Carrier Sprint iPhone X/8/7s Pre-Order and Dispatch Thread

I was told the same thing approximately two days ago, yet my order has since shipped and is expected to arrive tomorrow.
Many people have. I was even told it was backordered twice but it shipped yesterday. I'll say this again, those low tier reps know NOTHING about your order other than what we see on MyOrder. They even copy and paste the same information. Do NOT rely on their nonsense responses.
Man oh man... car rental. No thank you. I'd rather deal with delayed iPhone "reservations" than car rental. I shiver thinking about it.
If I buy an iPhone X from Sprint and pay in full will it arrive Carrier Locked to Sprint? If so can I avoid the carrier lock by placing my Verizon sim in it before powering it on for the first time?
I cannot buy direct from Apple because I don't have an account with any carrier. My phone is provided through work. However they allow me to use my own device if I wish.
My plan it to try to buy from either Verizon or Sprint at launch then canceling the account as soon as I get the phone. I'm prepared to pay any fees associated with activation/cancellation.

I think carriers typically keep devices locked for a fixed amount of time just for this reason, though I'm not even sure you can unlock a CDMA phone for use on another CDMA network. I think your only option for a fully unlocked device is through Apple
I spoke to a rep today and they alerted me that it is supposed to ship in order of purchase time, but there’s variation between model. He told me he didn’t really have a lot of info about when mine would ship because there’s variation as far as coordination between UPS and the warehouse, but that mine definitely wasn’t being delayed. But I think the SG 8+ has a larger drawing than people expected because I know that even for that model on Apple’s website it has some later shipping dates. At this point, I don’t mind it arriving over the weekend because I know someone will be there to sign for it, less coordination for me.
I didn’t order a 256 GB but I did order right after preorders started on the 15th an am still pending
Yeah. I think i'm switching to the Apple installment plan next year. So I can deal with the apple site.
Yes on the 15th at 3:07 EST, 7 minutes after preorders started and I am still pending shipment, SUCKS
There might be some truth to the variation of ship times between models. They may have more stock up front of one model or color or capacity then others. Valid point. But it appears the only model that is delayed is the 256GB Gold 8+ which is the only one listed on their /ship site that has an extended shipping date estimates. Apple's own website's estimated shipping times and dates are for their own inventory levels. Apple, Sprint, AT&T, Best Buy, etc., don't call grab inventory from one big pile of iPhones. They are all shipped their own private inventories. So shipping times for Apples website aren't going to be the same for say Sprint or Best Buy or other retailers.

I've been following the Apple preorder thread. People are having the same issues. Some people's orders are still "processing".

Same here.
Either my order won't ship until later today, due to my relative proximity to the UPS fulfillment center, or they're just delayed. Again. Which means Sprint didn't learn their lesson from last year. Which would not surprise me at all.
I hope this doesn't come out incorrectly because ultimately, I have had my frustrations with Sprint a time or two over the last 17 years (yes, I've been a customer for that long) but aren't you the same person who was putting them on blast last year during the 7 launch and swore you would never do this again... and you were leaving Sprint all together?
If not, then I apologize. If so, what changed? What made you decide to stick it out?
Plan A is to try Verizon first. But at 12:01 launch things usually go a little haywire. My plan is to have as many options as possible. Desktop on Verizon, Laptop on Sprint, Verizon app on one phone and Sprint app on another.

This is my biggest theory for all of this mess. I honestly believe peoples orders are being shipped based on transit times from UPS/Sprint fulfillment center to delivery destination. Say they have Preorders than span from 9/15 to 9/20. Say they will all be shipped and delivered for release day tomorrow. Great. Now here's where it gets confusing. I think, all of those orders, are not being shipped based on who ordered first. I think they are being shipped based on the shipping destinations location from the UPS fulfillment center. Those who have longer transit times are shipped first. Those who have the shortest transit times, are shipped last. I believe that's how this is playing out.
Yes, but post-launch catastrophe, and actually even during it, I was working with Sprint on my many issues. Impressively, many of them were eventually fixed, if not all of them. All, that is, except preorders. I guess. Didn't know what to expect going into this one this year. Though I DO have to give them massive credit for making sure the site didn't crash immediately.
But I'd also like to say that there were a few other people who said the exact same thing and are still apparently with Sprint. So I'm not entirely sure what the purpose is of singling me out in particular. I'm looking at 2 other names I saw last year in this very thread...
