Sprint iPhone Pre-Order Status Thread

My order says:
"Your order is being shipped. iPhone pre-orders placed on Oct 11 or prior are targeted for delivery by Oct. 14 or Oct 15. Any iPhone orders placed on Oct 12 or later will take 3 to 8 business days for delivery. Click on the shipping tracking number to track the progress of your order. It make take 24 hours for your tracking number to be active. For all other orders, please allow 3-8 days for delivery."

Still says ready for UPS on the UPS site. And I'm going to be at NYC comic-con all day friday/saturday/sunday.... not sure if UPS would leave it at my door or not... anyone know if they require signatures?

Yes, every product I've had shipped from Apple usually requires a signature. I know with FedEx there was a form that could be filled out and left attached to your front door basically authorizing them to leave it there and you could even suggest a location for them to leave it on your property (assuming that it's easily accessable by the courier).

I'm not sure if there's such an option for UPS so you're either looking at trying to have a friend/neighbor wait for it for you, or worst case if nobody is home it'll be returned to your local UPS location and you can pick it up from there.

Everything I've read indicates that it requires a signature. You can try leaving a signed note with instructions to leave it somewhere on your porch or whatever, but supposedly that's at the driver's discretion to decide if that's safe.

I can only hope that corporate stores will have more, but a friend of mine works for a third party Sprint store and they will only have three. Not three of each color or capacity... just three total.

Well that's disappointing. This will be a corporate store though...hmm, we'll see.

I plan on switching from AT&T to Sprint Friday with the launch (only reason I never had Sprint around here was because it had no iPhone) but I have work and I don't get out until 8:30am. Store opens at 8am. I'm literally 2 minutes away, but with no pre-order, I'll probably be SOL. We'll see. If not I'll just have to leave my name and wait a week or two.

To help give you all a little piece of mind about how fast things ship...
I recently ordered a case through amazon with 2 day air. Originally scheduled to be delivered on the 12th, it departed the Louisville, KY hub at 4:31pm on 10/10. It was delivered to my apartment at 4:26PM 10/11 (a day early) in south texas. So at least for people that are 4-5 states away from kentucky, they can ship as late as tomorrow afternoon and still get it to your place on friday. Relax

I just called UPS. The phone is scheduled to arrive by EOD on Friday.

Mm you guys need to relax I'm in the same boat and just like the tracking.info.says it won't be updated till Friday , so let's just hope it.gets there on Friday. The reason behind they did this is cause apple doesn't want they products before release day we might be lucky and get it a day earlier but who knows

It's not the end of the world, I just want to be sure my phone is coming. After reading horror stories of these random "exceptions," canceled/pushed back orders I'd feel a lot more comfortable knowing it's enroute.

Yeah but sprint didn't get as hammered as ATT and Verizon , since they both new that they were getting the new iPhone 4S, I check the website yesterday and it looks like the still had avaiable for 32 and 64 gb models, since we got the EVO 3d, photon 4g and the epic touch and now the iphone no a lot people is due for upgrades so I'm pretty safe we got our phones on the way I order mine at 230am on October 7th, servers kept crashing but I got it to work so I'm confident with it

You won't get an update until UPS scans the package for the first time. That likely will be sometime tonight. UPS may not have even picked up the trailer(s) from Sprint with shipments in it yet.

I have two phones coming on one tracking number, 1.8 lbs. I am getting so impatient waiting for updates. Okay, more restless than impatient. Nonetheless, I guess I will spend the afternoon updating my itunes, ipad, and ipod to ios5 to prepare for their new sibling's arrival. (Did I just refer to my iToys as children?)
