I think the space black model has been a rushed production causing most of the links to be defective.

Just got off the phone with Apple. They are replacing the whole watch.... ARG!! The link appears to be bent. See the two pictures below.

Definitely bent/defective. I hope you have AC+ so you can get an express replacement. If not, do you have another band you can throw on the watch while you're waiting for the replacement?

Yes I did get AC+ when it arrived. They said I could keep this watch until the replacement arrived. I tried to just get a replacement band but no luck. I have not ordered any other bands yet. It's a bummer but they are taking care of it. Still LOVE the watch!!!

Most of the links? Wow! I know you post a lot of negative ****, but exaggerate much?! We've seen a handful of issues - well within the realm of acceptable manufacturing defect rates.
"a lot of negative ****" ? it's more like a whole freight train full. I have had ZERO issues and imagine that 99% of orders have had no problem.

Good! Glad to hear you won't be without your watch. A shame it seems they don't have bands in their warranty stock yet...seems a little excessive to replace the watch body as well. Ah, well, you can be as reckless as you like with it until the replacement arrives. :) I know H3rman did that and was quite pleased with how the watch didn't show any damage.

Thank you for all the entertainment the last several weeks! I've been checking these boards daily to see where deliveries were at. I was one of the Canadians that benefited from that big batch shipment earlier in the week. Previous to that I was wearing the SS classic leather band (it's been returned). I really liked the classic leather, but the black is totally worth it! I do like the white sport band and the combination of the two. The links are awesome. Looks great. I do have some stiffness taking the links off and on, but I hear that goes away after a few times.

Hey guys, first post here but I've been following this thread for about a week or so. I ordered my SBSS 42mm on 5/13 and am still in the processing stage.

Today at 8, I got on the apple site and was able to reserve a 42mm SBSS in Annapolis, MD store. I guess I'll just cancel the one on order after I pick this up. So much for online orders being fulfilled before the stores get this model...

What???? Only the 38's were supposed to be in stock.

Going to check...

Apapap, when did you order? (just want to make sure you may not be later than the 28th of April, so I keep my list up to date).

I know. On Wednesday when reservations started, a store in Houston was showing stock available also. I'm irritated that this is available in the store before they said it would be, but at the same time I'm happy that I get a watch sooner
Anyone in the US able to do that? I just tried, while being logged into the US store, doesn't even allow me to look at store availability:

i was on at 7:59 and refreshing like every 2 seconds. It went back to unavailable for in store reservation at about 8:05. I'll report back when I go to pick up my reservation. Hopefully it wasn't a glitch bc this Apple Store is like 2 hours away haha

Oh yeah, sorry, should have mentioned though nothing that affects your stats. I ordered at 6:30am Eastern time, first day. Thanks for keeping the list updated! It was super helpful!

Man, in some ways I hope you're making all this up. This is going to be a PR ********* if you get the 42mm at the store.

Yeah, I know. Pretty ridiculous that Apple would make the model available in-store before all of the orders are fulfilled. I'm going to give them a call before I drive there just to double check that it wasn't a glitch. I'll report back later.

Heh, yeah, especially after sending all of us e-mails telling us that they absolutely wouldn't do that.

Whoo. Deep breaths everyone.

What are you talking about? There have been literally 2 people that I'm aware of that have complained on these forums about the DLC on the some of the links on their band. Obviously there were a very, very small number of defects that got through quality control.

Wow, it's amazing how some people see a couple of complaints and then suddenly it's a huge problem.

Please read back through the thread. I was commenting on someone that has posted a lot of negative posts. I was agreeing with another member that the first member was posting A LOT of negative stuff, and that had not been my experience. Please don't jump my a** when you haven't read back through.

My order was placed May 9th, and it's showing a 5-6 week time frame

New orders being placed right now show a 2 week time frame.

Come on apple, get it together.

Actually, yeah, they haven't been updating that estimate before you get charged. I think that's actually a good thing - if they were updating the estimate, then they're level-setting you that you still have some waiting to do. :)

Hopefully you (and all the other backlogged orders in the US) will be charged within the next week.
