Do you know how long the porting process usually take? I'm having a big party tomorrow for my birthday and sure people will be contacting me so I can't go without my number. I'm not home yet to port the number so I'll have to wait until tonight. Hopefully it takes less than 30 minutes.

Been waiting on the phone for 20 minutes now. Seems like their CR center is getting tons of calls.
 
UPS claimed it was delivered and it wasn't. Good work. At least Sprint gave me a relatively painless refund.
 
My 4S arrived a little after 1:30. Unfortunately it sits on my desk unactivated. The only phone in my home is my cell. Can't call the sprint number to finish port from the number being ported. Oh well, I leave for work in shortly and I'll just use a landline there.

The iphone 4S is pretty though....

My porting took 20-30 minutes... You do need to call from another phone. I called the number, typed in my mobile number and they asked for the pin that I provided when I ordered the 4S. I typed that in and the system put me on hold (with music) for 3-5 minutes. It said it would take 15 minutes to complete and I would receive a text when it was done. I got the text 20 minutes or so after that, and it was done.

Some others have reported other issues so I guess it might depend, but if everything goes right then it doesn't take long at all.
 
Mine just arrived. Question for those of you activating it on an existing line. What number are you putting in? I tried to enter the IMEI/MEID on the two phones, and they both say that the code "couldn't be found"

It can take up to as little as 1 day and up to 2 weeks, but you can contact Order Support at 866-789-8292 Mon-Fri 8am-10pm (ET) or Sat 9am-9pm (ET). They can assist with your port in request and see where it currently is.
 
I've been stalking these forums the past few days going through all the emotions silently with you guys haha.

But I just joined to say how displeased I am with UPS. My phone has been "Out for Delivery" since 8am this morning (central time) and it is now 4:45pm. :mad:

Would anybody be kind enough to post the "Get Started" directions for activating? Seems they forgot to include in my box.
 
I did, yeah.

I logged into Sprint's website and in the drop down box besides my number is an "Activate a New Phone" option that looks like it will do it. I am filling out info now if you don't want to wait in line.

Edit: Didn't work.

Not sure why you are displeased with UPS..it says on their site they deliver until 8pm I believe..they'll get to you when they can..there are other packages ahead of you..I always get packages around 5pm-7pm..and their warehouse is 30-40 minutes away fro my location..as long as I get my package I'm happy..To be perfectly honest and blunt, if you need the phone so badly, go to a store when it's available.

I got my phone.
I'm switching from AT&T to Sprint. When I pre-ordered I opted to get a new number. But now I am wanting to just port my number from AT&T.
When I call the 866-437-1818 number, it asks me to enter the number I want to port. When I enter it it says "Sorry I didn't get that" and asks me to enter it again. When I enter it again it tells me it's going to transfer me to someone that can help me, and then hangs up on me.
What do I do? I have tried it a few times now and from different phones.
