I wouldn't trade, I'd just forfeit. .... But I'm less than happy.

I hear you. I have days where I'm "I should just cancel and get a regular SS"

But, then I watch the DLC scratch test video again:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02LAMOpEVq4

..or I pan through a bunch of images of the SB SS on google.

And I'm pumped all over again. The wait is agonizing...but the toy at the end of the tunnel is just so damn sexy!! :)

I agree it's pretty bad they're fulfilling the band orders first, but the black link isn't sold separately, so it doesn't affect your orders whatsoever :)

No your correct the black link is available separately but when they are fulfilling band only orders then they aren't fulfilling watch orders so yes this would effect everyone's order

I thought you could not get just a black stainless band. I never saw one the last time I looked.

To the website!!!!!

I just said they aren't sold separately but if they are fulfilling any sort of band orders then they aren't fulfilling watch orders as their times are taken fulfilling band orders

I agree. But that being said I'm not sure how much does it impact Watch orders :)

It might not but if it doesn't then what is the answer for the such long delays? The issue here is Apple claim to have predicted the sales for each model from the sport to the editions they clearly have predicted more than enough for the sport range because everyone seems to be receiving these (obviously being the cheapest) I'm not slating anyone for buying the cheapest may I add, then you have every other model bar the stainless steel link models in the watch range that appear to all have shipped a batch of each, the issue either is Apple didn't predict they would sell the amount of the stainless steel link ones they have or there is a production issue with the link I believe

Sorry but you said they ARE sold separately. Might be a missed letter on your part now that I read your post again. Something maybe you should have done.

Apple is overwhelmed with orders, they don't have enough production and they probably also have issues to add to this.

As for Sport Watch, I've ordered the 42mm Stage Gray and I'm in the same boat as you, no Watch so far ;)

Your model is more premium, thus less searched for, with less production. Wait times were to be expected. This huge wait times? Well, they're ridiculous and I'm not defending Apple... But things are happening like this for everyone, not just for you guys :) Being patient is the key...

But I know it's awful, as there are no nothing from Apple about these delays

With regards to why are the bands shipping first, and that it is a "joke" and "how dare they ship bands before watches", etc.

I'm just going to link to a post I made about this a few days ago... https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/21224235/

For those who can't be bothered clicking the link this is what I posted....

Me said:
Guys, chill out. I'm sure they are preparing the link watches as we speak. You need to remember that with the bands, once they are made, they just need to be boxed up and shipped off.

For the actual watches they need to enter the main production line, be added to the watches, the watches will need to undergo QC in batches, and then get packed up and shipped off. These extra few steps will be what is causing the delay. Probably only by 2-3 days.

They probably made say 100,000 link bands all at once, but 60,000 of them are just needing to be boxed up. They went through their own QC when they were made. The other 40,000 need the additional steps in the production line then further QC of the entire assembled product. Even though the band has probably already passed a previous QC step at the band manufacturers facility, the entire assembled unit will still need its own QC.

Keep patient for a few more days. Everything they have done up until now has made sense (to me at least) regarding the link bands. They are just trying to be as efficient as possible when it comes to getting out the watch product as a whole, not focussing on individual models. ;)

Didn't the Link Bracelets start shipping out Tuesday night though? It's been four days now, doesn't seem like it should take that long to ship the band to the Watch factory, attach the band to a Watch, inspect it and package it.

damn you. Just damn you.

:D

Yes, was around then. I can't speak for Apple, but I know at the company I work for in our industry it never goes as quickly as the clients think it should, usually because we are not just working on their projects. We have to divide resources between several projects, just like Apple have to divide resources between 38 SKU's. The bands might be at the production facility, but they might not be planned to start production until say yesterday, so the first movement would be Monday.

The factory will not be sitting twiddling their thumbs just waiting for the link bands to arrive so they can jump right on them, they will have schedules which they are trying to stick to for each SKU.

I'm assuming with everyone commenting on here they are all waiting for either 38 or 42mm SB SS link bracelet watches and all your orders are still sat in a "processing items" status?

You will definitely know it when someone's status changes to anything else in here!!

I suppose your right well I'm hoping for us all these changes take place over the weekend (not sure on Sunday though) but definitely hope it's Monday with delivery Tuesday. Usually "preparing for shipment" is a matter of hours then it is dispatched with delivery typically the next working day and hopefully Tuesday

I read on the forums that a bunch of another model's statuses changed last Sunday so that is my hope that all of ours do the same.

I do agree. I have a fetish for black gadgets. I didn't even know originally it was DLC, I thought I was paying for the steel to be anodized-so I'm very pleased about that (hey, I'm shallow!)-but I found out and that's what made the difference for me and the sport. Luckily for me, I liked the link band design and that, I'd only consider the Milanese (I have a sport for running. Which is in. Without the watch. Hence my frustration).
