No. We're waiting for the video we assume they'll release.

It'll be very disappointing if they don't... it's just not the same to hear it second hand... I love to hear news straight from the mouth of the person that made the news (or at least as best replicated as my iMac speakers can... I'm sure it was a test the iMac design underwent... how perfectly do the speakers reproduce the heads of Apple, namely SJ's, voice?)

Keynote history

I thought I'd post something about how I'd been watching keynotes since Apple first started broadcasting them live in '97 or so, and then talk about how sad I was when they stopped playing them live in maybe 2002. But then I realized I couldn't remember when the dates actually were, and a Google search didn't turn up anything - even on Wikipedia. Macrumors has a page with links to a bunch of streams, but not an actual history of the SteveNote. Maybe someone knows of one? It'd be a good trivia page.

One benefit I've found with the delayed keynote, though - not only can I pause more successfully, but since most of my friends will have followed along the live blogs I can ask them if it's worth waiting for Steve. While I love getting caught in the RDF, I don't always have time, and if the products aren't much to crow about, then I'll just read the summary on MacWorld or the snarking on Giz.

Damn, I was just gonna make a "funny" comment along those lines, haha. :)

What takes them so ling to put up a video????

EDIT:
Am I allowed to talk about previous keynote adresses (like the iPhone 4 one?)

Well they have to cut it, maybe remove some audio, select viewing angles for each timespan (also switching between presenter, presentation, presenter+presentation) and then do some post processing, encode it in every format provided and then upload it to their server-clusters (the last two wont take very long though) but so you get to at least the length of the keynote before they can upload (at least if they dont do any of these things while the keynote is still running)

Gizmodo redesign?

Hey guys, I'm glad to do another spoiler free event. (although I had two things ruined when I tried to find a spoiler free thread. BAH)

Anyway, does anyone want to talk about the GOD AWFUL gizmodo redesign?
NOTE: GIZMODO IS A TECH SITE AND WILL SPOIL THE EVENT FOR YOU IF YOU GO THERE. DO NOT GO THERE NOW (Thanks for pointing that out Evmanw)

I first tried spoiler free for the Stevenote when Leopard was revealed for the first time (WWDC 2006) and it hooked me and I've done it for every event since.

So how many people just went there to look at it and saw spoilers.
I hate the redisign

it's terrible but you can switch back to the blog format now if you want.

Giz's content is 99% trash now though sadly, very close to being deleted from my RSS feed.

Techmeme does a better job.

The blog format is still an eyesore.
ca.gizmodo.com makes things better. But their content is terrible now....
Engadget FTW.

I'm sorry, didn't realise this was the official spoiler free thread, I shall proceed to kill myself in shame...:(

Same here, I've got void's script running in a window, this thread and nothing else. Watching Arsenal spank Orient in the FA Cup replay but i'll switch to la liga in a while. If Barca was playing on the moon and I was blind I'd find a way to watch them.

Van Gogh? Da Vinci? No. Barca playing football is pure art.
Wow, nice to read those kind words about my hometown team
From the Premier, my favorite is Arsenal, so I can't wait to be there next week on FC Barcelona - Arsenal... I feel nervous already. Fun fact about that: today I received an SMS from Barça asking if I want to sell them my ticket for that match, hah! don't hold your breath! :D

Just for this reply to not be 100% off topic, I just wanna said that I've just realised that today I'm dressing like Steve Jobs! (you know, black turtleneck, blue jeans, snickers...) I swear I haven't done it on purpose! I suppose I've woken up thinking about the keynote already :)

And the wait goes on...
See you later.

agreed.

plus the whole iphone 4 (although i voraciously consumed it like everyone else) leak seemed grubby and tabloid like. Especially when I watched the keynote and thought 'how ********* WOWED would I be right now if I'd not known it all before hand'.

I think the iphone4 is a beautiful design, definitely a grower (just like when BMW went all pointy and shark like, initial 'um...' leaning to 'eww' but eventually it is actually 'niiiiiice', like most car companies went that way and curvy cars look old and iphone 3g like.

Skate to where the puck is going to be is not just tech its design too.

Wow. Lots of tangents in there, but as this is (just about) the only safe thread on the interweb right now, here I am!

Fantastic analogy. My dad got one of the first "shark" designs you describe, the 2006 BMW 5 Series. He loves it to this day and drives it to work and back. That car is the bombbbbbbb (my dad doesn't even want to get the 2011, he doesn't like it as much).

I went spoiler free for the iPhone 4 as well but it wasn't as cool as it would have been if I hadn't known anything about the phone.

Ha +1 for dressing like Jobs today.

-1 for dressing like Jobs at all, come on dude its 2011 and you are a Catalonian, shouldn't you be more stylish than that?! Unless you're rocking it hipster ironically like.

PS, I know English is not your native tongue but I had to LOL at you wearing snickers. Not being mean. My spanish is average at best and my Catalan is very very poor. Snickers = chocolate peanut snack in English.
