I don't see the Air 2 as an upgrade, merely bigger. I don't see the Mini 4 and Air 2 as cross shopped. If you value the mini form factor, that's what you want.

But yes... THANK YOU for drawing attention to the deal!

I had mini4 and though it's awesome i returned it, couldnt pass up the air2 staples deal PM'd at target with cartwheel, and doing just fine :) I miss the big iPad. I feel more connected with Steve.

gave my mini2 to my dad who has been on mini1 forever.

I got home from doing this about an hour and a half ago. Worked like a charm. I called ahead to make sure they would price match, brought in the Staples ad to the store, used the cartwheel coupon, and used my RedCard to purchase. $410 out the door with a brand new 64GB Air 2.
Wow amazing deal!!!

I finally picked up my Space Gray iPad Air 2 64 GB today from Staples. I'm happy to report it has a production of July 2015 so it's only a couple months old not that it makes any difference. I'm so amazed I got this great of a deal on a 64 GB iPad.

Thanks for the heads up. I have a Mini 2, which I'm finding I don't use much. I'll probably sell it. I'm ready to go back to the bigger iPad since my next iPhone will be a Plus model, right now I've got a 6. The mini seems redundant with a bigger phone and smaller laptop. The bigger iPad will be a better 3rd device I think. I was gonna grab a Mini 4 but I see that the Air 2 is still faster and has better scores and it was something new.

I just grabbed a 16GB Space Grey from my local store via the pickup option - I'll go pick it up Friday.

Thats the same way that I saw it. I got a 6+ and rMB, I kept the iPad as a barely used 3rd device. My wife uses it more than me, but couldn't miss the iPad Air 2 deal
And they wonder why they are closing up shop left and right and losing to the likes of Amazon and other online retailers.

I went to BB and was in and out within 5 minutes price matched, rewards, exact model and color I wanted.

I hope it all gets worked out for ya.

Agreed 100%. A store rep put me on hold for 11 minutes with my local Staples store, I thought that the rep forgot about me, so I called back, was on hold for another 15 minutes before someone picked up. I asked if they have the iPad, she told me which one (all while yelling at someone in the background), then told me they don't have the one I want. I jumped in the car, went to my local Best Buy (a bit further away) got the deal PM. Was in and out in 7 minutes. Thank you Staples for making this deal, but they have to better their customer service

Got one ordered that's "Processing" through Staples, thought I'd try my luck at Target anyway.
They wouldn't price match because Staples is now out of stock online.

Well after playing with my new iPad Air tonight the screen is breathtaking it's really amazing the laminated display is a must have feature. I looked at it side by side against my iPad mini 2 and the display is so much better on iPad Air 2. So happy and my screen looks perfect to me no defects. It came with 8.4 will update to 9.0 later. The speed is just crazy fast!!

Wow your right staples is showing currently sold out online of the iPad Air 2, I guess it pays to jump on these deals early especially when the deal was this low.

Damn, glad i grabbed mine today as they are out of stock as everyone is saying!

If the 6S+ is as snappy as this thing and no Safari refreshes and how blazing fast it does thing, I am going to be ecstatic. :)

Yes, mine is still processing and I purchased mine last night online. I'm nervous it will get cancelled now that they are showing out of stock.

This may not be the same at all Targets, and the stores may be catching on to Staples being out of stock, but...

You can still print out the weekly flier from Staples that shows the $150 discount. That's basically what I did. The Target price match policy states that they will price match discounts from local competitors if the customer brings in the flier that depicts the discount. Luckily, Staples has a digital version of their weekly flier on their website. I showed that to guest services and had no problems at all.

30 days opened or not is their policy...I verified only because I was tempted to return my iPad mini 3 for an Air 2 but didn't. However I did go back to the store as the mini I recently purchased went on sale even lower, the clerk processed the refund at full price then charged me the new mark down price. So you should be good to go. If denied show them the policy or ask to speak to a manager, usually they won't dispute you if you are knowledgeable about their policies.
I asked the manager before opening and they told I could return opened. I bought before staples deal. I asked them for price match they refused so I ordered from staples. I still have to return opened iPad. If they will not let me return it as promised I will never set foot in target again!

I thought the same thing, was actually planning on going to Best Buy today but turns out mine shipped this morning. Checked the tracking and it's already out for delivery.

Nice. Yes, I got an email early this morning that mine shipped too. Should be here Monday. Very excited!

I ended up picking up a 64gb Air 2 this past week. It has been a while since I have had an ipad. Wow, I am glad I took advantage of this. Should have bought another ipad a long time ago.

Just picked up my Air 2. The build date is October 2014......:(

That said, unless there are any problems I see no reason to return it.

It's easy to always want the next iPad Air but if you have been playing with the competition tablets, you will find the Air 2 very cutting edge. As I write this, I am working in a split screen Safari/email while watching a HULU in PIP. I got three things going on seamlessly. To top it off, I am only loosing 7% of batty life per hour doing this. I am very happy with the Air 2.

Was kind of surprised I got Target to price match and it came out as built in September 2015. Can't get any fresher than that.

Still debating if I should keep it.

First of all, let me thank everyone for contributing to this thread. There's no way I would have known about this deal if I hadn't read it.

I had a mini 2 that I loved but that was beginning to show its age. I flipped it to someone for $180, then went to BB to see if they'd price match. At first the salesperson told me yes. Then the manager came by and said they would only price match if the item was in stock at staples, which of course it wasn't. I told him that I was informed they'd price match. "Who told you that?" "I did," the salesman said. The manager then said "Okay, since he told you that initially we'll honor it, but in the future the item needs to be in stock."

So I'm now the happy owner of a silver Air 2 16gb (I only use the iPad to surf and stream) for essentially less than $200. It's fantastic, especially on ios9. Just the fact that I can have multiple safari tabs open without reloads is great (my mini could do no more than two).
