In my opinion it looks even better in person. It's lighter than I expected but definitely feels durable. The coating feels great as well and seems like it will hold up. The rep said that a previous person tried it on and dropped it on the floor. There wasn't a scratch on it.

Thanks for the information guys, we will know a bit more once people start owning them.
I'm looking forward to having a play tomorrow
The coating that is used on the iPhone is awful and scratches very easily but I'm sure these are a lot better

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that the Space Black SS watch was only 3% of what was purchased on the 4/10 pre-order insanity. It is the most expensive model before moving to the bling edition so it makes sense there would not be as high of a demand than the lesser their models coming in at under $500.00. How did they not have any? I have been to a number of threads on different sites and have yet to see any shipping confirmation for this watch.

I think you are missing the point. There has been no indication that this watch was ever ready for prime time. There have been no confirmations that this watch made the first wave today. I ordered within three or four minutes and I got a June delivery "not really a date". I knew right there this watch was not ready. My wife's Milanese loop, ordered alter, expected in the 5/13-5/24. It was ordered a minute later.

So you're surprised that extraordinarily different configurations and variations of the product have different deliverable dates? What information do you want from Apple? Should they give you the serial number of the machine that is yielding slower results than they would like? All they can do is provide a window of delivery. Getting an email that says "We're working on your order!" isn't going to make you get the watch any faster or provide any additional information.

I am not saying I'm surprised. There shouldn't be a surprise for the consumer. It is rather ridiculous that apple is surprised and cannot deliver ANY of this watch (your configuration argument is meaningless given that this watch is not making it on launch day). Their claim is "high demand". Like there isn't high demand for EVERY apple launch so that they could properly time this launch so that pre-ordering it actually made sense to the consumer. I love my apple products, but I am not going to defend this mediocre "who cares if we are not ready, they love us anyway" attitude.

Technically, they didn't have any claim save for the shipping window. They just released the watch and stated that this model would ship later. So it's ready for "prime time" according to Apple's schedule (which is the only one that matters).

When you say not a peep... you're just not going to include the 5/13-5/24 shipping window that was already provided? That's the window. There is no other information that is required.

I can't agree with you there. They advertise 4/24 as the day it's going to be available and then those of who ordered it within seconds of the site going live have to wait 3-4 weeks longer to get the watch we want and evidently they didn't have a single one ready to ship? I think that requires a bit of an explanation.

That is not even technically correct. You got the shipping window after the pre-order is not a "window". If launch is 4/24 and they have not shipped any out for 4/24, they have missed this very "large" window you referred to. I am not referring to the June date I got, I am referring to the point that getting a shipping window for every Space Black SS watch after 4/24 proves my point.

This is false. Saw 4-6 weeks before I ordered.

Actually, a LOT of people got watches today. Just not this model. This particular model was never once promised to be released on 4/24.

The Apple Watch launched on 4/24. The Space Black Watch is shipping later than many models of the Apple Watch. This was clear as day to everyone when they ordered.

It's still pretty crazy how little of these they have/will have available (or not available) in the next few weeks. Considering that this model was the least pre-ordered model by a wide margin. Besides the editions of course.

Can we please stop with the back and forth crap on this? None of it is very productive at this point.

After watching some unboxing videos, I'm HAPPY to wait for the ultimate Space Black SS Link watch.

The sport band looks like a POS that is a struggle to get correctly on every time. Obviously with practice I'm sure it would get better...

Also watched some Stainless Steel unboxing's and honestly it looks quite dumb having a large black face, silver around the edges, then a band.

The Space Black Link is going to be awesome because even when the screen is off, it looks like one encompassing piece of tech - black on black.

I will gladly wait for the real apple watch to arrive. XX:03 confirmation 4/10 - 4-6 weeks shipping. Las Vegas NV

Awfully funny you agree with ending a discussion AFTER you have the last word. Ugh.

You still fail to address that THIS watch was not available for launch. At all. This is about a watch that was promoted at being available for launch and is now not. It is completely irrelevant that "A LOT" of other people got their watches when NONE of those watches are the ones ordered on this thread. Additionally, shipping time was not June when I ordered my watch.

The sport band actually looks great in person, and feels even better. I plan on picking one up to use with my SSSB watch when I exercise.

Thanks for these extra little details Matt - they make the wait feel a little less anxious :)

Stainless Steel Space Black Shipping Status

Like someone earlier said, it seems like this is the only model left out of the commercials.

----------

So it seems that the link watches are very very special:

they have a cleaning cloth

Stainless Steel Space Black Shipping Status

According to the guide we will also get a bag to put our links in? Worth the wait!

Really? That's kinda cool, I figured if just have to throw the extra links in the box.

It's the little things....

If you scroll down to the links bracelet part, the picture has a caption mentioning a links pouch. So I think one is included?
