So what's everyone's plan for the next 2-4 weeks? Complete blackout or are you going to try and use a friends apple watch?

Absolute and total blackout. The watch is dead to me until I receive mine. I will refuse to acknowledge its existence. It's the only way I will make it through this trying period.

and i'm here in my country where Apple watch is not gonna be sold for another 3 more wave. Even getting an August product Launch is good.

At least the three holds for AppleCare+ on the three watches I ordered finally disappeared. They can stop pretending they're about to ship them to me now.

Thread here to keep track of these orders.... https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=21103468

Not created by me, but would be good if people can fill in the info and use that thread for actual order status updates only, no chit-chat. Leave that for this thread.

Also, the OP of that thread said he ordered a 42mm SS Space Black Link fron Hong Kong and has a 3-4 week delivery date (6th-13th May)!

I think I might steel your game plan.
** See what I did there ** ;):D:apple:

It's really the only way to go at this point. Don't be rude, but if a friend or co-worker tries to show you their inferior watch just politely decline. If it's your spouse, you may want to consider a long business trip or separation for awhile. This may help keep your marriage together. And whatever you do stay off of social media and YouTube for awhile.

This debacle reminds me of the first iPad launch where those that wanted the higher end cellular versions had to wait another month. At least we knew ahead of time and did not get the surprise confirmation with 4-6 weeks shipping even though we ordered in the first minute. I'm looking at my wrist right now and do you know what I see? My wrist. Awful.

Just to let you guys know I'm going for a fitting for the SBSS 42mm tomorrow as I have said before I have that and the SG one on order so am trying them both on to see what I prefer
Let me know if you have any questions you want me to ask also I will upload pics If anyone is interested

Please take pictures, and if possible see if they'll let you try it on with a sport band.

Will do, may look at the White too!
I'm also interested to know how easy the strap is to alter the size

Hey, I am new to these forums and don't plan on posting much because I see how crazy ridiculous most people are on here but enough of the negativity...I decided to post a story (below) which was written by Greg Koenig for iMore. Sounds like those who are getting the SS Space Black are getting more than they thought...

Here's the original piece - http://www.imore.com/apple-watch-and-durability

This part scared me:
Plating technologies left a lot to be desired, and older blackened steel watches quickly looked worn after just a few high-contrast silver dings and scratches.

but the rest of the piece really redeemed the watch for me. It appears after reading this that Stainless steel is the most resilient of the watches and the coating on Space Black is only going to make the watch more resilient and it is indeed the most premium in materials and the extra effort needed to apply the diamond-like coating.

Really impressed and looking forward to seeing mine in person.

No one I know in real life is going to order one. Very few people I know even have an iPhone that supports Apple Watch. Besides, as for actual communication (the dedicated button for friends) is also useless. The only person I call or iMessage with is my GF so that wheel of people is just going to be one person. But i'm not buying it for a communications device so that's fine.

I think Apple is going to do it right, hence this extended delay.

I may have missed it, but I didn't see the SS black ones in any of the 3 commercials. Maybe these watches really don't exist!!

They do.. The Cambridge (UK) Apple Store has them in the "try on" drawers. 42 and 38. I tried the 42 on.. Still kicking myself for not taking a picture! Glad I ordered it though, tis very nice!

A wee bit disappointed with the lack of info though. Next to the Edition this is the most expensive one but not a peep out of anyone as to why it's not shipping or when it might..

When you say not a peep... you're just not going to include the 5/13-5/24 shipping window that was already provided? That's the window. There is no other information that is required.

Looks great , is it as nice in in the flesh?
Does it look durable?

I also tried on the SS Space Black 42mm but didn't think to take a picture at the time (Noon on 4/10). It looks gorgeous, but it is less "substantial" than I was expecting. I of course couldn't test the durability, but the band is very light. Not necessarily in a bad way, but I've worn SS watches for the last 20 years and my current Citizen Eco-Drive Blue Angels watch feels like it is made of lead compared to the SS Space Black Apple Watch.

I think you are missing the point. There has been no indication that this watch was ever ready for prime time. There have been no confirmations that this watch made the first wave today. I ordered within three or four minutes and I got a June delivery "not really a date". I knew right there this watch was not ready. My wife's Milanese loop, ordered alter, expected in the 5/13-5/24. It was ordered a minute later.

In my opinion it looks even better in person. It's lighter than I expected but definitely feels durable. The coating feels great as well and seems like it will hold up. The rep said that a previous person tried it on and dropped it on the floor. There wasn't a scratch on it.
