This is my biggest theory for all of this mess. I honestly believe peoples orders are being shipped based on transit times from UPS/Sprint fulfillment center to delivery destination. Say they have Preorders than span from 9/15 to 9/20. Say they will all be shipped and delivered for release day tomorrow. Great. Now here's where it gets confusing. I think, all of those orders, are not being shipped based on who ordered first. I think they are being shipped based on the shipping destinations location from the UPS fulfillment center. Those who have longer transit times are shipped first. Those who have the shortest transit times, are shipped last. I believe that's how this is playing out.
Yes, but post-launch catastrophe, and actually even during it, I was working with Sprint on my many issues. Impressively, many of them were eventually fixed, if not all of them. All, that is, except preorders. I guess. Didn't know what to expect going into this one this year. Though I DO have to give them massive credit for making sure the site didn't crash immediately.
But I'd also like to say that there were a few other people who said the exact same thing and are still apparently with Sprint. So I'm not entirely sure what the purpose is of singling me out in particular. I'm looking at 2 other names I saw last year in this very thread...
I wasn't trying to be an a$$ about it man... honestly, your handle just stuck out to me and I was wondering if you were the same person.
Like I said, I've been down that road with them and after 17 years I'm still here as well. I was just wondering what changed your mind because you were pretty dead-set on making a move ASAP. I wasn't trying to stir the pot if that's the way it came across.
I know, but I think I actually said something later in that forum about having worked with Sprint. I think... though that whole thread was updating every minute or so. But anyway, yeah- Sprint has been pretty much trouble free for the past year. I can't think of a single time I've had to call or chat with them over some stupid issue. And, you know, that's all I really wanted. To just have service that WORKED and where I didn't have to call over and over to fix this or that.
Amazingly... and this is something I never thought I'd say... ever since I just purchased all my own equipment instead of renting out the misery box they rented out, Spectrum has been running well, too. I probably just jinxed myself and Spectrum will burn my house down or something.
Tracking updated. I'll have mine by end of day tomorrow!
[doublepost=1506023504][/doublepost]My parents have been with Sprint for about 20 years. They always say they want to switch but never do either. Something about the unlimited plan.

I was here last year and also very frustrated, and although I did not finally get the Jet Black 128GB 7+ I preordered deliverd until Denecmebr 15th, they made me happy and feel like a valued customer.
It took emailing Marci in executive escalations, and many hours on the phone, but I got 2 months of billing covered, my upgrade eligibility rolled back to the preorder date, to keep my old 6+ penalty free instead of having to give it back and to use the matte black 7+ they had sent in error until the jet black arrived....
Shipping ranges updated from starting 9/20 to starting 9/22... ouch

If I buy an iPhone X from Sprint and pay in full will it arrive Carrier Locked to Sprint? If so can I avoid the carrier lock by placing my Verizon sim in it before powering it on for the first time?
I cannot buy direct from Apple because I don't have an account with any carrier. My phone is provided through work. However they allow me to use my own device if I wish.
My plan it to try to buy from either Verizon or Sprint at launch then canceling the account as soon as I get the phone. I'm prepared to pay any fees associated with activation/cancellation.
I'm in Texas which honestly, transit times from Kentucky here is only like 1 day, 2 days at most. Even though they issued tracking to my device yesterday with 2 day air saver, They didn't pick it up until this morningfrom fulfillment for delivery tomorrow. That theory sounds plausible. We should start a map of who pre-ordered on the 15th, and still has no shipping. I'm in California.
Why ouch? The 20th is gone and past. It's the 21st with the earliest they can ship a phone, if ordered today, is tomorrow the 22nd regardless. So this doesn't mean anything. They obviously can't still ship a phone on the 20th or 21st being well, one is yesterday and one is today......Shipping ranges updated from starting 9/20 to starting 9/22... ouch

I thought that UPS only delivers on Saturday if the service is paid for by the vendor?Wondering if y’all can answer this. UPS delivers on Saturdays, why are people saying if they don’t get it tomorrow that they’ll have to wait until Monday?
Ohhh ok because I looked it up and it said they’ll deliver next day and 2nd day and a few others but what you said would make sense.I thought that UPS only delivers on Saturday if the service is paid for by the vendor?
sprint CDMA isnt as great as the Verizon CDMA/GSM models will be ( Tmobile also ) BUT like said best bet is VerizonPlan A is to try Verizon first. But at 12:01 launch things usually go a little haywire. My plan is to have as many options as possible. Desktop on Verizon, Laptop on Sprint, Verizon app on one phone and Sprint app on another.
They say luck favors the prepared.

yes. I ordred my 64GB space grey 8 plus at 3:15 eastern time and have still not received a shipping notice. I know for a fact people who ordered the exact same phone, hours after me are getting their confirmations. I'd actually be ok with this, except that I called sprint and not only do they not apologize, they actually tell me that I'm wrong. One Sprint rep flat out lied and said no phones have been set up with shipping information and won't be until 9/22. Which is clearly a lie since we all know some phones have already shipped. Another Rep just kept telling me that they have limited supply, which again I'm fine with, except that he refused to answer my question as to why people who ordered after me are getting their devices shipped out.Frustrating that in 2017 they do not process pre-orders in the order they were received...![]()
I received my confirmation email at 3:19 AM EST and my phone is already in SoFlo.yes. I ordred my 64GB space grey 8 plus at 3:15 eastern time and have still not received a shipping notice. Well no shipment or shipment, the old ship dates are in the past. So why not update them to reflect present times.Said the guy with a tracking number.![]()
Just another reason why they all lie and give misinformation out. Yet people still argue truth to their words. Here is a conversation I had with a sprint rep. Lies!
You: I just want somebody to tell me the truth rather than keep lying or ignoring my question about why people who ordered after me are already getting their devices shipped out.
Matt: Upon checking your order, i do see that your device is the new iPhone 8 on Space Gray. Indeed we received earlier stock in this device but other colors. At this point we haven't received the Space Gray stock but rest assured we will have stock on your device most probably tomorrow. The people whom you spoke with didn't have the Space Gray ordered with Sprint i can guarantee that.
You: you see, you are lying. The people I talked to did have space grey. they were space grey, they were 8 plus, and they were 64GB. I saw the order confirmation with my own eyes.
You: and I saw the shipping confirmation with my own eyes as well.
Matt: I am just stating facts that i can see in our system. I'm sorry for the delay but we really haven't received stock on the Space Gray yet, as i can see in the system.
You: it's frustrating to have a service provider who can't just tell the truth. Even if it's something that your customers might not want to hear, you should still tell the truth.
You: ok.
Matt: At this time your order is prioritized and will ship shortly after we receive inventory in our warehouse. I apologize for the delay and appreciate your understanding in this backorder situation.
You: thank you for your help.

I'm in the great KY, but just in a part of it sort of "removed" from the rest of the state. Regardless, Louisville is within a reasonably short drive from here, so it wouldn't be too shocking to see something ship out late tonight and arrive in "my city" (i live outside of another major city, so it's kind of funny that my mail goes to this other state, only to be delivered back to KY), then be out for delivery at 5am or something along those lines.
But yeah, I don't see that happening. Wouldn't it just be such a shame if I had to holy off for the X?
