From a couple of posts I have seen it seems likely that the 38mm might be getting shipped first. Not sure why that would be, but worth keeping an eye on.

I have a 42mm Space Black, and it is shipping 12-26 May, ordered 08:01 GMT. Why do you feel the 38 is shipping first?

There were a couple of posts recently where people said their dates went from a very general time frame to more specific. Both were 38s I noticed.

Might be nothing, and I may have just misread the posts altogether.

Hi, I am new to this forum. :) I ordered the 38 mm SS Space Black +1 min and got the 12-26 May range. Still processing.

I would not say that means the first 38mm orders will ship before the first 42mm orders. Just means the later 38mm orders will ship faster than the later 42mm orders, probably due to higher demand for the 42mm.

For example if Apple got 100,000 38mm orders and 500,000 42mm orders then even though they are both being produced at the same rate and the first of each size will arrive at the same time the last of the 38's will arrive well before the last of the 42's.

That's how I understand it and what makes more sense to me. It has been quite obvious from other models that 42mm is a more popular choice.

Don't feel special, all it accounts for is the time difference between destinations but technically it's exactly the same time window and will be delivered the "same day"

Haha not feeling special at all.. more rather curious why the discrepancy.

That being said - seems like a international date line thing but if you really think about it Australia is faster than US. Putting it on May 12 rather than May 13 only puts Australia even earlier in the delivery timeframe. Thinking it may be a distance from China thing. If Apple wanted to release the same delivery timeframe, all being May 13 makes more sense.

Heh, yeah, I was thinking that too. Ah, well, close enough. :) You guys can post pics and we can all twist in envy. :)

For an initial launch your idea of it applies due to actual times used to schedule the online store to reopen but from the stand point of shipment it will depend on the actual point of origin of the shipment to consider that window.

I'm July - wanna trade? :D

I wouldn't trade, I'd just forfeit. If the shipping times of the sport drop to two weeks on 42s, I might be out. It isn't simply waiting that's annoying-that's that, in one month, the estimate hasn't changed, to even 4-6 weeks. It may be another day, it may be a month and a half, but I'd at least like a window of expectation. I'm spending, after all, $1200 after taxes on something that I'm still not sure is worth it (but eh, I have enough for it). It'd be nice to feel like it is a luxury experience where Apple is taking care of customers.

Especially since I'm spending almost three times the cost of a sport 38. Not to say I'm better than them. I'm just wondering what I'm thinking that I'm paying for. From what I can see, 42 golds are now shipping in June, which means, production has been shifted to crank out those models. Fine, they cost $12,000-$15,000 in this size. But, why not redistribute resources to the most expensive of the regular watches? Simple: We're not spending enough to get more production at our price point, but we are still spending a gigantic premium over the sport...so I'm getting bitter.

And seeing Katy Perry wear one for free and I can't even get an estimate? We'll see. But I'm less than happy.

I am in the UK, my email confirmation came through at 8:03 (2 minutes from the preorders going live) I have a delivery date between 12/05-26/05, Apple have pre-authorised my card for £1, my status is still processing. When you ring Apple they can't give you any information bar what you already have, I believe it's poor poor service especially with the amount we are spending, what also annoys me is they are dispatching band only orders before fulfilling watch orders band only orders that include the standard stainless steel link band

I agree it's pretty bad they're fulfilling the band orders first, but the black link isn't sold separately, so it doesn't affect your orders whatsoever :)
