Adding AppleCare+

Guys, I've been suggesting adding AppleCare+ as soon as your watch is added to your support profile (if you didn't add it when you purchased and still wanted to do so), as it seemed like good timing as, because you haven't received it yet, they can't insist on an inspection of the watch (saving you a trip to an Apple Store).

Well, this bit me in the ass yesterday. I called, got them to add AC+, then I got the certificate e-mail and the AC+ expires on June 15, 2017. So, I'm paying for days of coverage that I haven't received my watch yet. So, I had to call AC+, give them the skinny and now Joe from Agreement Administration is going to adjust my purchase date to tomorrow, so I get my full 2 years of coverage.

Joe did also highlight that there's a downside to being a pre-order. Your warranty kicks off when the item is shipped, not when you receive it. (say what?!). He said "Now, I can't ever see us not helping a customer out if something happens a day or two after their warranty expires..." but I still see this as a problem.

We have people like Chulan that their watch was delayed and they received it a week after it shipped from China - this would mean he gets screwed out of a week of his manufacturer's warranty was well as AC+.

Not cool.

I suggested to Joe that I'll get the executive escalation team to get that sorted (via the tim cook e-mail), he suggested the proper mechanism is the feedback page.

Nah...I want the executive escalation team to do something about this. :) If I use the feedback page, some pencil pusher may decide. Nah, f him. :)

Just letting you guys know. Keep an eye on this. Call AC+ and ask them to make it right if there's more than a day or two between when you received the watch and when your AC+ should expire.

Paying for a day or two is not a big deal. Apple has a unwritten 45 day after warranty policy. They will help any customer for 45 days out of their warranty if their device has problems.

I noticed my warranty started 2 days before I picked it up, guess what? Im not too worried about it going to throw a fuss over it, not worth the time. Im going to instead just enjoy my watch and if it happens to break after warranty, I will just ask them to take care of me because I know about the policy and because my warranty started 2 days before I received the watch and the tracking number / screen shots / apple order website is proof.

Yep, just told nickabenko on the UK thread. UPS will try to hit the Apple date, so you could see that move sooner for you. They may even deliver on Saturday, so keep an eye on your tracking. :)

Great! I'll keep my fingers crossed then. And don't worry I'm not taking my eyes off this tracker.

Where is the 45 day policy written that customers can use it to protect themselves?

Unless it's published, it can be revoked without notification.

@gold/// , @ryan.adelman Heh. You guys kill me. :) The US has orders of magnitude more orders than any other country. That's why we're still at 8 hours into launch day there and days or weeks elsewhere. (except for France - maybe the MacRumors "english only" policy also keeps our French population low?)

This is likely "it" for non-US orders for the next little bit - waves of US charges should ensue now. We'll occasionally see some progress for others interspersed, but there won't be much until the US clears April.

Once again, it'll be "all about you". :)

Haha I know, homeboy yesterday got my hope up! I'm glad to see so much progress hopefully it means I'll be in the next shipment that goes out for the U.S.! I just can't wait :D

Well, when the charges/SKU starts for the US again, there'll be a lot of them. I wonder if we won't see more UK/Germany charges today though. With HK at May 5 and Aus and Canada later in April, I kinda wonder if the UK and Germany shouldn't be later in the month to have more of us at an "even keel".

I guess it really depends on how big the batches are that Apple's shipping. We were joking before, suggesting that if we got a batch the size of the :06 one was for the US for Canada that it wouldn't fill the month...turns out that was pretty accurate. :)

Did anyone else get another import scan in Louisville? Even though it has been "left" there this entire time?

@elembemedia gotcha gotcha!
We will see! I set my for hold at the local hub, and it says that it will be here today. But I'm thinking tomorrow will be the day it actually arrives still.

Anyone who is still waiting for a 38mm SS SB, they are now available at some (but not all) Apple retail stores. Unfortunately the 42mm still isn't. Just for fun today I checked the Apple website and was pleasantly surprised to find that I could now walk into my local Apple store and actually buy a 38mm. Tempting, so tempting......

Made an account just to post this here. Ordered my SSSB on the 22nd of april and had a delivery date of 24th-30th and as of 4:30 this afternoon it is now preparing for dispatch! Hoping i'll have it by friday!

EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention where! Im in the UK!

Where are you Chris9202? If you're in the US, I know a bunch are going to want to see proof, so could we get a screenshot (with your info redacted) of your order page from the store site?

You can actually do the cutting of those fields from the preview app. :)

If you don't know how to do that on OS X, you can do command, shift, 4, then highlight the area you want to capture. Places an image file on your desktop that you can edit.

Edit: It IS a 42mm, right?

Awesome! Thanks Chris! Yep, we were only at April 15th for the UK, so you're the latest we've seen thus far. (also good for you to pop over to the UK space black thread to share the good news). :)

Congrats!!! :D

I work at Xbox, everyone is gone at E3, I plan on kicking back on a sofa and drowning my sorrows by playing some Halo the remainder of my day. No pitchforks and torches over here :D

Hey friends! This is my very first post!

I am in the U.S. and I ordered my 42mm Space Black Stainless Steel WATCH right around 10am on April 10th. My current ship date is July 7th to the 14th. I could not be more excited! Did anyone else order their watch around the same time? I find it interesting that on Apple.com it says the ship time for that watch is 3-4 weeks but mine still says 5-6 weeks. Is anyone else experiencing anything similar?
