...btw, Apple started releasing the keynotes quicker, or airing them live, after I sent Steve this email:

Dear Steve,

Every time you have an announcement I wait for the video to come out so I can hear you tell it to me. I'm not interested in hearing the news from Gizmodo or Engadget. I wanna hear it from the prodigal horse's mouth.

I used to watch the live streams. I used to drive 300 miles both ways to the nearest Apple store playing the satellite feed. But now our only option besides actually being there is to wait for the video. And every time it takes at least 8 hours to get the video up. Right now I'm chatting with hundreds of other people who have been waiting for that video to show up for nearly 10 hours. Many have given up. Gone to sleep. But the ones who remain are tough and are clambering for the sweet release..of the video. Please put us out of our misery.

~Cody

Soon after, my demands were met..Coincidence?...maybe

Lol. What is that an analogy? We just wish we could be there with our butts in the seats watching the event for real. The next best thing is to shut ourselves off and wait for the video. That's the only reason we insist on doing this. The site usually provides a spoiler free page. I don't know what up this time, but we are an ancient and proud race. Not to be made light of. :D

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what's a spoiler-free keynote? Do you mean you'd like to avoid 'out of sequence' coverage, such as: "Steve Jobs announced the iPad2 With Retina display today: Here's the transcript from the very start.." ?

Spoiler free mean that no one in this thread will display any information as of March 1 2011. For example, let's say iPad 2 images/specs/price leaked an hour prior to the Keynote, then that info SHOULD NOT be posted in the thread.

Or, even after the Keynote is done - nothing new should be posted.

Basically, no new info of any kind should be posted in this thread. The whole point is to provide a safe link to a video stream for people who want to get the news from Apple's Keynote.

Ah, thanks. Appreciated.

Here are a few "rules" to really stay in the dark:
  • disable Apples automatic update checks in Mac OS, iTunes and other Apps you're using
  • if you have any kind of IM on your mac, shut it down
  • disable any twitter software or safari extensions
  • disable Safaris "Hot Sites"
  • don't open mail
  • don't click on any link in this thread, until it has been approved by someone

did I miss anything?

SPOILER-FREE RULES
1. We do not want to know any new news. Specifically Apple news, duh!

2. Telling us what was NOT released IS A SPOILER. Telling us what rumors were false is just as bad as telling which ones were true.

3. We don't want teasers dropping hints like 5 year olds who can't keep a secret. So, GTFO!

4. THERE IS NO TALKING US OUT OF IT. Do not try. We are spoiler free and damn proud.

Quoted for truth. In my experience there's always some jackass who spoils the fun but heres hoping we all stay in the dark!

Hey OP, my apologies for my quick comment after your initial post. I honestly don't hang out around here much normally during the events and I simply couldn't comprehend the need for a thread like this. Obviously I was wrong, you all enjoy avoiding the info. I'm gonna take it all in like I normally do... *cheers*

Crap no live stream. Well at least I have some Dragon Quest VI to play to keep me sane till the Keynote gets posted what are you guys gonna be doing today.

Master Voidness, thank you for coming as usual to the rescue of these fellow spoiler-free addicts! You're the man! :D

Why on earth doesn't Apple make up their minds about live streaming the events, once and for all?! I've just run home from work to catch the beginning and, lo and behold, there's nothing to see there but MacBook Pros...

Evening all.

Thank-you, once again, to Voidness.

Shame they didn't do a live feed, don't really understand why - especially if they're gonna cloud-it-up on stage. Good advert surely? Maybe not.

Anyway, Voidness' page points toward this: http://mysk.co/gotoiTunes/

Worth a look for all his effort over the years?

Same here! I've even paid for the turnpike road only to arrive home 10 minutes before and lose less minutes of keynote, and BOOM, no live stream... Steve Jobs: ¡you owe me 1'42€! :p

Anyway, I have to admit I was missing this. After all these years of hiding waiting for a stream... I don't know, having an official live stream seems too easy :D it isn't commendable, you know? you have to earn the right to watch the stream with your efforts disconnecting from the world :)

Having said that, is nice having your company but, give me a live stream and I'm outa here! :D :D :D (but it would be too easy and unworthy )

See you

It's always best to assume the video's going to be released hours and hours from now instead of hoping it'll be any minute and being disappointed over and over again.
