 8 or better.
More importantly, it even mentions lightning to 3.5mm included in the box. I think it's excellent for users if Apple does include it, but I think it's a mistake for Apple as it shows there's a need for 3.5mm still and they've removed it.
Am I the only one who doesn't charge while listening to headphones?
This seems to be a phenomenon brought to light by the removal of the jack, never really heard of people doing this so much before. Is it really that common a thing or is it a false outrage?
Wireless charging? I haven't seen any leaks about this. I thought that might happen next year. This years will probably be expensive because of the camera and the increase increase in storage. Thr only features I remember were waterproofing but that seems to have died down now.
so apparently, charging, and using headphones is a huge deal breaker lol
Same old...very old Low Resolution Display.it puzzles me they call it iPhone 7, when its basically same design?
But what's the point of lightning headphones if they keep the headphone jack?Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter is a dumb idea. So you could plug your precious lighting earpods to anything else?.. Makes much more sense to include the reversed 3.5 to lightning adapter so you could use any other heapdphones with your iPhone.
Probably fake. Or the new Apple's reality of Tim Cook...
I do it all the time.Yeah when did this become a thing? I've never done it in my life.
I think this is a case of "What can't we do that we used to be able to do, regardless of the fact of whether we actually used to do it or not?"
Same old...very old Low Resolution Display.
Samsung passed up Apple years ago, but the Apple Faithful keep buying the old tech iPhone. A testimony to Smoke and Mirrors marketing.
"Look Ma...it's Magical and Revolutionary"
yes, of course many do that. If I'm at my desk or at home sometimes (very common indeed)Am I the only one who doesn't charge while listening to headphones?

Hello Tim.![]()
Maybe I wasn't clear enough...
If my BT headphones run out of juice I can switch to wired option on my BT headphones (no power required). These headphones have both BT and a 3.5mm jack. I could also use the spare earbuds that I carry.
So, If they remove the lightening jack I won't be able to charge my phone while using wired option on my BT headphones or my spare earbuds. This is really a pain for those that travel a lot.
Does that clear it up?
Cheap old headphones? Are you kidding me?!
I have a Sennheiser px 200 3.5 jack that cost me $50 and is one of the best open air cans I've had.
I also have a Grado SR 60 that cost me close to $60-70 and in 3.5 and comes with an adapter for the Starcaster 15G amp speaker for the guitar.
I also use a HATIS headset that uses a 3.5 adapter to be used on my hearing aid, shaped like a hook, to make private calls or listen to music on my phone. One reason why Apple's lack of foresight on accessibility for deaf or hard of hearing people who use 3.5 for their listening peripherals. Going BT or wireless is NOT the answer. The HATIS cost about $60-70 on the market.
The sound quality on those headsets are fantastic.
As long as they have an adopter for 3.5, people will still be able to use it.
So you're defending the greed in Apple? Trust me. If they don't include the adapter, Apple will get criticized for being greedy and viewed as where "the sun don't shine at ".
What are you talking about? 32 GB base is happening this year. On the iPhone 7, and 7 Plus. It is happening because Apple still wins, because of recent market price improvements.
Apple wins with all 32 and 64 GB levels. The consumer thinks it wins with 256 because the implied value of that storage level compared to the alternatives, but Apple still wins, because you're paying $200 more for the same iPhone as people buying the base model.
yes, of course many do that. If I'm at my desk or at home sometimes (very common indeed)

There IS such a need. Most of the headphones out there are 3.5mm.

Don't you think the text is too wide? Comparing to the back of my 6s Plus box this looks fake.
And do you really think Apple will call it a "Lightning to Headphone Jack" adapter?
That's become the accepted nomenclature here but really that's informal language. I would expect something more like "Lightning to 3.5mm Audio Adapter" or something.
The difference there though is that Apple introduced brand new models distinct from its other offerings. The iPhone 7 is just a repackaged 6s that will be thinner, offer a newer cpu and lack a headphone jack. The change is so minor, I can't see apple making a whole new name.
So what? Is it not still a better move than making one but forcing you to buy it separately? Some would view Apple's even making the adapter but not including it as both an acknowledgement that there is a need for AND yet another way to gouge customers for another $20.
Neither move on Apple's part will be without criticism from those who just have to criticize everything.
Is sitting next to a plug socket with your phone plugged in and your headphones plugged in really a common thing?
Another case of "I don't charge my phone while listening to music, therefore no one else does it either"
